Floyd Mayweather wants to own the NY Giants ... and we're told the 50-0 boxing legend is leading a group gunning to buy a 10% stake in the 4x Super Bowl-winning franchise!

TMZ Sports has learned that 47-year-old Mayweather and his business partner, prominent real estate magnate, Meyer Orbach, are putting together an offer. There will likely be another wealthy investor added to the team, per what we are being told from our sources.

We're told the offer will be in the neighborhood of $700 million ... and the plan is to submit the proposal soon. We're told TBE has already moved $200 million into an escrow account.

Patrick Mahomes Sr. relented last week that the Bourbon St. dust-up between him and John Rocker was, in fact, "staged."

The father of NFL star Patrick Mahomes II made the admission on Feb. 13, according to court documents obtained by TMZ Sports, as officials were questioning him about his trip to New Orleans for Super Bowl LIX.

The docs state Mahomes Sr. -- who was placed on probation last year after pleading guilty to a charge of DWI third or more -- was given permission to travel to watch his son in Louisiana from Feb. 7 through Feb. 10 ... but when he got into a squabble with Rocker, and then subsequently missed a urine test on Feb. 11, officials wanted to know more.

Conor McGregor just formally moved to overturn the result of his recent civil assault case in Ireland.

Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ Sports ... McGregor filed an appeal with the courts last Friday in an effort to clear himself following a jury's November ruling that he was liable for assaulting Nikita Ni Lamhain.

The case, as you know, stemmed from allegations Ni Lamhain -- AKA Nikita Hand -- made against the fighter in a lawsuit years ago. Hand claimed McGregor had sex with her against her will at a hotel ... after he picked her up from a 2018 Christmas party.

Roughly half a million dollars worth of jewelry was allegedly stolen from Olivier Giroud's Los Angeles-area home during a burglary earlier this month, TMZ Sports has learned.

Law enforcement tells us ... the break-in was reported to cops by the soccer star's wife on Feb. 5 -- after she had discovered a smashed window at their property.

We're told Giroud's partner noted several pricey items were taken in the burglary -- including over 10 men's watches. She told officers the value of the missing stuff was close to $500,000.
