The Jays understood their assignment as soon as manager John Schneider told the team to enjoy the moment as they "earned the f*** out of this" ... 'cause the clubhouse was damn near unrecognizable just seconds later.

Doug Martin's family is shedding more light on the ex-NFL star's death ... revealing the 36-year-old privately struggled with mental health issues over the years -- and they were actively trying to get him help prior to his passing.

Martin's former agency -- Athletes First -- shared a statement on behalf of the family on Monday ... which explained how Martin's parents had contacted local authorities earlier in the night for "medical assistance."

The family said Doug became "overwhelmed and disoriented" ... which led him to leave the home and enter a neighbor's residence two doors down the street, where he was then taken into custody.

The TTU official implored his school's backers to do away with the craze on Monday ... just after the Big 12 promised hefty repercussions -- including fines and 15-yard flags -- if it continued.

"We need to help, not risk, penalizing our team for throwing tortillas," Hocutt said. "Simply, let's not do it."

2:28 PM PT -- Court documents TMZ Sports has obtained allege Kam Jones told cops "he did not know he was speeding and was running late for practice for the Indiana Pacers."

The docs also state Jones "did not know" the officer had initially been trying to pull him over.

Indiana Pacers rookie Kam Jones is currently behind bars just days before the NBA season -- the former Marquette standout was arrested after a "brief" police chase in Indianapolis.

Young and up-and-coming motocross star Aidan Zingg died after suffering a traumatic heart injury during a mid-race crash ... a coroner's report, obtained by TMZ Sports, states.

Zingg sustained the fatal wound while racing in the 2025 Mammoth Motocross event in Mammoth Lakes, Calif. back on June 28.

It's unclear exactly how Zingg wrecked his bike, but the coroner's report states the teen was found "face down" by medics ... and "unresponsive with no pulse and not breathing."
