Shannon Sharpe's attorney just revealed the Pro Football Hall of Famer made an offer to his rape accuser of "at least" $10 million to close out the case before it went public.

Lanny J. Davis -- who's representing Sharpe in the ESPN personality's civil sexual assault case against Jane Doe -- said in a meeting with reporters Tuesday the proposal was doled out during mediations with the plaintiff "within the last month or so."

Davis said Doe initially seemed to be considering it ... before she "suddenly without warning, walked away from our offer."

Anthony Edwards' bank account just got shafted by the NBA ... with the Minnesota Timberwolves hooper getting hit with a $50,000 fine for telling a Lakers fan his "dick bigger."

The league just announced the punishment on Tuesday ... saying the 23-year-old All-Star directed "inappropriate language" toward a fan -- as well as an "obscene gesture."

The incident went down with less than five minutes left in the third quarter of the Wolves' 117-95 Game 1 win over Los Angeles ... which naturally had some Purple and Gold supporters on edge.

Shannon Sharpe is vowing to sue his rape accuser for defamation ... in wake of the allegations she made against him in a bombshell lawsuit she filed on Sunday.

The ESPN personality addressed Jane Doe's explosive claims in a video that he posted to his Instagram page on Tuesday morning ... just minutes after the woman's attorney, Tony Buzbee, released an audio file to TMZ Sports that he says shows Sharpe threatening his client with "disturbing, aggressive, and dangerous" language.

Sharpe opened up his statement by claiming Doe's case "is a shakedown." He then accused Buzbee of orchestrating the attempted cash grab -- explaining he believes "Tony Buzbee targets Black men."

Jeremiah Kelly -- a freshman offensive lineman for the University of Cincinnati football team -- died unexpectedly Tuesday morning at his Ohio home.

The Bearcats shared the shocking news in a press release, with head coach Scott Satterfield saying ... "The Bearcats football family is heartbroken by the sudden loss of this outstanding young man."

Coach continued ... "In the short time Jeremiah has spent with our team, he has made a real impact, both on the field and in our locker room. My prayers are with the Kelly family and those who had the pleasure of knowing Jeremiah."

9:25 AM PT -- Shannon Sharpe and his attorney, Lanny J. Davis, have vowed to address the audio later Tuesday.

The Hall of Famer, Davis said, will make a statement on his Instagram page. The lawyer said he'd then follow that up with his own conference call a short time later.
