Jimmy Butler had himself one helluva Monday -- squashing beef with Dwyane Wade and going on a lunch date with a smokin' hot Instagram model ... and TMZ Sports has the video.

First, D-Wade ...

Everyone saw Dwyane clap back at Jimmy last week when the Minnesota Timberwolves star commented "WELL DAMN" on a hot photo of Wade's wife, Gabrielle Union.

Wade wrote to Butler, "Put well damn in caps on my wife photo again and you’re gonna see what the good, the bad and the ugly is like."

So, when we saw Butler at The Ivy in L.A. we had to ask if there was real smoke between the two. Butler answered and seemed to put the whole thing to bed.

Speaking of bed ... Butler's lunch date was an absolute dime -- and while he tried to play coy when leaving the restaurant, we ID'd her as famous Instagram model India Love.

Love is an aspiring rapper who's been romantically linked to stars like The Game, Rick Ross and Drake. She's basically a she-pimp (get it, gurl!) with 3.7 million IG followers.

No word if she and Butler are an item -- but we wouldn't hate if they were!

Trevor Bauer is much less pissed off at ESPN today ... 'cause it turns out the company DIDN'T actually air a tweet that he says made him look like a "lunatic" after all.

ICYMI ... the Indians superstar is famous for being a baseball brainiac -- and when he broke his leg last week, a reporter had some fun at Trevor's expense with the diagnosis news.

"Trevor Bauer says that the doctors' timeline for his return is based on outdated mainstream medicine and he's begun a course of blood transfusions and colloidal silver to rid his body of CIA nanites," Ringer staff writer Michael Baumann tweeted.

"He anticipates missing two starts, three tops."

Bauer initially found the tweet hilarious ... but when he believed MLB Network and ESPN ran with the tweet as fact -- he was not happy.

"Presenting it as fact on tv, thus painting me as some lunatic that’s off his rocker, is not ok at all," Bauer tweeted.

He continued in another tweet: "Hey @MLBNetwork and @espn I would like public statements on social media and on your networks clarifying that the information you wrongly reported as fact earlier regarding my recovery timetable and process is false and not a quote from me. The report is damaging and absurd."

Turns out ... ESPN didn't actually run the tweet -- which caused Trevor to issue a 35-second apology video Monday evening.

"It appears the information I was given and what I believed to have seen was wrong, and ESPN never aired the fake tweet."

Chicago White Sox manager Rick Renteria was transported to a hospital in Minnesota on Monday after falling ill at Target Stadium ... but he appears to be okay.

Renteria and the Sox were gearing up to play the Twins on Monday when Rick began to feel lightheaded, according to the AP.

The team didn't mess around -- and the 56-year-old was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center for treatment.

The good news ... the team told the AP preliminary test results are good and he doesn't appear to be in danger.

In the meantime, Joe McEwing will take over for Renteria.

It's a tight race in the NL West ... but Eric Karros says he's 100% convinced the Dodgers will scrap together a late season push and make the playoffs.

Also, he's super biased.

Karros -- the L.A. Dodgers' all-time home run leader -- has been involved with the Dodgers organization since 1991. So, he bleeds Dodger Blue, but he also knows when a team is doomed.

So, with the Dodgers currently 1.5 games out of the NL Wild Card spot with only 37 games left in the season ... and only winning 4 out of the last 10 games ... we asked if it's time to stick a fork in 'em.

Matt Barnes is gearing up for Baby #3 -- his model girlfriend is pregnant ... and we're told they're both stoked about it!

The recently retired NBA star has been dating Anansa Sims -- daughter of legendary supermodel Beverly Johnson, as reported by Bossip. Anansa is a pretty famous self-described plus-size model who's been featured in tons of fashion mags.

Sources tell us ... Anansa is due in December.

As for their relationship, we're told -- "They are both happy and their families and friends are super supportive."

One source close to Matt tells us, "She's just really sweet and brings out the best in him. It's a good pairing."

Anansa has three kids from a previous relationship with ex-football player David Patterson. Barnes has twins from his previous relationship with Gloria Govan.

Adrian Peterson believes he's a hell of a mentor -- and proved that in New Orleans -- but it's obvious he wants a shot at real playing time in Washington.

The 33-year-old veteran just signed a deal with the Redskins -- where Rob Kelley and Samaje Perine were carrying the load at running back.

We spoke with Peterson back in March and asked him if he'd really be cool playing second fiddle at his next stop ... and he was adamant he'll do whatever it takes to help a team win.

In fact, Peterson told us he feels he was a crucial part of Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram's development during his stint with the Saints ... and would bring that attitude to the next team.

But Peterson says he still has superior abilities on the field -- and won't be content as a player/coach. Dude wants to play.

We also spoke with Redskins legend Joe Theismann -- who believes A.P. can still be a real asset on the field ... but "on a limited basis."

Season starts in 3 weeks. Things could get very interesting ...

Well, Jon Gruden hates Tom Cruise movies.

The Oakland Raiders coach was asked about his reported $100 million deal with the team -- and while trying to explain his high salary ... he randomly took a shot at Tom Cruise.

Here's the quote from his interview with Peter King ...

"I’m not making $100 million, just so you know. Well, I never thought Tom Cruise, never thought his movies were any good but he’s making plenty of money."

Weird and random Tom Cruise shot -- but alas, there's more.

"There’s a lot of things that I don’t understand. No disrespect to Tom Cruise. I’m sure he’s a great actor. But you know what? You just go about your life as hard as you can. You try to find something you love and you do the best you can at it."

No word on why Jon dragged Tom Cruise into the conversation -- maybe he finally got around to seeing "Rock of Ages" or "The Mummy" ... both trash.

But what Gruden's clearly forgetting in his weird Tom Cruise rant is "Top Gun" and "Jerry Maguire" and "Jack Reacher" (the first one) was actually pretty solid.

And several people in this office are adamant the new 'Mission Impossible' movie was "f**king awesome" and they're actually mad at Gruden for throwing shade.

Derrius Guice ripped up his knee in Washington's first preseason game earlier this month ... and now, he's turning to legendary doc James Andrews to sew his ACL back together.

In case you're unfamiliar ... James is a magician with a scalpel -- having fixed just about every injured star athlete known to man (including John Cena when he had that NASTY elbow injury in 2013).

Did you know ... Michael Phelps got a $1,000,000 bonus check for racking up 8 gold medals at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing???

Neither did we ... but it's true -- and what's even cooler is the way Phelps spent the money.

"10 years ago after winning 8 golds in Beijing I received a million dollar bonus," Phelps said on Instagram.

"There was one thing and one thing only that I wanted to do with that bonus. I started the [Michael Phelps Foundation]."

Phelps says the foundation was initially created to teach the importance of water safety and how to live healthy and active lifestyles.

But since then, Phelps has dealt with substance abuse and mental health issues -- and says he's drawing from his own experience to help others.

"Since becoming aware of the importance of my own mental health we have worked hard to add a mental health awareness component. I’m incredibly proud of how far my foundation has come, but there’s still more work to be done!!!"

Matt Barnes just hit Mario Chalmers with an epic diss ... telling the ex-Miami Heat star he straight-up has MOOBS!!

It all went down in the comments section of Chalmers' latest IG post -- an innocent pic of a shirtless Mario announcing he's about to have a baby with his girlfriend, Paijey Baby. She's 7 and a half months preggo!

Barnes -- who played with Mario in Memphis in the 2015-16 season -- was one of the first to see it ... and decided to celebrate with a friendly body shaming zing.

"Congrats bro! I see you carrying the milk for her," the ex-NBA star wrote.

The family beef is well known -- hell, they even played it up during Jordan's season on "The Bachelorette" -- but people in Aaron's life had been trying to convince him to reconcile.

Doesn't seem like it worked ... because when Jordan posted pics from his birthday bash in Bowling Green, Kentucky on Saturday -- we saw brother Luke and dad Edward but no Aaron.

One source who was there confirms to TMZ Sports Aaron did not attend.

JoJo Fletcher -- the woman Jordan proposed to on "The Bachelorette" -- was there (she's in the gold wig). So was Luke's fiancee, Aimee.

If you're wondering, the Packers had a preseason game on Thursday ... so, it would have been theoretically possible for the QB to make it.

Jake Paul can multitask -- here he is threatening to "f**k up" Deji ... while some dude repeatedly punches him in the stomach!

Jake and Deji are just 5 days away from their boxing match in England -- an event that some say could have more viewers than Mayweather vs. McGregor.

The main event features Jake and Deji's older brothers -- Logan Paul vs. KSI -- two YouTube stars who both claim they're using this fight as a step toward becoming pro fighters.

As for Jake and Deji -- no pro aspirations here ... these guys just hate each other.

If the allegations against Urban Meyer are true -- that he covered up domestic violence -- his punishment must be "severe" ... so says Eddie George.

Of course, the results of the independent investigation into the OSU football program surrounding Zach Smith have not been released yet. That could happen as soon as this week.

Smith's ex-wife, Courtney, claims Meyer MUST have known about the alleged domestic violence incidents -- but covered them up to protect the football program.

George says he trusts the investigation will uncover the truth -- but says the school can't mess around when it comes to D.V.

"Domestic violence is unacceptable at any level," the OSU legend says.

"If it is indeed that, then the punishment needs to be handed down and it should be severe. There's no way that someone should cover up anything of that magnitude."
