According to IndyCar Series' official Twitter account, Wickens was awake and alert as he was being transported to nearby Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. At least 4 other drivers involved in the wreck were reportedly being treated on the scene as well.

Pearl Jam at Wrigley Field Here's 'Jeremy' ... and Dennis Rodman

Published | Updated

Pearl Jam brought out a very special guest at their Chicago concert this weekend -- none other North Korea's #1 man Dennis Rodman ... who had some, uh, interesting things to say.

The former Bulls star made an appearance Saturday night at PJ's Wrigley Field set and told Chitowners he was thankful for their continued support while he unofficially lobbied for the U.S. with Kim Jong-un ... which unofficially resulted in an actual meeting recently.

Dennis told the crowd ... "You people here are the only people on this planet Earth [that] gave me support. Thank all you guys!" He continued with a promise to the Windy City, saying when he died ... he'd "make sure" to be buried in Chicago. The audience ate it up.

Eddie Vedder told him to put off his death for as long as possible. Well said.

Baseball Nun Throws Out Epic First Pitch ... Sweet Tricks Included!

Published | Updated

Here's something you don't see everyday ... a nun that could probably come out of the bullpen for the White Sox if she tightened up her curve ball.

Sister Mary Jo Sobiek of Marian Catholic High School was tasked with throwing out the first pitch Saturday at Guaranteed Rate Field in honor of her institution. Perhaps to everyone's surprise ... she dished out a wicked toss from the mound to kick off the game.

It wasn't just the pitch that impressed ... Sister Mary Jo also had a nice little arm trick up her sleeve -- knocking the ball off the inside of her elbow and catching it again. BADASS!!!!

Sadly, the Sox couldn't ride SMJ's coattails to a win -- they ended up losing to the Kansas City Royals, who are last place in their division. At least we got a nice follow-up sister act in Chicago though!

'Memba 98-year-old Sister Jean during Loyola-Chicago's Cinderella run during March Madness?? Of course you do.

SEE ME IN THE OCTAGON!

T.J. Dillashaw is doubling down on his threats to beat Gervonta Davis' ass in the Octagon ... telling TMZ Sports he REALLY wants to show the boxer "what real fighting is all about!!"

T.J. and Gervonta got in an epic Twitter war last week -- trading all kinds of insults -- and actually challenged each other to a fight.

When the UFC superstar dropped by the TMZ newsroom this week ... he took a break from trash-talking Henry Cejudo to tell us he's dead serious about a future tilt with Gervonta.

"This is a guy I would love to step into the Octagon and show him what fighting is really about," Dillashaw says.

Of course ... Gervonta's never fought in the Octagon before -- so the match would take some time to come together.

But ... T.J. sounds like he's willing to wait.

PETUNIA TAKES A TUMBLE

We're so used to seeing Teyana Taylor absolutely SLAY when she's busting a move ... except when she runs out of real estate, which is what led to a nasty-looking tumble off stage.

The crazy fall went down at PlayStation Theater in NYC where she was performing her set in the tour formerly known as the Later That Night tour (more on that in a bit). You see Teyana doing what she does best -- move her body -- when, outta nowhere, BAM ... she slips.

You can see her left foot lose grip ... and though it looked like an awkward fall (that right knee appears to bend like no knee should ever bend), Teyana quickly gets up and doesn't skip a beat.

Unclear if hubby and NBA player Iman Shumpert was in the crowd during the tumble.

It's interesting ... this was the last time Teyana performed in the Later That Night tour. As we reported ... Teyana hijacked the tour Jeremih was headlining and rebranded it the KTSE on Aisle VII tour.

GOTTA EARN THE RESPECT

LaDainian Tomlinson has ZERO sympathy for Broncos players who got wack haircuts this week ... 'cause back when he was a rookie -- he was hazed to the tune of a near $20,000 dinner check!!

We got the legendary Charger out at LAX when he told us the Denver hazing story doesn't even compare to what he went through as a first-year player in 2001.

"The late Junior Seau and the veterans hazed me by taking me to dinner and spending $18,000 of my money!" L.T. tells TMZ Sports.

Don't feel too bad ... Tomlinson not only went on to earn more than $56 MILLION in his career -- he tells us he "absolutely" repaid the favor to rookies when he was a vet!!

WE LOVE THE COMMUNITY

Shaunie O'Neal says life at the ultra-exclusive Crossroads School in L.A. will be a breeze for LeBron James Jr. ... because her son Shareef O'Neal educated the institute on how to deal with a celebrity student.

Shareef transferred into Crossroads after his sophomore year in high school, and Shaunie thinks all the media coverage he got will help Bronny, who as the son of LeBron James will probably get more.

But, it's not just the media ... Shaquille's ex-wife thinks Bronny will also benefit from the fact that the school is now more equipped on how to get superstar offspring ready for college.

"When Baron was there the rules like NCAA rules were so drastically different then they are now, and it was fortunate but unfortunate that they were learning that process with Shareef ... They hadn't had a student athlete on that level since Baron."

BTW -- O'Neal's youngest son Shaqir is also currently at Crossroads, and at 15 he's already 6'3" according to Shaunie.

Gonna be a fun couple of years in Santa Monica (that's the rich-ass neighborhood the school is in).

He's reportedly named after Alex's uncle, who died when he was 10.

Ovechkin's kid was born in South Florida, meaning he'll have both Russian and American citizenship.

Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.

The Conn Smythe winner took to Instagram to post a pic holding his son's foot and thanking his wife, writing ... "Thank you my girl for the very best day of my life."

Congrats!!

Carson Palmer Sells Epic Arizona Palace ... After Cardinals Retirement

Published | Updated

Did you know Carson Palmer lived like Pablo freakin' Escobar during his time as QB of the Cardinals?!?!

It's true ... 'cause TMZ Sports has learned the ex-NFL superstar just sold his mansion now that he's retired -- and the place was EPIC!!

The palace -- located just north of Scottsdale in (fittingly) Paradise Valley -- was a whopping 6,785 square feet and had 6 bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms, a pool AND A MOVIE THEATER!!

It coulda been all yours too ... but somebody just snatched it off the market for $2.9 MILLION -- according to David Khalaj from Pro Sports Realty.

PEARLS OF WISDOM

We spotted NY Yankees legend David Wells out in NYC -- and asked if he had any advice for Luis Severino, the Yankees ace who's been struggling recently.

Wells told us he doesn't watch much baseball these days ... but did drop a few pearls of wisdom for the 24-year-old fireballer.

"S**t happens when you struggle ... find a way out of it!"

The clip is pretty great ... Wells talks locker room stories, golf and even gives props to our photog for dodging obstacles in the street.

I DESERVE THE HALL OF FAME

Andre Rison sure as hell wishes Terrell Owens hadn't blown off his Pro Football Hall of Fame induction ceremony ... 'cause he's telling TMZ Sports that REALLY HURT his chances at getting in!!

The legendary Falcon was one of the baddest receivers in the game ... and his career numbers stack up with just about every wideout in the Hall.

But ... he tells us his HOF candidacy -- which didn't have a whole lot of steam to begin with from NFL writers -- took a serious hit when T.O. pulled out of Canton earlier this month.

"When I hear T.O.'s argument, I know it's valid, I know it's good, but I really wish he would've went," Rison says.

"Because he does make it hard sometimes for guys like myself, who was a rough rider."

Rison says he's not going to complain about it ... he's just trying to let his numbers do the talking.

And, if you listen to him list his career accomplishments ... dude's actually got a point!!

NFL's Kendall Wright Ordered to Pay $400,000! ... In Human Stock Exchange Case

Published | Updated

Talk about return on investment ... a judge has ordered Vikings WR Kendall Wright to pay nearly $400,000 to a company that sells stock in professional athletes.

As we previously reported ... Fantex, Inc. -- a business that makes deals with athletes to sell "shares" to fans who believe the athletes are destined for big paydays -- sued Kendall back in January.

They claimed after they signed a deal with Wright in 2015 that offered him $3.125 mil for 10% of his future earnings ... he didn't pay up.

A judge signed off on an order this week in which the wideout will have to pay Fantex $386,055.83 ($349,157.22 in damages and $36,898.61 in attorney fees).

FYI ... Wright is currently on the roster bubble in Minnesota after inking an $1 million deal with the team this offseason.

NBA Commish Adam Silver Death Threat Sender Gets Break ... Charges Dropped

Published | Updated

The man who threatened to kill Adam Silver over an NBA roster spot just caught a huge break ... and he has the commish to thank for it.

27-year-old David Pyant was arrested and charged with aggravated harassment back in May after sending an email to Silver, saying "If you don't let me play, I'm going to come up there and kill you with my f*cking gun."

But, Pyant won't be serving any time for the threat, 'cause TMZ Sports has learned Silver simply did not want to move forward with the case ... and the charges were dropped.

It's a HUGE break for the guy ... he was facing up to a year in jail.

Now go work on your jumper.

"G-Men going all the way this year," he tells TMZ Sports. "We're going to the Bowl! I said it first!"

The rapper was leaving Palace Hotel in NYC when he made the bold prediction ... and his thoughts on the Giants didn't end there.

BIG TIME TALENT

Eddie George is singing the praises of his new boss -- saying it was a PLEASURE starring in Tim Tebow's new movie ... and he thinks the guy could win an Oscar one day.

FYI, Eddie is one of the main roles in "Run the Race" -- a story about two brothers who use sports to overcome personal tragedies in their lives.

It's a faith-based, feel-good story -- so, it's perfect for Tim Tebow who produced the flick with his brother, Robby Tebow.

Eddie -- who plays a college recruiter in the movie -- says the Tebows did a "tremendous job" behind the scenes and show real promise when it comes to the business side of movie making.

"There's no limit to what [Tim] can do ... who knows, he could write a story that could win him an Oscar one day!"

Hey, if Kobe can do it ...
