Charles Oakley is learning the hard way ... if you try to cheat a Vegas casino, you'll end up behind bars.

TMZ Sports has learned ... the ex-NBA star was arrested at the Cosmopolitan on July 8 after allegedly trying to pull a fast one during a gambling session -- and it was all caught on video.

Officials from the Nevada Gaming Board tell us Oakley "was suspected of adding to or reducing his wager on a gambling game after the outcome was known."

Unclear what game he was playing at the time -- but one source with knowledge of the incident says Oak tried to pull back a $100 chip after he realized he was going to lose.

FYI, Oakley reportedly made more than $46 mil during his NBA career.

Oak was confronted about the incident -- and it was kicked over to a security team which reviewed the casino video footage ... confirming the alleged cheating.

The 54-year-old was taken into custody at 5:30 PM and booked into Clark County Detention Center.

Oak's gambling charge is serious business -- "to commit or attempt to commit a fraudulent act in a gaming establishment." He faces between 1 to 6 years in prison if convicted.

Drew Brees' kids should now know this definition well, having been ruthlessly destroyed by Lions WR Golden Tate while trying to guard him one-on-one with no safety help.

The life lesson went down at Santa Fe Christian High School where Brees was working out alongside other NFL guys like Tate, Darren Sproles and Michael Thomas.

At some point it was time for the kids to get in on the action, and the resulting carnage was caught on video as both Brees kids get turned around like J Lo walked by.

LeBron James is already making moves in Hollywood -- the newest Lakers star just sold a movie project to Paramount Players ... and he's making a play for the starring role.

The project is a comedy movie, according to Variety ... which says Bron has been developing the flick with his production company, SpringHill Entertainment, and writer Steve Mallory.

Mallory wrote the Melissa McCarthy movie "The Boss" and he's working on her next project, "Superintelligence."

LeBron is producing the flick with his business partner, Maverick Carter.

It's not Bron's first big Hollywood deal -- he's already got a "House Party" reboot in the works and is working on the new "Space Jam" movie.

7/12 -- Schnatter has now also resigned as chairman of Papa John's International.

Papa John's founder John Schnatter is quitting his post at the University of Louisville after he was called out for using the n-word during a meeting to, ironically, discuss his comeback from a different controversy.

Schnatter resigned from the University's Board of Trustees Wednesday hours after the NAACP called for him to step down ... on the heels of Schnatter confirming reports he dropped the racial epithet back in May. The pizza mogul was on a conference call with a marketing agency he'd hired to help him deal with the blowback he faced for criticizing the NFL's national anthem policy.

Forbes reported Schnatter questioned why he was being criticized, because "Colonel Sanders called blacks n***ers" and got away with it. He also reportedly spoke nonchalantly about growing up in Indiana where black people were dragged to death.

The University of Louisville said it doesn't condone racism ... but added it doesn't think Schnatter's comments "reflect his personal beliefs or values."

Errol Spence Jr. -- one of the top boxers in the world -- has a tip for Pacman Jones the next time a dude runs up on him ... stop lunging so much!!

We got Spence out at Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles and showed him the tape of Pacman's airport brawl ... and Errol provided analysis and a message to the NFL cornerback to take into his next bout.

First ... the boxer gives Jones props for the "mean right" that put the ABM employee, who police say instigated the fight, to sleep.

Next -- Errol commends Jones for handling business in an airport with no preparation.

But then, Spence keeps it real ... saying Jones needs to stop with the lunging punches -- otherwise HE might be the one takin' mugshots in a hospital bed after the fight.

"If the dude could really fight, he probably would have caught Pacman with a shot -- step back and hit him with a straight right or something like that."

All in all, though ... Errol's good with Jones' performance.

Frankie Edgar says Brian Ortega pissed off the wrong people by turning down a replacement fight at UFC 226 ... and now his chances at another title fight could be ruined.

TMZ Sports spoke with The Answer about Ortega passing on Jeremy Stephens after Max Holloway backed out due to injury ... and Edgar says that could come back to haunt T-City in a big way.

"Sometimes when you have the chance to fight for a title or an interim title, you gotta jump on it," Edgar says. "Because who knows, now that Brian pissed off UFC and company, maybe they might not give him that shot."

Ex-UCLA basketball star Billy Knight was arrested back in June after officials say he sexually abused a child ... and sources say the victim was only 9 years old.

TMZ Sports has learned ... in the weeks before Knight apparently killed himself, the 39-year-old was arrested and charged with 6 felonies for sexual encounters involving a girl under the age of 15.

Officials tell us ... Knight was arrested in Phoenix, Arizona on June 13.

Prosecutors in Maricopa County charged Knight with multiple counts of sexual conduct with a minor, sexual abuse and molestation of a child.

In court docs, obtained by TMZ Sports, prosecutors say some of the abuse took place at the victim's home -- and on her mother's bed.

Arizona is particularly tough when it comes to sex crimes involving minors -- and it appears he was facing more than 50 YEARS in prison if convicted on all charges.

Knight posted his $100,000 bail and was released from custody in June -- but ordered to wear an electronic monitoring device.

However, the victim's mother told cops Knight violated the terms of his release by contacting her several times and even appearing at her home.

He was due back in court in the coming weeks.

The man who attacked Pacman Jones took his official police mug shot in his hospital bed ... and TMZ Sports has the pic.

You're looking at Frank Ragin -- the ABM employee who police say instigated a fight with the NFL star at the Atlanta International Airport late Tuesday evening.

In the footage obtained by TMZ Sports, you can see Ragin aggressively step to Jones and then attack him.

Once Jones found his bearings, he unleashed an attack of his own on Ragin and eventually knocked him out with an overhand right.

Cops arrested Ragin on 2 counts of battery -- but could NOT immediately take him to the police station to be booked, because he needed to be treated for his injuries.

Cardinals superstar David Johnson's out to prove he's back ... and he's doing so by throwing nearly half a thousand pounds ON his back!

The stud RB put 495 pounds on the barbell Wednesday and squatted it ... THREE TIMES!!

FYI -- Johnson missed 15 games last season 'cause of a wrist injury he suffered in Week 1 ... but, clearly, dude's no worse for wear heading into this season.

Boxer Victor Ortiz is a wanted man ... after officials said he violated his probation in his DUI case -- and now a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

As we previously reported, the former WBC welterweight champ -- and "Dancing with the Stars" contestant -- was busted for drunk driving back in 2016 and was later sentenced to 3 years probation.

Well ... according to court docs, he was supposed to check in with his probation officer on June 20 -- but failed to do so -- and was then ordered to appear in court on July 10.

He blew that off too ... so a violation of probation warrant was issued.

It's not like cops will be out hunting Ortiz down -- but if he has a brush with the law, he'll be arrested and hauled into court. Bail has already been set at $5,000.

TMZ Sports has obtained video of Pacman Jones in a full-on FIST FIGHT at the Atlanta airport -- showing the NFL star retaliate violently after he was attacked by a man who works at the airport.

Cops told us the altercation began when the ABM employee -- Frank Ragin -- made a gesture toward the NFL star as he was walking through the airport with a female companion.

You can see in the video ... Pacman (real name Adam Jones) calls out the guy and confronts him.

Ragin -- still wearing his orange airport vest -- goes after Jones, initiating the fight.

Jones tries to take off his backpack, but instead throws a haymaker at Ragin. The two exchange shots until Pacman lands the knockdown blow with an overhand right, sending Ragin to the floor.

After Jones landed a few more shots, the fight was broken up.

The NBA legend was leaving Madeo in Beverly Hills on Tuesday when he hit Lakers nation with a cold, hard dose of reality -- LeBron James can't single-handedly save the Lake Show.

NFL star Pacman Jones was involved in a violent altercation at the Atlanta airport -- when he was attacked by an employee ... TMZ Sports has learned.

Jones had touched down at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport on Tuesday evening when cops say ABM employee Frank Ragin "made a gesture towards Adam Jones."

Officials tell TMZ Sports ... Pacman confronted the man about the gesture and a verbal altercation broke out.

"Mr. Ragin eventually struck Mr. Jones with a closed fist," cops say ... "causing a laceration to Mr. Jones’ face."

"Mr. Jones then started to defend himself, causing Mr. Ragin to fall to the ground."

During the fight, cops say Ragin also hit Pacman's female companion -- injuring her hand.

Officials determined Ragin -- NOT Pacman -- was the primary aggressor and he was arrested for 2 counts of battery.

Pacman and his friend declined medical treatment -- but Ragin was transported to a nearby hospital to be treated for injuries.

Tim Tebow's mother, Pamela, tells TMZ Sports her son is ready to play in the Big Leagues ... and she couldn't be more proud of the way he's playing!

FYI, Tim's been raking down in the minor leagues -- earning a spot in the Eastern League All-Star Game -- and Mama Tebow says he's ready for the call up to the Mets' MLB roster.

"We're partial, so we would vote for him to go up to the majors," Pam said at LAX ... "But, it's not up to us!"

We also asked how the Tebow family felt when Tim decided to make the switch from football to baseball -- and she was super candid about it.

"Timmy never had any bitterness. He had such a great attitude, because he believed it was God's plan for him. And then, we just all supported him because he still had a competitive drive."

"And he just still wanted to play ball. So baseball was second, so why not try it?"

"I think he's an example for all the little boys that maybe are afraid to try something because people don't think they'll succeed. So, you don't make it? At least you tried! That's what his main purpose is, he really wants to be a good example for them."

The victim in the LeSean McCoy home invasion has lawyered up and appears to be pointing the finger at the NFL star ... implying he had a role in the violent incident that left her bloody and beaten.

Delicia Cordon has hired attorney Tanya Mitchell Graham -- who issued a statement saying Delicia was sleeping early Tuesday morning when a man entered her Georgia home and pistol whipped her.

Graham says the assailant demanded specific items of jewelry that had been given to her by McCoy -- jewelry that McCoy had previously demanded she return to him. She claims the victim also sustained injuries to her wrist when the assailant tried to rip off her bracelet.

Graham claims before the incident, McCoy "would often suggest to Ms. Cordon that she could be robbed because the jewelry was expensive."

Graham -- who's joined by associate attorneys Demetrius Price and Kiarra Brown -- never straight-up accuses McCoy of criminal activity, but strongly implies it.

For example, Graham claims the assailant entered the house with NO signs of forced entry. She also claims McCoy changed the security system at the house and did not give Cordon access to the new one.

She also claims McCoy has a documented history of having other people do his dirty work for him -- and references the time he allegedly ordered other people to evict her from his home in June and remove her furniture from the house.

Graham says despite the fact Cordon and McCoy have had a relationship since 2016, he has NOT called to check in on her since the details of the violent attack went public.
