STICKING UP FOR HIS MAN

The dude who shoved Brock Lesnar at UFC 226 says he ain't done with the WWE monster just yet ... and now he's threatening EVEN MORE violence!

Okay, backstory ... remember when Brock shoved DC in the Octagon after Cormier beat Stipe Miocic?

If you watch closely, you can see a guy from Cormier's camp step in and PUSH Brock in retaliation -- actually knocking the ex-UFC champ off-balance.

That dude is Cormier's 5'3"-ish boxing coach, Rosendo Sanchez -- and we called the guy up to ask one very important question ... WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!

BETWEEN A BROCK AND A HARD PLACE

Sanchez says it was all about having his friend's back -- and when he saw Brock attack Cormier, "I'm like, 'F*ck it, I'm going in!'"

Rosendo wasn't done with the trash talking there ... telling us that when Cormier finally gets in the Octagon with Lesnar for real, it ain't gonna be pretty.

"Watch the f*ck out, 'cause we're whooping your ass."

Kermit Washington 6 Years In Prison ... For Charity Scam

Published | Updated

Ex-NBA star Kermit Washington was just sentenced to 6 years in prison ... and ordered to pay almost $1 MILLION in restitution for stealing money meant for charity ... TMZ Sports has learned.

Washington -- a 66-year-old former NBA All-Star who played for the Lakers and Celtics -- was sentenced by a federal judge in Missouri after pleading guilty to 3 felonies and admitting to scamming people out of huge donations.

Officials say Washington used his fame to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars meant for several African charities -- money which he diverted and used to fund a lavish lifestyle ... including shopping sprees and plastic surgery for his GF.

K.W. -- who was arrested in May 2016 -- was facing 45 years.

In addition to the 6-year prison sentence, the judge also ordered Kermit to pay $967,158 in restitution.

Washington was immediately taken into custody.

See ya in 2024.

By the way, Kermit was the guy who famously punched Rudy Tomjanovich in the face during a violent NBA brawl in 1977.

Despite the brutal injuries Rudy suffered at the time, he told TMZ Sports he "feels sorry" for Kermit and hopes for the best for him.

USC Crushes Steve Sarkisian In $30 Mil Wrongful Termination Suit

Published | Updated

4:28 PM PT -- Steve has issued a statement to TMZ Sports ... saying, "I am disappointed in the decision, but we will respect it and move on."

"Much gratitude to everyone who has shown their support and stood by me."

"The last two years have been trying, but I am in now a great place, healthy, happy and loving my job with the Falcons and have the support of my family and friends and that’s where my focus is and will remain."

USC had every right to fire Steve Sarkisian after a drunken meltdown in 2015 ... so says an arbitrator who ruled the University owes ZERO dollars to the ex-football coach who had sued for $30 MILLION.

TMZ Sports broke the story ... Sark filed a wrongful termination lawsuit against the school claiming SC "kicked him to the curb" instead of getting him help for his alcoholism, which he argued was a "recognized disability under California law."

The case went to an arbitrator who denied every single one of Sark's claims -- explaining the coach was "not terminated on the basis of any disability," but rather for misconduct in breach of his contract.

USC argued that it tried to get help for Sark after an embarrassing booze-fueled rant at a Salute to Troy event in August 2015, but at the time Steve claimed he was NOT an alcoholic and attributed the behavior to a bad reaction from mixing Rx pills with beers.

USC had Sark sign a "last-chance agreement" requiring him to apologize for his behavior and attend weekly counseling sessions with substance abuse specialists. USC also warned Sark that any further incident that embarrassed the school would "constitute immediate termination for cause."

Sark signed the document, but USC says at the time he adamantly denied having a drinking problem.

Two months later, Sark had a drunken meltdown in the days after a loss to the University of Washington and was put on an indefinite leave on Oct 11. USC fired him on Oct. 12.

After the firing, Sark finally publicly acknowledged his drinking problem and got help -- but, the arbitrator says California disability laws "[do] not insulate the failure to control a controllable disability nor afford an employee a second chance to control a disability in the future."

In docs obtained by TMZ Sports, the arbitrator explains, "Sarkisian must bear sole responsibility for having actively concealed from USC his claimed disabilities."

In his suit, Sark claimed USC at the very least owed him the remainder of his huge contract -- $12.6 mil -- plus damages.

The arbitrator shot him down in every way.

The good news ... Sark has said he's clean and sober now and seems to be doing well in his new job as the offensive coordinator for the Atlanta Falcons.

Matt Barnes I'd Love to See Kobe Unretire ... To Play with LeBron!

Published | Updated

Could Kobe Bryant come back from retirement at 39 years old to play one final season with LeBron James?

Matt Barnes says that would be dope as hell ... but highly unlikely.

There have been rumors (mostly wishful thinking) that Mamba would lace 'em up for one last ride in the Purple & Gold to take a run at the Golden State Warriors alongside King James.

We know Matt and Kobe are friends -- so, we asked ... is it a real possibility?

Long story short ... Barnes says don't bet on seeing #8 or #24 back on the court -- but, "that would be dope though."

We also asked Barnes what he thought about Patrick Beverley telling TMZ Sports his Clippers are BETTER than the Warriors ... and Matt hits the NBA with a dose of cold hard reality.

LeBron Mural Artist Not Mad At Vandal 'Every Story Needs a Villain'

Published | Updated

Jonas Never -- the guy who painted the new dope LeBron mural in L.A. -- says he ain't pissed his piece got tagged only hours after its completion ... telling TMZ Sports it took just 20 minutes to fix!!

The kick-ass artist spent 12 painstaking hours putting his "King of L.A." LeBron mural on Baby Blues BBQ in Venice ... and just moments after it was finished -- somebody drew all over it.

Jonas tells us it's all good -- it was an easy fix ... but he does have a question for the dude who tagged it.

"I'd ask him, seriously, if they were a Laker fan, I don't get how a Laker fan could be mad about getting the best player in the game right now."

Jonas says they've added some new lighting and security cams to make sure he doesn't have to retouch it again ... but if it comes down to it -- he ain't sweatin' it.

"It's like getting a Mercedes and worrying about someone dinging it in a parking lot. It happens."

FRESH LEGS, FRESH START

A healthy Odell Beckham ... a new left tackle ... a couple high draft picks -- Saquon Barkley says it'll all turn Eli Manning's career back around!!

... Maybe.

We got the NY Giants' star rookie leaving Delilah and had to ask ... will all the team's new additions be enough to make Eli a good QB again??

"Hopefully!" he told TMZ Sports. "Hopefully. I think Eli looked great in camp."

Saquon knows all about what it takes to carry something heavy (did you see his uphill farmer's carry?!) ... but we gotta say, lifting Manning out of his end-of-career funk seems like a helluva task.

But hey, good luck!!

NO PAIN, NO GAIN

How many stitches did it take to close all the bloody gashes on Paul Felder's face after his war with Mike Perry at UFC 226???

Well, TMZ Sports has the answer ... thanks to Paul -- who gave us a video tour of his injuries -- and it's pretty graphic stuff!

Paul -- who's gotta be one of the toughest guys on the planet -- fought ALL 3 ROUNDS with Perry Saturday night despite breaking his arm in round 1. He even threw spinning backfists AFTER the injury!

Felder says he was pretty numb to the pain during the fight -- but could hear the clicking of his broken forearm when he tried to make a fist!!!

Felder's manager posted a crazy video showing doctors stitching him up -- and dude DOESN'T FLINCH after getting his massive gash flushed out with a big ass needle.

Don't worry, Felder says he'll be okay -- though he doesn't know how long he'll be out.

He does dish out some solid advice though -- "Stay in school, kids. Stay in school."

Cristiano Ronaldo Tanning In Greece ... Amid Juventus Rumors

Published | Updated

While the international soccer world freaks out over rumors Cristiano Ronaldo will leave Real Madrid for Juventus ... CR7 couldn't be more relaxed -- chillin' on a beach in Greece.

TMZ Sports has photos of Ronaldo on Monday afternoon outside a 5-star resort in Messinia, Greece ... where he caught some rays with his girlfriend (maybe fiancee?), Georgina Rodriguez.

Witnesses tell us Ronaldo and his crew had their own private area -- complete with a massive, private security team.

We're told it appears Cristiano is with 15 to 20 people ... including several family members and his kids.

One source says CR7 is staying at a massive private villa on the beach -- and, when he's not tanning on the sand, he's being chauffeured around in golf carts (like a boss!).

According to reports, Ronaldo's move to Juventus could be announced any day now -- ending his 9-season run with Real Madrid.

The move is estimated to cost Juventus around $450 MILLION to sign Ronaldo through 2022 -- but, experts say it could be worth it because Ronaldo is the most bankable athlete in the world.

Meanwhile, don't forget the SPF ...

Olivia Culpo Bikini Photo Shoot ... In 115 Degrees!!!

Don't think bikini models are tough? Try striking poses all day long in a 115 degree desert ... like Olivia Culpo!!!

The former Miss Universe set up shop in Palm Springs on Sunday for a photo shoot with Vital Proteins ... where she had to pretend she wasn't bothered by the scorching heat!!

Don't worry, Olivia had umbrella holders and people with water bottles waiting on the set to spray her down any time she overheated.

The good news? She pulled it off ... the photos are straight fire!!!

It's the first time we've seen Olivia back in the U.S. since her vacation with boyfriend Danny Amendola.

Seems he didn't make the trip to Cali -- he's battling the heat in Texas instead.

Ben Simmons Tinashe Won't Leave Me & Kendall Alone ... I Need More Security

Published | Updated

Ben Simmons believes his ex, Tinashe, has been tailing him and showing up at the same places he parties with gf Kendall Jenner ... and it's gotten so bad he's seriously thinking of significantly beefing up security.

Sources close to Simmons tell us ... Tinashe's been suspiciously popping up regularly at places he goes with Kendall ... way past the point of coincidence. You'll remember, the singer showed up at Delilah Thursday, and a couple weeks prior she surfaced at Poppy in WeHo when Ben was there.

We're told Ben is convinced Tinashe cannot accept the fact he ended their relationship and has moved on with Kendall. He believes she's showing up to keep tabs on him so she can see if there's a chink in the armor between him and Kendall.

Our sources say Ben thinks she's become so obsessive he doesn't want to take chances ... especially because of Kendall, and that's why he's talking about hiring extra muscle.

Tinashe claimed Ben was texting her as she left Delilah Thursday night but, as we reported, she apologized to him the next day and acknowledged she lied.

CAN'T CATCH POPS

And, the summer of Tom Brady destroying his family continues ...

TB12 took his son out in the backyard for a little pre-training camp/post-vacation workout Monday -- and left his child grasping at straws after some savage juke moves.

Well, "savage" for a guy playing against an elementary schooler.

Remember ... Tom's been killin' his fam the past few weeks -- firing lasers at his mom in dodgeball and throwin' tantrums in front of them on the golf course in Montana last week.

Looks like his son ain't immune to the Hall of Famer's competitiveness, now that the family's back home, either.

The Patriots' opponents get a little bigger when the season kicks off in September ... but, until then -- watch out, Brady relatives.

SQUAD GOALS

The core of the Los Angeles Lakers -- including Lonzo Ball and Kyle Kuzma -- were courtside at the Lakers Summer League game this weekend supporting the squad.

Even JaVale McGee and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope were there sitting next to Luke Walton and Rob Pelinka.

The one guy missing? LeBron James.

The four players were having a great time together as the Lakers Summer League squad took on the Philadelphia 76ers.

So, is it a big deal that Bron's not there bonding with the guys? Hell no.

Making sure LeBron is relaxing and getting his mind and body right is WAY more important for the Lakers than attending the Summer League.

Still ... hoping he sent a few texts from his yacht in Italy?

Broke Ass Boris Becker Hits Wimbledon Someone Check His Pass?

Published | Updated

Boris Becker -- who was recently caught flashing a fake diplomatic passport in order to evade a multi-million dollar debt -- is now at Wimbledon ... which begs the question, who's paying for this?!

Remember, 50-year-old Becker was declared bankrupt in the U.S. in 2017 after racking up a "historic debt."

Then, last month, officials say Becker was flashing a fake passport from the Central African Republic, which was so bad it didn't even have the signature or stamp of the foreign minister.

The theory is Becker essentially thought the document was a "get out of debt free" card -- but it wasn't.

Now, Becker is at Wimbledon ... where everything's expensive -- except the traditional strawberries and cream snack (which runs about $3.20).

Anyone spare a dime?

Harry Styles Fore in the Coeur

Published | Updated

Harry Styles took in a round of golf in the great outdoors of Idaho, or as it's now known -- courtesy of celebs like Kim Kardashian and Kanye West -- New North Hollywood.

Styles took a break from touring in Coeur D'Alene, where the former 1-D'er got to work on his golf swing over the weekend. He's staying at the private Gozzer Ranch Golf & Lake Club.

As we previously reported, Kim and Kanye rented a baller cabin in the same resort over 4th of July, and spent it taking in some water activities with friends and family.

Coeur D'Alene's known for being an ultra conservative town which makes it interesting that so many celebs, from traditionally liberal Hollywood, are flocking there. Still, it's easy to see why the area appeals to Harry, Kimye, Wayne Gretzky and Adam Levine.

Yao Ming Graduates from Chinese University ... After 7 Years

Published | Updated

It's official ... Yao Ming is a college graduate!

The ex-NBA star got his degree this weekend from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China ... where he first enrolled as an economics student back in 2011.

In fact, the former Houston Rockets star even joked about his 7-year plan while addressing the rest of his class.

"Let me quote a famous conversation that happened on a basketball court 11 years ago, 'This is going to be your league in a little while,'" Yao said according to CGTN.

"Trust me, when a man spends 7 years in university to graduate at age 38, he knows what he's talking about!"

Yao also thanked his parents -- who were sitting in the crowd.

Ming also revealed he considered dropping out of school -- especially due to struggles in advanced math classes.

But, he stuck with it and now Yao's got his diploma!

Now, Yao -- who made roughly $100 million in the NBA -- will try to make it in the real world.

Good luck!
