NSH Predators' Austin Watson Arrested at Gas Station ... Domestic Violence

Published | Updated

Nashville Predators forward Austin Watson was arrested on suspicion of domestic assault at a gas station in Tennessee ... TMZ Sports has learned.

The Franklin Police Dept. tells us ... 26-year-old Watson -- a 1st-round pick in the 2010 NHL Draft -- was arrested on Saturday at 7:20 PM outside of a Shell gas station.

Officials say Watson was charged with domestic assault. He is free on a $4,500 bond and due in court next week.

Details surrounding the incident are unclear -- but the Predators have already issued a statement saying, "We are still gathering facts and it is not appropriate for us to comment further at this time, but this is a matter that we are taking very seriously and will cooperate fully with the investigation by law enforcement."

"The Nashville Predators have and will continue to stand side by side with AMEND in the fight to end violence against women."

Watson is a pretty solid player for the Preds -- he scored 14 goals in 76 games during the 2017-18 season.

Jay-Z I Turned Down NFL's Super Bowl Offer

Published | Updated

Jay-Z says the NFL approached him to perform at the Super Bowl -- but he shot them down saying, "You need me, I don't need you."

It's all part of Jay and Beyonce's new song, "Apesh*t" (featuring Quavo and Offset), which dropped this past weekend. Scroll to 3:31.

One of the key lyrics is when Jay says, "I said no to the Super Bowl: you need me, I don't need you. Every night we in the endzone, tell the NFL we in stadiums too."

Seems to imply Jay rejected the NFL over the handling of the Colin Kaepernick kneeling situation -- a situation Jay has publicly criticized the league for in the past.

Another clue ... in the music video, Jay features at least 11 people taking a knee during that line.

There were reports back in Sept. 2017 that Jay gave a thumbs-down to the NFL -- but he hadn't commented before and the NFL essentially denied it saying no decisions had been made.

But, Jay doesn't mince words here ...

BATTLE OF THE BEST

"Things are moving. Discussions are happening," Espinoza tells us.

Wilder and Joshua have been calling each other out publicly for the last year -- with Wilder recently saying he'd even fly to England to fight Joshua on his home turf.

Both guys seem down to fight -- it's just a matter of locking up a deal.

Espinoza tell us the fight would be massive -- bigger than Canelo Alvarez vs. GGG -- and only rivaled by Mike Tyson vs. Lennox Lewis in 2002 and the superfights of the 1980s.

Fingers crossed he's right!

Broncos WR Carlos Henderson Cuts Deal In Weed Eating Case

Published | Updated

The Denver Broncos WR who allegedly tried to hide weed from the cops -- by shoveling it into his mouth -- is catching a break ... because he's not going to jail for his afternoon snack.

As we previously reported, Carlos Henderson was arrested in January when cops say he tried to conceal the sticky-icky evidence by eating it -- unsuccessfully -- during a routine traffic stop.

Henderson -- who's going into his 2nd NFL season -- was charged with possession of marijuana and was facing up to 6 months in jail.

But, don't worry ... Henderson's not getting locked up.

Instead, we're told he was admitted into a diversion program that'll essentially only require him to keep his nose clean for the next 3 months -- and if he does, the case will be thrown out.

HANGING WITH THE WRONG CROWD

Charles Barkley clearly thinks Dennis Rodman made a huge mistake getting into bed with Kim Jong-un ... calling the guy a brutal dictator -- but says he's sort of giving The Worm a pass.

Our photog argued that Rodman deserves credit for setting up the historic meeting between the leader of North Korea and President Trump -- but Barkley shut our guy down.

"Dude, he's a dictator. He treats people like crap. Stop it," Barkley argued.

But, when it came to judging Rodman's role in the summit, Barkley would only says he loves the guy and wouldn't give him credit.

By the way, with the NBA Draft coming up on Thursday -- we asked Chuck if he thought LiAngelo Ball had a shot at getting his name called ... and he didn't say no!

Good luck!

PREACHIN' POSITIVITY

For a guy who's blowing off his Hall of Fame induction ceremony, Terrell Owens sure spoke glowingly about the honor at the Boys & Girls Club ... and TMZ Sports has the video.

T.O. -- along with actor Sheldon Bailey -- hit up a B&G Club in L.A. last week and gave the kids a motivational speech about life. It was awesome. Props to all involved.

But, when it came to talking about his football career, Owens spoke about how much it meant to him to be part of the next class enshrined at the Pro Football HOF in Canton.

"[The] best thing that you could ever, ever have, and that's the Hall of Fame," Owens explained.

"I'm very fortunate to be a part of 300-something-odd guys of probably 25,000 guys that have played in the National Football League."

Interesting considering Owens recently announced he would NOT attend his induction ceremony in August -- a move that some say is a shot at the Hall and the NFL.

Owens didn't address the alleged beef -- but made sure to tell the kids to work hard and focus ... and, one day, they can achieve their dreams too!

Matt Barnes Warns Tekashi69 You're Going to Get Killed

Published | Updated

Matt Barnes says the death of rapper XXXTentacion should serve as a warning to Tekashi69 ... that he could be next unless he stops getting mixed up with real-life gang members.

The ex-NBA star comes from a tough background and knows how bad things can get when you push a real-life gangbanger too far.

Barnes insinuates that XXX got in too deep with real killers and learned the hard way what happens when you mess with the wrong people.

Then comes the warning to Tekashi -- who Barnes says is "running in every hood, talking sh*t to everybody."

"Bro must have a death wish, man, cause these motherf**kers are not playing. They eat for a living. They eat motherf**kers like this for a living."

The main message from Barnes ... the young rappers need to learn that gangs and gun violence only leads to one ending -- death.

"You gonna end up running into somebody REAL that's gonna turn your lights out man. All for what? All for popularity or for some likes?"

LiAngelo Ball Mocks China Theft Incident ... In Foot Locker Ad

LiAngelo Ball is finally ready to laugh at that whole international crime incident in China ... and he's doing it all for a new Foot Locker commercial.

Remember, it was just 7 months ago ... Gelo -- along with 2 teammates from UCLA -- were detained in China after stealing several pairs of designer sunglasses and other accessories from multiple stores in Hangzhou.

UCLA -- along with Chinese billionaire Jack Ma -- worked with Chinese officials to bring the players back home. LiAngelo left UCLA a short time later and moved to Lithuania to play pro ball overseas.

Now, Ball is joking about the whole situation for Foot Locker's new "One and Done" campaign ... in which the host brags that the new apparel is an "absolute steal," while cutting to Gelo.

The host jokingly realizes his mistake and says he meant to say, "The price is so good it must be criminal."

Get it?! Good times ...

Wonder if UCLA and Jack Ma are laughing?

IT CAME OUT OF NOWHERE

Urijah Faber's foot got bulldozed so hard by a car in Asia this week that he nearly whooped the driver's ass for hitting him!!

It all went down in Singapore -- where Faber's visiting for a UFC event ... when the MMA superstar stepped out into the road without looking and got straight-up run over!!

"It felt like an alligator like, bit my foot," Faber told TMZ Sports.

That wasn't even the worst part ...

Faber says after he was trucked -- the driver got aggressive ... so the UFC stud nearly threw hands!!

"He puts his hand on me, and he's like trying to calm me down, and told me, 'You shouldn't be standing in the street.' And I'm like, 'Dude, get your hand off me, bro.' I was about to lose it."

The funniest part ... Faber says the dude looked like the "asian Bob Marley!"

Cooler heads prevailed -- Faber realized it was probably his bad ... and the foot ended up being just fine.

So, bottom line -- look both ways before you cross the road, kids.

NBA's Sterling Brown: Cop Joked About Beating J.R. Smith

Published | Updated

Milwaukee Bucks player Sterling Brown claims one of the cops involved in his violent arrest later joked about unleashing a similar beating on J.R. Smith ... this according to Brown's lawsuit.

Brown is suing the Milwaukee PD and all of the officers who responded to the handicap parking dispute outside of a Walgreens back in January. Brown was brutalized and tased, despite never doing anything to warrant a physical altercation.

Now, Brown says one of the responding officers -- Erik Andrade -- mocked the incident on social media ... and even commented about doing the same thing to Smith after he blew Game 1 of the NBA Finals.

"I hope JR Smith double parks in Walgreens handicap Parkin spots when he's in Milwaukee!"

In his suit, Brown says ... "Andrade's post is an admission that he and other Defendant officers are allowed to engage in unlawful attacks and arrests of African Americans without justification and then relish such events without any fear or real discipline."

There's more ... Brown claims Andrade also mocked the Jan. 26 incident on Facebook, commenting on a local news story about Brown's arrest.

"Let the man get his early morning craving of popcorn," Andrade wrote.

Brown also claims Andrade's Facebook page includes a racist meme of Kevin Durant and also a post about the "epidemic of the black community lying on the police."

NBA's Sterling Brown Suing Milwaukee Police ... Over Stun Gun Arrest

Published | Updated

Milwaukee Bucks player Sterling Brown has filed a lawsuit against the Milwaukee police officers who hit him with a stun gun during a January arrest.

In the suit, obtained by TMZ Sports, Brown claims he feared for his life as officers shoved him, tased him and stomped on his leg ... in a dispute over a parking space.

As we previously reported, Brown was confronted by a group of Milwaukee Police Dept. officers around 2 AM on Jan. 26 outside of a Walgreens -- where his car was parked in two handicap spaces.

THE DRAMATIC FOOTAGE

Cops aggressively approached Brown and escalated the situation -- ultimately choosing to take him down by force ... and tasing him.

In his suit, Brown claims ... "shortly after Defendants threw Mr. Brown to the ground, [one of the officers] used his right foot to stomp on Mr. Brown’s leg. Then after the Taser was shot into Mr. Brown’s back, [the officer] proceeded to stomp on Mr. Brown’s leg with both feet."

Video of the incident shows Brown never made an aggressive move toward cops or really did anything warranting the violent takedown.

Brown has now sued the City of Milwaukee -- along with the police chief -- and the 8 officers he believes were involved in the incident for excessive force and unlawful arrest.

Dallas Cowboys' Legend's Son Arrested for Murder

Published | Updated

The son of Dallas Cowboys legend Erik Williams has been arrested in connection with a double murder in Texas, TMZ Sports has learned.

20-year-old Cassius Shakembe Williams -- along with another man -- have been arrested and each charged with 2 counts of capital murder in the shooting deaths of 2 men in Mesquite, TX on June 12.

Officials believe the victims were attempting to sell marijuana to Williams and his friend, when the buyers pulled out guns and demanded they hand over the weed.

Shots were fired and the two alleged dealers were killed.

Capital murder is essentially the same as 1st degree murder -- and if convicted, it carries the death penalty.

Williams is a former football player himself -- who was a 6'1", 290 lb defensive tackle at Central State University.

His father, Erik Williams, was a 2-time Super Bowl champ with the Dallas Cowboys -- where he was also a 4-time Pro Bowler as an offensive lineman.
