So, what's Tom Brady doing that's so important that he decided to skip the Patriots first organized team activity (OTAs) on Monday?

Turns out, the 40-year-old QB was hanging out with his wife and kids in New York City on Sunday morning, enjoying some brunch -- that a good enough excuse for you?

Tom, Gisele and 2 kids were spotted at a fancy restaurant in NYC without a care in the world ... enjoying some quality family time.

Of course, Monday morning is the beginning of the New England Patriots voluntary OTA program in Foxboro ... which Brady has regularly been a part of in the past.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport says Brady is unlikely to attend OTAs -- but the question remains ... with reported strife in the organization, will Brady report for mandatory mini-camp in June?

For the record, Brady has 8 Super Bowl appearances in his 18 seasons in the league -- so, you really that worried?

Shannon Sharpe wanted to rub Skip Bayless' nose in LeBron James' greatness Monday morning -- so, he put on the goat head, ditched his sleeves ... and even busted out a Black & Mild!

... and it was HILARIOUS (and weird).

Sharpe LOVES Bron -- Skip's a lifelong doubter -- so ... after James brought the Cavs back to life with a dominating 30-point win on Saturday, the ex-NFL star was hyped about it on FS1's 'Undisputed.'

A couple of high-profile NFL rookies are throwing their support behind Johnny Manziel -- with Derrius Guice and Bradley Chubb saying he's a good dude who deserves another shot in the league.

In fact, Guice -- 2nd round pick for the Redskins -- says he's worked out with Manziel and considers him his big bro.

"Everybody goes through things in life, this is just one of those things he had to overcome and he's done a great job overcoming it."

Manziel signed a deal with the CFL's Hamilton Tiger-Cats and has already moved to Canada to start working out with the team.

He signed a 2-year deal, but if he impresses off the bat, there's a chance he could be back in the NFL by 2019.

Denver Broncos' 1st round pick Bradley Chubb is one of those supporters ... telling TMZ Sports the Heisman winner is a great player and a great dude.

Matt Barnes will "absolutely not" be in attendance when his ex-wife, Gloria Govan, marries Derek Fisher ... so says Gloria, who claims the ex-NBA stars are still NOT on great terms.

Remember, Barnes congratulated Govan and Fisher after they got engaged back in April -- saying he's happy for the couple because his kids have grown to love him.

But Govan says the relationship between the former Lakers teammates is still not great -- and Matt's presence would be "really awkward."

"[Matt] and Derek aren't cool," Govan said ... "They're cordial. I wouldn't say 'beef' but they don't talk every week."

It's about what you'd expect ... considering Matt and Derek famously fought back when Derek began dating Gloria a few years ago.

Govan closed with some advice to Matt ... don't waste your time buying a wedding gift either, because "I will throw that gift away."

UFC star Rose Namajunas has a message for Joanna Jedrzejczyk -- want a rematch? Hope you're ready to PUBLICLY stuff your face with a fat ol' piece of humble pie!

Of course, Rose already smashed Joanna TWICE -- ending Jedrzejczyk's historic 14-fight win streak. But Joanna wants a 3rd crack at the 25-year-old champ.

"She knows I'm the best," Rose tells TMZ Sports ... "But she won't admit it to anybody."

Well, if Joanna wants a third fight, Rose says that's gotta change.

"If she says that I'm the best PUBLICLY," Rose says ... she'll CONSIDER another rematch.

"Just say it!"

If JJ can't bring herself to make the public declaration, Rose says she's moving on with her life and career ... but doesn't rule out a 3rd clash with Joanna somewhere down the line.

"I'd be interested to see how she does with somebody else before even entertaining that possibility."

Johnny Manziel is back on the gridiron for the first time in a long time -- here's hoping he can rein it in, eh?

Manziel was spotted debuting his new CFL jersey Sunday for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats at Ron Joyce Stadium, where he was meeting the team and tossing the ball around.

As we reported ... Manziel announced last week that he'd signed with the Canadian football team nearly 2 years after he was released from the Cleveland Browns, following a long list of off-the-field issues. He agreed to a 2-season deal.

The Tiger-Cats got a game coming up in a couple weeks here against the Toronto Argonauts. Looks like the QB's getting his practice in early and often.

John Cena made the trek down to San Diego to try to win Nikki Bella back, but as we reported ... it may take more than just AAdvantage Miles.

Nikki and John were spotted together in the Mission Hills neighborhood of San Diego Saturday, strolling down the street after getting their fix of java.

John has been on a unrelenting campaign to win Nikki back ... after she broke up with him because he would not budge on the issue of having children.

Nikki told us a few days ago she now believes John has had a change of heart and would like for her to have his kids, but she says all the drama has made her question the relationship. She told us she loves John and would like things to work out, but she needs time to think.

The Golden Boy ain't gonna like this ...

Shaq says he gave Oscar De La Hoya a pass when the two men fought back in 2009 ... telling TMZ Sports he "held back" on ODLH because he didn't REALLY want to beat up his friend.

Oscar & Diesel squared off for his old TV show, "Shaq Vs." where the big fella would go up against other pro athletes in their different sports ... with awesome results.

De La Hoya won via decision ... but when we got O'Neal out in NYC he told our guy he basically took a dive.

"I held back 'cause he was my friend."

Not everybody got the homie treatment though ... Shaq told us he had another fight, this time with boxing great Sugar Shane Mosley where he "turned it up a little."

We found the video -- and yeah, Shaq hit Mosley with some REAL power shots and bullied him around the ring like a rag doll.

Mosley ended up winning that fight in a 5-round decision (and hit Shaq with some power shots of his own) ... but it's clear Shaq was trying to send a message that he's no joke when it comes to fighting.

Saquon Barkley has a problem that only Tiger Woods can fix -- he sucks at golf.

Well, maybe "sucks" is a strong word ... but the NY Giants stud rookie running back knows he needs a lot of help on the links and thinks Tiger is just the man for the job.

You've probably seen the pics of Barkley on the course ... dude looks like a monster with a club -- and he's revealing his new nickname, "Thigh-ger Woods."

Sylvester Stallone's wife is weighing in on the whole Sly vs. Hulk Hogan debate -- saying she's confident if the two ever fought, it would be "Rocky III" all over again!

Remember, Hulk recently told us he's picking HIMSELF if the two men ever locked horns -- despite the fact Stallone's still a physical freak at 71 years old.

So, when we saw Jennifer Flavin at LAX ... we had to get her take -- and shocker, she's picking Sly.

Can Bone Collector really ball at the NBA level at 37 years old? He thinks he can ... and tells TMZ Sports he's seriously making a push to get a shot with a pro team.

Bone Collector -- real name Larry Williams -- famously killed EVERYONE on the AND1 mixtapes back in the day -- but says he still balls out all the time with a stable of NBA stars, including Steph Curry.

"I think I'll be a good 6th-man addition to a team," B.C. says ... noting that he looks up to guys like 41-year-old Vince Carter for inspiration.

Watch the video ... dude's still as confident as ever -- telling TMZ Sports he's still breaking ankles in the gym and bragging, "Nobody can guard me."

11:00 AM PT -- A rep for Russell tells TMZ ... he was hospitalized for dehydration. He was kept overnight for observation, but they expect him to check out today.

11:15 AM PT -- Russell just responded himself, saying he was taken to the hospital last night for dehydration and joked his wife likes to remind him that he doesn't drink enough. He says he's on his way home.

Bill also playfully denied having any heart issues, saying ... "my friends know I don't have a heart to give me trouble."

NBA Hall of Famer Bill Russell is in the hospital in Washington state dealing with some apparent heart issues ... TMZ has learned.

Law enforcement sources tell us ... an ambulance was called to Russell's home in the Seattle area Friday night, and the 84-year-old Celtics legend was rushed to a nearby hospital.

We're told Bill was having heart trouble and shortness of breath ... and is still hospitalized. We've reached out to get an update on his condition.

The 11-time NBA champion center was also hospitalized in 2014 after collapsing at a speaking gig in Lake Tahoe, but recovered quickly.

Bill's considered one of the greatest basketball players of all time, and recently attended Game 1 of the Celtics playoff round vs. the 76ers. Obviously, the crowd went wild.

Lamar Odom looks like he had himself a good time at the club ... tearing it up right by the stage for all to see.

The former NBA star hit up Drai's nightclub at The Cromwell in Vegas Friday night, and fully indulged in the party scene -- bottle and vape pen in hand, dancing with a hot chick ... and more dancing by himself.

Last couple times we've seen Lamar he's told us he's working on 2 different things ... making a basketball comeback, and helping people with ailments get better through his cannabis company.

Caitlyn Jenner and her rumored 21-year-old girlfriend appear to have shacked up together ... and the proof is all in Jenner's bed!

Caitlyn and Sophia Hutchins -- who is also transgender -- have reportedly been an item for several months. However, earlier this week Sophia dropped a massive hint as to just how serious things between the two might actually be.

Hutchins posted a photo of herself lying on a bed with the caption, "Home. Sweet. Home." Look closely ... the bed's headboard is the exact same one Caitlyn's posted many times in the past from her Malibu home.
