Bryant McKinnie To Kaepernick: I Beat NFL In Collusion Case!

Published | Updated

IT REALLY HAPPENS

Think it's impossible for an NFL player to win a collusion case against the league?

Bryant McKinnie says it's VERY possible -- and he's living proof.

The ex-NFL lineman says, just like Colin Kaepernick, he filed a grievance against the NFL back in 2002 when he felt the Minnesota Vikings and K.C. Chiefs had colluded against him and another player.

At the time, McKinnie was trying to work out his rookie deal -- and was pissed the Vikings were offering him a smaller signing bonus than a player who was taken AFTER him in the draft.

McKinnie claims the Vikings and the Chiefs had secretly teamed up to pay him (the 7th pick) and Ryan Sims (the 6th pick) less than the Cowboys paid Roy Williams (the 8th pick).

Bryant says the Vikings eventually folded and paid him what he wanted -- but only because his team had strong evidence to prove his claim.

He eventually dropped the case and signed his deal -- so, technically he didn't "win" but he got what he wanted.

Bottom line -- Bryant believes collusion is real and Colin has a real shot to win his case.

ONE OF THE GREATEST

Anderson Silva thinks Khabib Nurmagomedov is the "new tough guy" in MMA -- and could become the best fighter in the entire UFC.

At least, that's what we think he said.

The Spider was hanging at The Grove in L.A. when we brought up Khabib -- and asked what he thought of the Khabib's violent rise up the ranks.

"Khabib is great, he's amazing!"

There was a lot of overall praise for Khabib ... including this: "I believe Khabib come the best fight in the sport."

Obviously, Silva is from Brazil and English isn't his first language -- so, some of the things he says are a little more tough to understand than others.

We think he meant, "I believe Khabib can become the best fighter in the sport."

Either way, Silva's a fan -- and really wants to see him fight Conor McGregor.

Don't we all!

Kentucky Derby 2018 Celebs Dress Up To Cheer on the Horses

Published | Updated

The 144th Annual Kentucky Derby is upon us, which means once again ... some of your favorite celebs are there trying to one-up each other in the style department.

Johnny Knoxville, Von Miller, Tina Knowles, Anthony Anderson, Laila Ali, Joey Fatone, Aaron Rodgers and his Packers teammates and many more have gathered at the Churchill Downs racetrack in Louisville for the annual running of the race, and as you can see ... there's no shortage of fancy suits and dresses, pastel colors and extravagant hats.

Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir shared their fashion expertise during pre-race festivities once again, too.

The Derby is the first of 3 races that makes up horse racing's triple crown, and it's definitely tops in bringing out the stars.

This year's favorite is Justify at 3-1 odds, followed by My Boy Jack at 5-1 and both Audible and Mendelssohn at 6-1. We broke the story ... huge underdog Solomini might be a horse to keep an eye on too.

And they're off! (around 3:45 PM PT)

Rob Gronkowski Busts a Move in the Bahamas

Published | Updated

Rob Gronkowski can dance anytime, anywhere ... including in the streets of the Bahamas with some locals.

The Patriots TE was in the Caribbean last weekend and hit up the Bahamas' Junkanoo Carnival ... and it didn't take long for him to join in on the fun.

Gronk jumped around and high-fived people before he was given a festive hat and a couple of bells to add to the music. He made the most of it.

It looks like he was in the Bahamas doing some work with Discovery Channel for this summer's "Shark Week" ... but Gronk can always manage business with pleasure.

Kentucky Derby Is Solomini the Next American Pharoah? Owners Think So!!!

Published | Updated

The owners of 2015 Triple Crown winner American Pharoah might know something we don't know ... because they're treating their huge underdog for this year's Kentucky Derby like their famous Thoroughbred.

Solomini is currently a 66-1 long shot to win Saturday's Derby, but that didn't stop Zayat Stables from filing trademark paperwork -- obtained by TMZ -- to lock down the colt's name in the event he's another success story.

According to the docs ... Zayat has high hopes to plaster Solomini's name all over hats, t-shirts, posters, mugs, tote bags and jewelry -- much like they did for American Pharoah after his legendary run.

What's interesting is Zayat didn't file similar paperwork for Pharoah until AFTER he won the 2015 Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes ... so they're banking on Solomini a lot sooner.

Also worth noting -- Solomini is trained by Bob Baffert, who trained American Pharoah as well.

Zayat Stables clearly hopes they have something special again, but like we said ... Solomini's a long shot. Place your bets wisely!

Pead shared a vid of himself trying out his new running leg for the first time Friday, and while it looks like he's got some work to do to get the hang of it ... we know he's not gonna slow down 'til he does.

TMZ Sports spoke with Isaiah last month, and he told us he's on a quest to hit the track in the 2020, 2024 and 2028 Summer Paralympics ... and he'll be in it to win it.

He says his goal is to compete in the 400, an event he dominated as a high school sprinter.

As we reported ... Pead lost his left leg in a 2016 car crash, which ended his football career. But clearly his athletic career is far from over -- he's moving forward one step at a time.

Herschel Walker To Kaepernick: I Wouldn't Hire You Either!

NOT IN THE WORKPLACE

Herschel Walker says he understands why NFL teams won't hire Colin Kaepernick -- but offers a simple solution ... if a team asks you to stop kneeling, stop kneeling.

The ex-NFL star says he respects what Colin was trying to accomplish with the kneeling, and wants to help the QB make a real difference in the communities.

But when it comes to the workplace, Walker says Colin should either fall in line and do what he's asked ... or don't expect anyone to hire you.

"I own a chicken company," Walker says ... "If the guy that I hire don't want to do what I ask him to do, why do I hire him? And I think that's the problem right there, you know."

Walker says he has contacts in D.C. -- including the President -- and would happily team up with Kaep to get things done. He just thinks the kneeling demonstration is the wrong way to go.

Speaking of politics, we also spoke with Walker about his new position on Donald Trump's Fitness Council -- and he's VERY excited to make a difference.

THE SECRET

Attention world class fighters who want to punish regular guys for disrespect -- but don't wanna go to jail ... former boxing champ Andre Berto has a work-around for your frustrations.

Berto was leaving Mastro's in Bev Hills when we told him about Marlon Wayans saying he witnessed UFC star Nate Diaz beat up a regular homeboy who had gotten a little out of control.

We then asked Berto how he deals with those types, being that he's a fighter and legally can't go crazy on an average Joe ... and it turns out Berto has a whole strategy.

"You can slap them. As long as it's not closed fist. I mean, I don't know about MMA but with boxing, as long as it's not closed fist, I'd smack the sh*t out of them."

Here's the thing ... we spoke with a prosecutor and asked if Berto's logic was legally sound. The answer -- "No."

Sorry, Berto ... good idea, though!

OBJ Orders 3 Pizzas ... Ends Up With 30!!

Published | Updated

What's better than having 3 delicious pizzas delivered to your doorstep?? HOW ABOUT GETTING 30 PIZZAS?!

That's exactly what happened during Odell Beckham's first ever Postmates experience on Friday ... when the New York Giants superstar was hungry for some California Pizza Kitchen.

OBJ says he only ordered 3 different pies, but the order must've gotten mixed up along the way, 'cause the dude rolled up to his L.A. home with a TON of pizza.

The clip is hilarious ... Odell thankfully narrates the whole thing ... expressing his uncertainty about the food delivery's reliability to begin with, being a first-timer and all.

BTW -- Odell was only charged for the 3 pizzas he ordered, so it's safe to say he'll be a returning customer.

Julius Randle I'm Immune to Celeb Hecklers ... That Means You, Drake!!

Published | Updated

Sorry, Drake ... your trash talkin' doesn't stand a chance against Julius Randle, 'cause the L.A. Lakers star says he's way too locked in during games to get distracted by celeb hecklers.

It was a hot topic in sports this week when the NBA issued a warning to the 6 God for "bad language" towards Cavs bruiser Kendrick Perkins ... after he allegedly called Perk a "f*cking p*ssy."

We asked Randle what he thought about the whole situation ... and he laughed it off (probably 'cause he's so used to playing against celebs in L.A. all the time.)

We also asked Randle if he has a personal message for Aubrey ... and we gotta admit, we're all on the same page.

LOVE YOU, MOM

Colin Kaepernick says he was subjected to racism as a kid -- but his mother Mama Bear'd the hell out of anyone who dared talk smack about her kid ... even at Little League baseball games!

Kaep honored his mother for a VH1 special called "Dear Mama: A Love Letter to Moms" -- and if you know Colin's story, you'd know he was adopted by a white couple, Teresa and Rick Kaepernick.

Colin says he always knew he looked different than the rest of his family -- but he knew they loved him as deeply as any parent would love their child.

However, Colin says the "privilege" of his parents (being white) could not protect him from real-life racist situations ... but when his mother sensed something was wrong, she would ferociously protect him.

"When adults were unaware of who my mother was at little league baseball games," Colin said ... "it was her that gave a tongue lashing to the parents in the stands speaking ill about the black child striking out all of their sons."

Teresa also speaks in the VH1 special -- praising her son for being brave enough to always stand up to injustice ... "even though it may mean sacrificing your dream."

THAT'S SOME GOOD MOTIVATION!

Too Short thinks it's hilarious that Drake got an official warning from the NBA over his NSFW trash talk -- and says the Toronto Raptors would be better off if he never opened his mouth in the first place!

As we previously reported, Drake got scolded by the league after reportedly calling Kendrick Perkins a "f*cking p*ssy" during the Raptors vs. Cavs playoff game this week. Good times.

Now, Short says Drake's antics are actually HURTING the team he's trying to support.

"The Raptors are down 0-2 [in the series] ... it might be 1-1 or 2-0 Raptors if he wasn't sitting on the sidelines," Short says!

"He's motivating other teams!"

Too Short's also a hardcore Warriors fan -- but says there's one other team in the playoffs he'd like to see win.
