J.R. Smith Suspended Over Soup Attack

Published | Updated

J.R. Smith weaponized soup.

Sip that in ... because that's why the Cleveland Cavs suspended the NBA star for Thursday's game against the 76ers.

Team officials had announced Smith was hit with a 1-game suspension for conduct detrimental to the team ... and now ESPN is reporting that conduct was a soup attack on a Cavs coach.

The target of Smith's delicious rage ... Damon Jones -- a former Cavs player who's now an assistant with the team.

J.R.'s set to rejoin the team today ... but guessing it's gonna be weeks before things are mmm, mmm, good between the two again.

Daniel Cormier Jon Jones Deserves Steroids Ban ... 'That's His Reality Now'

Published | Updated

Daniel Cormier ain't about to throw a pity party for Jon Jones ... saying his rival got what's coming to him with his steroids suspension.

"He put himself in all these situations -- these were not forced on you. That's his reality now," Cormier told TMZ Sports.

FYI, Jones got slapped a 1-year ban from the California Athletic Commission earlier this week ... and is still facing a max 4-YEAR ban from the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency for failing a drug test before his UFC 214 fight vs. DC.

But Daniel says he ain't getting hung up on Jon's PED saga ... 'cause he's got bigger and better things to worry about.

"I've moved on," Cormier said. "I've disconnected myself from that man and his issues."

DC says all he cares about now is becoming a 2-weight champ by beating Stipe Miocic -- who he just finished filming 'TUF 27' with -- at UFC 226.

But, ya gotta wonder ... could Daniel possibly fight Jones after that scrap?

Cormier confirmed his retirement timeline with us, and things ain't looking great for Jon ...

Woody Harrelson The Return Of Billy Hoyle ... On Set Hooping w/ Daughter

Published | Updated

If you've ever wondered what happened to Billy Hoyle from "White Men Can't Jump," we've got the video for you -- Woody Harrelson showing he's still got the moves by training a new hoops generation.

Woody was on set filming his new movie, "The Highwaymen," when he took some time out to teach his youngest daughter, Makani, the same tactics he used to dominate Wesley Snipes (face it, he did).

Looks like Woody's teaching her how to finish high in the lane without killing her dribble, and demonstrating it from multiple angles on the court ... and he seems like he's still got it.

It was announced last year that 'WMCJ' was set for a reboot starring Blake Griffin ... but after seeing this, maybe it's time to scrap the reboot, and give Woody & Wesley a sequel.

Just sayin'.

NFL's Branden Albert Got Tased By Cop, Fought Back In Jewelry Store Rumble

Published | Updated

NFL Pro Bowler Branden Albert is so tough -- he pulled out taser prongs AFTER he got shocked and tackled a police officer in a jewelry store melee ... this according to police docs obtained by TMZ Sports.

Yeah ... this story is crazy!!!

TMZ Sports broke the story ... Albert was arrested for assault in Georgia on Wednesday. Now, we've got the police report and it describes a very violent situation.

Cops say Albert and his crew hit up Icebox Jewelry around 4:15 PM to check out some merchandise -- but Albert kept trying to access a part of the shop where customers are not allowed.

The security guard -- an off-duty Atlanta Police Dept. officer -- says the store owner confronted Albert and told him to leave the area but the NFL star flipped out and "punched a jewelry cabinet which left a very large hole."

The officer approached Albert -- but the 6'4", 315 pounder went nuclear ... cussing and saying he would "kill" the owner.

That's when the cop says Albert pushed him and tried to leave. The officer drew his taser and deployed it ... knocking Albert to the ground.

But Albert simply PULLED THE PRONGS OUT and got up! The officer chased him but Albert stopped, turned around and TACKLED THE COP!

Eventually, Albert stopped fighting and congratulated the cop on "a good tussle." The cop arrested him anyway. He was booked into jail for damage to property and obstruction of law enforcement.

The cop says he suffered minor injuries in the incident -- but nothing serious.

Albert is still in jail at the time of this post.

O.J. Simpson I Had an Accomplice In Nicole Brown Simpson/Ron Goldman Murders

Published | Updated

O.J. Simpson told Judith Regan he "hypothetically" had an accomplice in the murders of his ex-wife and her friend ... an accomplice who was with him during the killings.

FOX is belatedly airing an O.J. Simpson interview it had shelved years ago ... shelved under extreme pressure. Regan, a book publisher, helped Simpson write a book called, "If I Did It: Confessions of a Killer."

Regan interviewed Simpson on camera for the TV special and he initially drew from the book and talked hypothetically about how the murders might have been committed. The un-aired show was viewed as a confession of sorts, and now TMZ knows why.

Sources familiar with the program tell us, Simpson talked in the third person as he described how the murders might have been committed, but at some point in the interview he lapsed into first person. We're told it sounded like a first-person account of the murders and, although it's not a clear confession, it's in that arena.

We're told Simpson flat-out talks about an accomplice who was with him at Nicole's home. He did not name the accomplice.

Simpson's scenario goes like this ... he went to her house the evening of June 12, 1994, to "scare the s*** out of her." He took the Bronco to her home with his friend, brought a knife and put a hat and gloves on for dramatic effect.

Simpson then says he looked in Nicole's window ... saw burning candles and believed she was expecting a man to show up. Just then Ron, a waiter from the restaurant where she had just dined, appeared with a pair of sunglasses Nicole's mom had forgotten at the restaurant. Simpson started screaming in rage, Nicole came running out ... and at that point he says he "blacked out" and came to covered in blood.

The special airs on Sunday, March 11.

Aly Raisman Sues U.S. Olympic Committee Over Nassar Sexual Abuse

Published | Updated

Team USA gymnastics star Aly Raisman is going after the U.S. Olympic Committee in court over the "serial molestation, sexual abuse and harassment" from Larry Nassar -- saying USOC could have prevented it.

Raisman says she continues to suffer from depression, anxiety and fear stemming from the abuse she suffered at the hands of the former Team USA doctor.

She also claims her psychological trauma includes "not trusting adult males."

Raisman says in her docs she always thought Nassar was "weird" and questioned why she was told he was the "best gymnastics doctor in the world." Once she realized his medical techniques were really sexual abuse, she felt "humiliation, guilt, shame and disgust."

Raisman claims the USOC touts itself for being committed to "creating a safe and positive environment for athletes" ... but failed by allowing Nassar to sexually assault dozens and dozens of female gymnasts.

One example ... Raisman claims USOC did not provide properly trained medical professionals to supervise Nassar's exams.

She also says USOC concealed its knowledge of Nassar's molestation of minor female gymnasts -- despite the fact they knew as early as 2015.

She's suing for damages.

Meanwhile, Nassar is locked up in an Arizona prison -- where he'll likely die.

WWE Legend Sunny Arrested Again 'Fugitive From Justice'

Published | Updated

WWE Hall of Famer Sunny -- real name, Tammy Sytch -- is behind bars again after cops say she was a "fugitive from justice," TMZ Sports has learned.

Jail records show the 45-year-old is currently locked up in New Jersey on contempt of court and fugitive from justice charges. We're trying to figure out exactly what happened.

Sytch is no stranger to the law ... she had 3 DUI arrests on her rap sheet from 2015 and was popped 5 times in 4 weeks back in 2012 for things like burglary and crimes related to domestic violence.

The last time we spoke with Tammy was right about this time last year ... when she was going to rehab to clean herself up. She seemed to be in a good place at the time.

As for her wrestling career, Sytch was considered the very first WWE Diva -- and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame back in 2011.

Johnny Manziel Thong Chronicles Day 2 ... Butt Grab Edition

Published | Updated

Here's Johnny Manziel showing he's still got Heisman caliber hands ... except the skin he's palming this time isn't pig (at all) it belongs to the luscious cakes of his fiancee Bre Tiesi.

Manziel and Tiesi have been down in Miami hanging out -- and working out -- and this is the second time we've gotten a gander at Bre's gams (she killed it in a lime green thong yesterday).

This time the bikini is dark grey, which must be Johnny's color cause he had to get a little action, getting his five digits all up on Bre's backside as the couple chilled in a beach chair.

Don't fumble, young man.

Jonathan Martin Alma Mater Gets Restraining Order After His Shotgun Post

Published | Updated

3:15 PM PT -- In court docs, Harvard-Westlake officials say Martin checked into a mental health facility following his arrest ... but he might be out already and the school doesn't want to take any chances.

School officials say the fact Martin was arrested with a gun in his possession coupled with the fact he lives less than 45 minutes from campus is very concerning to faculty, parents and students.

The restraining order request was granted -- and Martin has been ordered to stay 150 yards away from the school.

Ex-NFL player Jonathan Martin's alma mater wants to make sure he comes nowhere near the famous high school after his arrest with a shotgun.

Harvard-Westlake High School filed docs Thursday to get a restraining order against Martin. As we reported, police detained him last week after he posted a photo of a shotgun and ammo, and tagged the names of 2 former Harvard-Westlake classmates -- as well as 2 of his Dolphins teammates, including Richie Incognito.

Out of precaution, the private school campus was shut down when Martin posted the photo. Police eventually located him and detained him. He was carrying a gun with him at the time the police caught up to him.

Martin was scheduled to undergo psychiatric evaluation. It is unclear if the judge has approved the restraining order.

U of Arizona Coach Sean Miller 'I Have Done Nothing Wrong' ... No Payments to Players

Published | Updated

University of Arizona basketball coach Sean Miller just came out swinging against allegations he tried to pay a top recruit $100,000 to play for him ... saying, "I have done nothing wrong."

Miller appeared at a news conference Thursday to address reports that FBI wiretaps show he discussed making a $100,000 payment to lock up high school phenom Deandre Ayton.

"I have never paid a recruit to come to Arizona," Miller said ... who adds he also never DISCUSSED paying a recruit.

In short, Miller says the allegations are inaccurate, false and defamatory.

"I have never knowingly violated NCAA rules while serving as head coach at this great program."

Miller says he was approached with the suggestion of paying a recruit at one point during his career at U of A ... but he did NOT agree to pay the recruit and that player did not end up at the school.

Nancy Pelosi & Barbara Lee Hey, Donald Trump ... We're Huge Warriors Fans

Published | Updated

Congresswomen Nancy Pelosi and Barbara Lee crashed the Warriors vs. Wizards game Wednesday in D.C. -- and if ya couldn't tell, they LOVE their hometown Dubs ... unlike Donald Trump.

Pelosi and Lee hit up Steph Curry and the gang outside the Warriors' locker room after they got the W ... thanking the NBA champs for their trip to the nation's capitol, where they snubbed Trump in favor of hangin' with local youth.

But before the meet-and-greet, the SF and Oakland democratic reps got their fangirl on in the stands!! (Dope scarf, Nancy ... but Barb wins with her custom "The Town" jersey.)

“They make us proud ... they are civic leaders. We are huge fans,” Lee told the Washington Post.

FYI, Pelosi invited the Dubs to hang with her in D.C. after POTUS pulled their White House invite ... but the fact that she sought THEM out says a lot.

Guessing they'll hook her up with better seats at Oracle ...

Dante Fowler Gets Probation In Parking Lot Beatdown Case

Published | Updated

Jacksonville Jaguars star Dante Fowler copped a plea in his parking lot beatdown case -- but he ain't going to jail.

As we previously reported, the 23-year-old was charged with battery, criminal mischief and petty theft -- all misdemeanors -- after he allegedly roughed a dude up in an apartment parking lot in Florida back in July.

Officials say Fowler got upset with a man after he criticized his driving -- and proceeded to hit the guy, knock off his glasses, stepped on them ... and then grabbed the man's bag of newly purchased liquor and threw it in a nearby lake.

Fowler was facing about a year in jail -- but instead cut a deal in which he pled no contest to all 3 counts and in exchange he got 12 months probation, 75 hours of community service and more than $1,000 in fines.

He was also ordered to stay away from the victim, according to court docs obtained by TMZ Sports.

Fowler previously apologized for the incident -- telling Jaguars fans, "I'm a better person than that."
