Michael Sam went straight "Over the Top" in a Dallas bar -- arm wrestling a dude who called him a "p*ssy" ... and TMZ Sports has the video.

Here's the deal ... Sam (the 1st openly gay player to be drafted by an NFL team) was hanging out at Bottled Blonde when he started chatting it up with Miami designer Jared Lang.

Lang playfully challenged Sam to a test of arm strength -- and Sam obliged. They clasped hands, Lang teased Sam by jokingly calling him a "p*ssy" ... and then it was on!

Sam was clearly in control the entire time -- and casually provided resistance while Lang used his body weight to slam Michael's hand down.

At one point, Sam was watching TV while Lang struggled to get the upper hand.

Sam eventually loses (seems like he let the guy win) ... but the 2 were cool and dapped it up afterward.

But here's a warning -- CAREFUL WHEN ARM WRESTLING ... remember what happened when Larry the Cable Guy did it ...

Yeah, tensions are high ... but there's one thing Russian and American superstar athletes have in common -- they LOVE expensive jewelry.

Case in point ... Aleksandr Kokorin -- the biggest soccer star in Russia, a 26-year-old striker on the World Cup team.

He's also rich as hell -- and just dropped a cool $100,000 on a custom Rolex watch and diamond necklace combo.

Kokorin hit up Dave Bling and Big Will at DWS Jewelry & Co. in NYC for a "Rainbow Rolly" -- comprised of multicolored VS-1 diamonds on the bezel.

Kokorin issued a statement about the pieces through the jeweler ... saying, "I always want to create something that feels unique to me. This watch reminds me that even though time is expensive and serious, it can also be fun and enjoyable."

Boston Red Sox pitcher Steven Wright was arrested this weekend after he got into an altercation with his spouse, according to local media outlets.

NBC Sports Boston reports that the starting righty got busted Friday at his home in Tennessee for an incident involving his wife, which resulted in him being arrested and booked for domestic assault.

His lawyer released a statement from the Wright family saying ... "On Friday night, Steven was arrested at our home following a verbal argument, and the police charged him with domestic assault."

The statement goes on ... "Although he said things he deeply regrets, he did not raise his hand at anyone during the incident, and the situation was purely emotional. We are working together as a family ... and we ask that you respect our privacy as we do so."

The Red Sox also released a statement saying they were aware of the situation, and that MLB and police were investigating ... declining to comment further.

Seattle Seahawks defensive tackle Malik McDowell was arrested this weekend after he allegedly flipped out at a club in a dispute over money.

McDowell was arrested early Sunday morning in Atlanta, GA after a cop says she saw him getting into a verbal altercation outside the front doors of a club called SL Lounge.

According to the incident report, obtained by TMZ Sports, McDowell was shouting at the head of security about $600 he believed he'd already paid ... even though he was repeatedly told by staff and his own friend he hadn't given them the cash he wanted back.

He was eventually allowed back in ... but the arresting officer says he was kicked out again ... still shouting about the money, and refusing to leave without it. The cop says she was told McDowell poured out a couple bottles of liquor inside and got booted.

During a profanity-laced tirade, the officer says she detained McDowell with the help of her partner. They tried getting him in the back of their patrol car when he allegedly said ... "F*** both of ya'll hoe ass n*****, p**** ass cops, I bet I get out, I got more money than ya'll, ya'll ain't got enough money for me, p**** ass crackers, broke ass n*****."

The arresting officer says she had to almost tase and pepper spray McDowell when he refused to comply with her orders, but adds she ultimately didn't use either.

He was booked for disorderly conduct, and was released on a $325 bond. McDowell suffered a concussion this summer and is not on the active Seahawks roster.

UFC champ Max Holloway says Kobe Bryant has shown him the killer instinct it takes to be great ... crediting Mamba Mentality for his ass-kicking inside the Octagon.

"When Kobe is in Mamba mode he's an animal," Max told TMZ Sports. "He doesn't care about winning one time ... he'll play you 100 times just to make a point -- you suck, I'm the greatest."

It’s a mindset Max says helped him SMASH Jose Aldo in their rematch last weekend ... and one he plans to continue using to become the next big thing -- like a Kobe, LeBron, Tiger or Serena.

Then Weezy -- and his dope shoes -- revved up the crowd some more.

The Texas home owned by NBA star Chris Bosh had all of the hallmarks of a traditional drug trafficking den ... from iron gates to security cameras -- this according to the cops who raided the joint.

TMZ Sports broke the story ... Bosh's mother, Frieda, is listed as a suspect in an alleged crack cocaine and heroin trafficking operation based out of the home Chris owns in DeSoto, Texas.

Cops conducted an covert sting operation to obtain evidence -- which included sending an undercover officer to the home on Tuesday to snatch and grab trash bags that had been left outside of the home.

Officials say investigators sifted through the trash and found tons of evidence -- including baggies with cocaine residue, weed paraphernalia, burned joints and mail with Frieda's name on it.

As for the drug trafficking den -- cops say the home was guarded by a large iron fence and outfitted with security cameras ... "a common tactic for drug traffickers" for obvious reasons.

Cops say one of the suspects has a rap sheet that includes violent crime -- including an incident where he was arrested for allegedly shooting a guy in the face during a drug deal.

One law enforcement source tells TMZ Sports ... Chris is not suspected of any wrongdoing and his only real connection is the fact he owns the property.

So, how the hell did Bosh's mother get mixed up in such a dangerous situation? Unclear at this point.

Mystery solved ... the new hot lady who's been hanging with Kristaps Porzingis is -- surprise -- A MODEL!!!

The NY Knicks star was canoodling with the hot blonde while leaving a NY nightclub earlier this week begging a few questions -- who is she and are they a thing???

Turns out, she goes by the name Bambi -- and we're told the two are definitely dating. Not sure how serious they are ... but they look pretty good together.

Rudy Tomjanovich isn't taking the most devastating punch in sports history personally anymore, telling TMZ Sports he actually feels sorry for Kermit Washington -- the guy who detonated his jaw in 1977.

Washington recently pled guilty to fraud charges and faces up to 8 years in prison ... but before that, he was most famous for leveling Rudy T. with a shot doctors said could've killed him.

No joke, Tomjanovich suffered a broken jaw and nose, plus a cerebral concussion ... and was leaking spinal fluid into his mouth.

Despite all that carnage, when we got him out in Beverly Hills, Rudy told us the brutal shot was water under the bridge and that he actually felt sorry for Washington -- whom he forgave long ago.

"I feel sorry for him. I know Kermit. We had made up after that incident and I know he was trying to make it like anybody and I feel for the guy."
