NBA star Zach Randolph has been formally charged with 2 misdemeanors for that August 9 weed arrest in L.A. ... TMZ Sports has learned.

We broke the story ... the Sacramento Kings star was arrested in Nickerson Gardens in Watts earlier this month ... which was followed by a crazy, violent standoff between cops and locals.

Randolph was initially arrested for felony possession of marijuana with intent to sell, a charge based on the large quantity of weed cops say he had at the time.

But now, prosecutors have reduced the charges down to misdemeanor possession of more than 1 ounce of marijuana and misdemeanor resisting arrest.

If convicted on both counts, Randolph faces up to 1 year in jail -- but since it's his first arrest, he likely won't spend another minute behind bars.

Overall, it's good news for Randolph who didn't seem too concerned when TMZ Sports spotted him leaving jail hours after the arrest.

LaMelo Ball's brand new BBB shoe deal will NOT disqualify him from playing high school basketball next season ... this according to California high school athletics officials.

TMZ Sports spoke with C.I.F. Southern Section asst. commissioner Thom Simmons who tells us ... Ball's deal with BBB is not a violation of the California Interscholastic Federation bylaws.

"As long as he's not representing his school in any way (wearing school uniforms, display of mascot, image of schools, etc.) in this venture he would not be in violation."

As far as college eligibility goes, no comment from the NCAA on how or if this would impact LaMelo's college career ... if he even chooses to play in college.

Victor Oladipo is putting all the whack NBA rappers to shame ... sounding like John Legend (seriously) in a single he dropped today to launch his music career.

The Indiana Pacers superstar went with a modern-day take of a Donny Hathaway classic for his debut effort -- and absolutely crushed it.

Oladipo talked about his other all-world talent in a social media post -- “They say when you have a gift you should share it because if you don't you're doing yourself, the world, and God who gave you the gift a disservice!!"

Victor also said his EP is coming soon -- "and it's straight fire."

LaVar Ball is dropping the the price to be a Big Baller -- debuting a new BBB shoe, The Melo Ball 1 ... and it's only $395!!!!

LaVar is calling the shoe a "industry game changer" -- and says it was "meticulously designed and inspired by" his 16-year-old son LaMelo Ball.

The shoe looks different than his brother Lonzo Ball's ZO2 kicks, which retail for $495.

BBB is already taking pre-orders but says the shoes are expected to ship in December.

BBB says LaMelo is the youngest basketball player to ever have his own signature shoe -- "History has been made."

Of course, Jay-Z bought 3 pairs of Lonzo's shoe -- saying he wanted to support a black-owned family business. Wonder if he'll pony up for the Melos, too?

Michael Phelps took his wife and his fetus out on the town on Tuesday -- treating the gang to a OneRepublic show!

Earlier that day, Nicole Phelps announced she was preggo with baby #2 -- but it wasn't until she hit the concert that she decided to show off her baby bump.

The Phelps' got to hang backstage with the band before the Phoenix show -- and tweeted about it, "These guys were amazing to see live the other night!! So talented!!!"

Nate Diaz's boxing coach says his fighter needs BIG money ... or else he ain't coming back to fight Conor McGregor a third time.

"At least $20 million, $30 million,” Richard Perez told Submission Radio. "Come on. UFC’s making a whole lot of money."

"They’re giving more to McGregor, so it’s not fair because it takes two in that ring to draw a crowd."

Conor's been droppin' hints that a Diaz trilogy is what he wants for his UFC return -- basically challenging Nate to do the dance at 155 pounds for the belt.

There's more ... Perez says Nate will whoop on Conor if he gets through training camp uninjured -- which he says wasn't the case for their UFC 202 rematch -- and guarantees his boy is the better boxer of the two.

Blake Griffin and Kendall Jenner went out to a fancy romantic dinner AGAIN -- this time, they were joined by fellow NBA star Chandler Parsons and Hailey Baldwin.

Blake and Kendall left Craig's in L.A. together and got into a waiting car. Chandler followed shortly after. Hailey was definitely with the group ... but didn't want to be part of the mass exodus.

Chandler and Hailey have been spotted together in the past (sunbathing together in June) but insist they're not exclusively dating.

Blake and Kendall have been spending a lot of time together, too. But no official confirmation there either.

Conor McGregor is toasting whiskey to Floyd Mayweather -- saying he's a solid fighter who won their match "hands down."

Conor also says he thinks Floyd could hold his own in an MMA cage.

It's all part of a long statement Conor issued on the fight on Wednesday night, which also explained why he ran out of gas in the 10th round.

"Getting to 12 rounds alone in practice was always the challenge in this camp," Conor admitted.

"We started slowly getting to the 12 and decreasing the stress in the rounds the closer it got to 12. I think for the time we had, 10 weeks in camp, it had to be done this way."

"If I began with a loaded 12 rounds under much stress I would have only hit a brick wall and lost progress as a result and potentially not made the fight. A little more time and we could have made the 12 cleanly, while under more stress, and made it thru the later rounds in the actual fight."

As for Floyd's fighting skills, Conor says he has a new respect for The Best Ever.

"Congrats to Floyd on a well fought match. Very experienced and methodical in his work."

"His experience, his patience and his endurance won him this fight hands down. I always told him he was not a fighter but a boxer. But sharing the ring with him he is certainly a solid fighter."

It's finally over ... Magic Johnson's month-long European vacation on a super pimped out mega-yacht is ending -- and all it cost him was about $3 MILLION!!!

As we previously reported, Magic flew his fam out to the Amalfi Coast on July 31st (on a private jet) and set sail on a super-yacht called the Siren ... which runs about $700k per week.

After touring the coast of Italy and hitting some of the best restaurants and shopping districts in the world with his wife, Cookie, and BFF Sam Jackson ... the Lakers legend is finally heading home.

But not before gifting the crew that helped him with custom Lakers jerseys!

Magic's known for being a super generous guy, so we're guessing there was some cash tips to go along with the Lakers swag ... at least judging by the smiles in the pic.

J.J. Watt's relief fund for Hurricane Harvey victims just cracked $7 MILLION -- and he ain't stoppin' there!

Watt's crowdfunding campaign started with a target of $500K on Sunday ... and quickly climbed into the millions with generous donations from star athletes like Chris Paul.

Now, the Houston Texans star is steppin' it up even more -- setting a new goal of $10 million ... the same amount donated by Houston Rockets owner Leslie Alexander.

FYI, Watt shared his plans for the cash when he hit $6 mil -- saying his team is filling up semitrucks to distribute water, food and other supplies throughout Houston.

Anthony Joshua just threatened Deontay Wilder ... and it all went down during a FaceTime call with 50 Cent.

Joshua -- the reigning WBA, IBF and IBO heavyweight champ -- was chatting with the rapper on his phone when his friend asked 50 for a role on "Power."

That's when AJ chimes in, "I told him we're gonna f*ck up Deontay Wilder! We're comin' soon!"

Deontay -- the reigning WBC heavyweight champion -- has been calling out Joshua for a while ... hoping the two can clash in what would be a pretty epic heavyweight showdown.

Joshua is 19-0 -- and knocked out Wladimir Klitschko earlier this year. Wilder is 38-0 with 37 knockouts.

A young fan ran up to greet Lionel Messi as he was getting off Argentina soccer's team bus in Uruguay on Wednesday ... only to get snatched up and dragged away by a security guard.

Messi wasn't havin' none of that ... ordering the security team to run down the kid and bring him back for a quick meet-and-greet.

The boy looked SUPER sad when he got grabbed ... but was all smiles after meeting the FC Barcelona superstar.

In the end, the kid got his shot ... and Messi looked like a total hero (instead of a tax cheat).

Von Miller got smashed on by rookie lineman Garett Bolles in a competitive game of mini-basketball in the Broncos locker room ... with Bolles tearing the rim down in the process!

FYI, Bolles was the guy who wussed out during the rookie hot dog eating contest and got the "Game of Thrones" shame treatment from his teammates when he spit out his wieners.

Despite dominating the 1-on-1 ... Bolles ended up getting shamed -- AGAIN -- and it's hilarious.
