Ray Lewis to Kaepernick: Stay Quiet About Social Activism!

Published | Updated

Ray Lewis has a message for Colin Kaepernick -- when it comes to your social activism, tone it down!

The Baltimore Ravens legend just posted a video saying he applauds what Colin stood up for last season ... but says he needs to change his PR plan.

"What you do off the field, don't let too many people know," Ray said ... "because they gonna judge you anyway. No matter what you do. No matter if it's good or bad."

Ray added, "If you do nothing else young man, get back on the football field and let your play speak for itself."

The problem with Ray's advice ... it goes completely against what Colin is trying to achieve with his "I Know My Rights" campaign and his "Million Dollar Pledge."

Colin's position has been that he's trying to shine a light on communities in need and educate young people -- and he's using his fame as an NFL player to help spread the message.

Staying quiet and sticking to football seems like the exact opposite of Colin's off-the-field goals.

Still, Ray says he supports Colin, he's praying for him and considers him a brother for life.

Floyd Mayweather My Jumper's Undefeated, Too!! Drains 11 Straight Shots

Conor McGregor better hope Floyd Mayweather's shots don't land like this on August 26 ... 'cause T.B.E. hit the hardwood Tuesday to show off his jumper ... and the dude couldn't miss.

Mayweather took a break from his boxing training to put on his best Ray Allen impression ... connecting with the bottom of the net an impressive 11 straight times.

We've seen Floyd's hoop game in the past ... and while he might not have the ideal height of a baller at 5'8", he sure has the shooter's touch ... when unguarded.

GIVEN THE BOOT

Ex-UCF kicker Donald De La Haye tells TMZ Sports ... school officials are pulling his scholarship over his YouTube page -- and now he's trying to figure out how he'll pay for his education.

Donald says school officials and NCAA officials told him to stop monatizing his YouTube page -- which has close to 100k subscribers. They also wanted him to give up some of the profits from the page as part of the NCAA's rules prohibiting players from cashing in on their images.

Donald refused and the University of Central Florida decided this week he's ineligible to play.

TMZ Sports spoke with Donald who says he's extremely upset at the situation -- calling it unfair -- and says he believes his scholarship is in the process of being pulled.

"Gotta find some money to pay for school," Donald said when asked if he was planning to stay at UCF ... "Gotta scrape it up some how, some way."

As far as his plan to challenge UCF or the NCAA, Donald says his only hope is to hire a big shot lawyer -- and he can't afford it.

Meantime, he's still making videos.

JUST KICK IT

Before Terry Crews took over Hollywood, he was an NFL linebacker who says he was ready to die on the field -- same mind-set as NY Jets rookie Jamal Adams.

But things have changed.

"I wanted to die on the field when I was playing ... but not anymore," Crews tells TMZ Sports.

Of course, Crews became a massive star AFTER his 5 year NFL career -- starring in huge movies ("The Expendables"), huge TV shows ("Brooklyn Nine-Nine") and big ad campaigns (Old Spice, anyone?)

The message? There's MUCH more to life than football -- and he's living proof.

Crews also shared his message with a mother and her football playing son outside of Craig's -- advising the kid to be a kicker because it's safer.

The kid's mom asked Terry if he would let his son play football with all of the CTE concerns -- you gotta hear Crews' answer.

As for Adams, the Jets safety told the media this week, "If I had a perfect place to die, I would die on the field."

Dana White I Spoke with Tyron Woodley ... We're Cool Now

Published | Updated

Seems the war between Tyron Woodley and Dana White has cooled off ... with the UFC president telling TMZ Sports they finally talked things out after blasting each other in the media.

It all started after UFC 214 -- White ripped Tyron's performance against Demian Maia. Woodley fired back demanding a public apology from White or else he would "start leaking some sh*t that people don't want to be out in the wind."

We reached out to White to see where things stand and he told us, "Woodley and I talked and he said he was just pissed and upset and didn't mean it."

We also spoke with Tyron who says, "We good."

So, water under the bridge ... at least for now.

Michael Jordan Fires Back at LaVar Ball: 'He Couldn't Beat Me If I was 1-Legged'

Published | Updated

The GOAT is finally addressing the Big Baller ... with Michael Jordan saying once and for all LaVar Ball "couldn't beat me (in 1-on-1) if I was 1-legged."

His Airness was at his basketball camp in Santa Barbara on Monday when he was asked about LaVar's comments that he'd "make Jordan cry" if they were to play against each other.

M.J. initially didn't want to entertain the idea, but ended up dropping the ether on Papa Ball.

Gonna guess LaVar will have something to say about the situation. Stay tuned.

11:25 AM PT-- The BBB just hit back at MJ on Twitter ... saying, "Michael, you vs Lavar | 1 v 1 | you with 1 leg, Lavar with 1 arm. Has to be on Pay-Per-View. Let's make it happen. YOU WON'T."

Raiders' Gareon Conley Rape Allegations Were Hurtful & Wrong ... But I Learned Something

Published | Updated

Oakland Raiders rookie Gareon Conley is speaking for the first time since he was cleared in his rape case -- saying he knows he's 100% innocent but "could've exercised better judgment."

As we previously reported, a grand jury decided to NOT move forward with charges against the 1st round draft pick -- after a woman claimed Conley raped her in an Ohio hotel back in April.

Conley claimed they engaged in consensual oral sex but he did not force himself on her in any way.

Now, Conley tells TMZ Sports, "I am thankful that this burden has been lifted as I enter training camp with my new teammates and organization. I am thankful to the City of Cleveland and the Cleveland police for reaching a conclusion based on the facts, not speculation. I am thankful to the Raiders organization for believing in me, drafting me, and supporting me."

"Finally, I am thankful to my agent and my team for never relenting in their defense of me as a person and client."

"The past few months have been extremely trying for me and my family. Although I was the target of malicious and false accusations, I do realize however that I could've exercised better judgment and that there are still lessons for me to take away and grow from."

"I look forward to earning my role with the Raiders and hopefully rewarding them for believing in me."

File Under: "Too Little, Too Late"

Kevin Hart wants his good friend, Chris Paul, to stay in Los Angeles so badly, he's using his own money to convince him to back out of the Rockets deal.

Didn't work though.

Kev and CP3 hit up Madeo for dinner -- and on the way out, Hart whipped out his wallet to pay for Paul's valet ... telling his pal, "Don't leave L.A., Chris!"

Chris smiled and told Kev, "Don't do that."

Obviously, that ship has sailed -- Chris signed with the Houston Rockets after 6 seasons with the Clippers.

But free valet is free valet!

WE'RE NOT BEEFIN'

Sorry, Shaq and LaVar -- looks like the epic matchup between your sons ain't happenin' ... 'cause Shareef O'Neal says he's gunning to be 1-and-done before LaMelo Ball makes it to UCLA.

We got Shareef leaving LAX with his mom, Shaunie ... and the Arizona Wildcats recruit told us straight-up that he wants to dip outta 'Zona after just one year to go get that NBA money.

Since LaMelo's one year behind him ... that would mean no O'Neal on Ball action -- until the NBA.

There's more ... Shareef says he'd prefer not to follow in his dad's footsteps in the endorsement world ... meaning Reebok's probably off the table. Big Baller Brand isn't on the kid's short list either.

As for the O'Neal vs. Ball rivalry ... Shareef told us IT AIN'T REAL -- and that he hasn't even listened to Shaq's epic diss track.

Yeah ... right.

UFC's Dan Henderson Jones Should NOT Fight Brock ... Here's Why

Published | Updated

UFC fans are hurtin' to see Jon Jones fight Brock Lesnar next ... but Dan Henderson is stompin' out the potential superfight.

Why? Hendo told TMZ Sports he's got ZERO interest in seeing Jones vs. Brock, "because it's not for anything, other than for fun."

In other words -- it'd all be for entertainment, a la Mayweather vs. McGregor ... not like the good ol' days when all dudes cared about was stackin' belts.

Henderson would know -- he's one of the most decorated champs in MMA history.

The legend did give Jon props for his comeback -- where Jones brutally KO'd Daniel Cormier to win back the light heavyweight championship ... and then put Lesnar on blast.

NFL's Gareon Conley Off the Hook in Rape Case ... No Charges

Published | Updated

Didn't take long for a grand jury to decide Gareon Conley's fate -- the Oakland Raiders rookie cornerback will NOT be charged with rape stemming from an April incident, officials say.

The 1st round draft pick was accused of raping a woman at an Ohio hotel just days before the NFL Draft -- and prosecutors kicked the case over to the grand jury on Monday morning.

But just a few hours later, the jury made a decision to NOT move forward with charges against the former Ohio State star.

The Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office issued a statement, saying:

"After a thorough investigation by the Cleveland Police Department, the facts and circumstances surrounding the allegations of sexual assault against Gareon Conley were presented to a Cuyahoga County Grand Jury. The Grand Jury returned a No Bill on all possible charges."

Conley had previously admitted to having oral sex with the accuser but insisted it was consensual. The woman had claimed Conley forced himself on her and engaged in vaginal intercourse.

Conley had denied any wrongdoing from the start.
