Lamar Jackson says Amazon is selling clothes that are straight-up rip-offs of his nicknames and persona ... and now, the NFL MVP is suing the corporate giant over it all.

Jackson -- according to a new lawsuit obtained by TMZ Sports -- says Amazon is selling T-shirts and hoodies that he claims the company shouldn't be allowed to sell.

The Baltimore Ravens QB says he's seen Lamarvelous shirts, Action Jackson tees and Not Bad For A Running Back hoodies -- among other items -- that all "pirate" his brand and "use his name, likeness, image and persona for commercial gain without permission."

Of course, throughout his electric 2019 season in Baltimore ... Jackson embraced those nicknames and phrases -- and even sold clothes of his own with those monikers on them.

But, Jackson says the alleged knock-off items are killing his ability to make profits off the nicknames and images ... claiming in the suit Amazon is confusing the public into thinking he's somehow involved with the knockoffs.

Lamar says the sale of the knockoff items on Amazon have caused him irreparable harm ... and now he wants the company to pay up for hurting the value of his personal brand.

Joe Montana thinks it's a damn shame Tom Brady won't finish his career in New England ... and he's laying the blame for the GOAT's exit at the feet of the Patriots.

"I don’t know what’s going on inside there," Montana said Wednesday, "but somebody made a mistake."

Joe Cool told USA TODAY Sports there's just no way in hell that breakup needed to happen ... saying the Patriots really should have done more to keep their quarterback in the mix.

Of course, Montana doesn't necessarily think Brady's without fault for the dissolution of the relationship ... Joe said when he talked to Tom at the Super Bowl last month, he got the feeling that TB12 wanted to yield more power than Bill Belichick likely wanted to give up.

"He wants control," Joe said. "I mean, he wants a lot of control. I don’t know what Tampa Bay gave him, but at some point in time, you’re just a player."

"You can try to get what you can and do what you want, but in the end, you’re still not in the hierarchy when it comes to hiring people, firing people and all that."

Still, Montana thinks the Patriots should have worked it out ... saying his situation at the end of his 49ers career was not the same as Brady's current one.

“I had a different story, where they had made a decision," Montana said. "He, obviously, they never would have gotten rid of. I still don’t understand how New England let him get away. I don’t understand that.”

Joe believes Tom is going to have a lot more fun in Tampa regardless ... but he's warning Bruce Arians to implement some Patriots philosophies into his offense, or else it could be trouble for Tom.

"He’ll be a good addition to that team, as long as they don’t hold the ball like they’ve been doing," Joe says. "I don’t think he fits into that category to hold the ball."

Terrell Davis tells TMZ Sports he's concerned Todd Gurley might never regain his old form in Atlanta ... saying a similar knee issue in 1999 caused him to lose a permanent step.

"I was never the same," the Denver Broncos legend says.

Gurley tore his ACL in college at Georgia in 2014 ... but didn't have problems with the surgically repaired knee up until 2019 -- when the Rams RB dealt with arthritis.

Gurley was still able to run on it, but he clearly wasn't the same guy ... and following this past season, the Rams straight-up cut him over the decline in his play.

Fortunately for the tailback, the Falcons believe he's still got some juice left --- they signed him right away -- but Davis tells us he's skeptical Gurley can be a premier RB again in the future.

"They said he had an arthritic knee," said Davis, who tore his ACL playing for the Broncos in 1999. "And, I said, 'I've had that. I understand what it feels like.'"

Davis was forced to retire before the 2002 season ... saying his arthritic knee made it impossible for him to feel like the same dude that won a Super Bowl MVP just a few years prior.

"What happens is you feel like your knee -- like you have just enough swelling in your knee, just enough, to where it doesn't stop you from running, but you don't have the full flexibility or mobility and you just feel like you're just a second slower," TD says.

"When you think about making a cut, it's like the signal from your brain to your knee is like, it just comes just a fraction of a second too slow where your knee doesn't respond to it. And, that's what was happening for me."

Don't get it twisted ... Davis still thinks Todd has more than enough gas left in the tank to be an effective NFL RB -- he's just wary about the prospects of TG returning to superstar status.

Donovan Smith -- the man who will be in charge of blocking Tom Brady's blindside in Tampa Bay -- tells TMZ Sports he thinks with the addition of TB12, the Bucs' O is as good as ANYONE'S in the NFL!

"I definitely do like my lineup against anybody," Smith says. "We got a lot of pieces and stuff that play a pivotal part in our game and it's going to be fun."

Smith ain't kiddin' ... Brady, paired with elite wideouts Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, to go along with two really good tight ends in Cameron Brate and O.J. Howard, is a pretty stacked roster.

Smith says Ronald Jones in the backfield can't be slept on either ... and tells us he's excited as hell to block for it all at the left tackle position next season.

"It's going to be fun to watch and to be a part of," Smith says ... "Like I said, I like my squad."

In fact, Smith is already convinced there will be no letdown whatsoever for the Bucs this year now that Tom's in town ... telling us, "It's going to be a good year."

As for what Brady's reception will be like in Florida ... Smith -- who's played for the Bucs ever since they drafted him in 2015 -- tells us the GOAT is DEFINITELY going to feel the love!

Jon Beason says his ex-team screwed over Cam Newton ... telling TMZ Sports by releasing the QB so late in free agency, Carolina really hurt his chances of finding a new job.

"It's just unfair for the player who's done so much for the organization," Beason says.

The Panthers tried to trade Cam earlier this month ... but when talks with teams never materialized into a deal, they flat-out cut him Tuesday.

Newton is now free to sign with anybody ... but as Beason points out, it's so late in free agency, most teams either have the starting QB they want or they're out of cap room to sign a former MVP.

"Release him prior to free agency!" the ex-linebacker says.

Don't get it twisted ... Jon -- who played with Cam for 2 seasons in Carolina in 2011 and 2012 -- says he still believes the QB will find a new home, and tells us he believes Newton is going to be more motivated than ever to play well.

As for if the Panthers made the right call by switching Cam for Teddy Bridgewater ... Beason certainly doesn't think so, telling us he believes Cam is one of only a handful of QBs in the league capable of winning a ring.

By the way, it seems Cam is motivated to prove Beason right ... 'cause he's already been in the gym training like a madman for the 2020 season.

"Trademark" Tom Brady is BACK -- the new Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback is already rushing to secure some new phrases after switching teams -- this time, it's "TB X TB"

Of course, the media -- as well as the Bucs' very own Twitter account -- ran away with the play on TB to TB when the news broke ... and now TB12 is looking to lock it down. Just last week, his agents filed an application for the trademark, according to the L.A. Times.

The application states the phrase would be used on a bunch of merch -- from jerseys to shirts to sweatshirts ... even sleepwear.

TB12 is no stranger to the trademark game ... but it hasn't always been smooth sailin' for the 6-time Super Bowl winner.

Remember, Brady took a lot of heat when he infamously applied for the "Tom Terrific" phrase (which was Mets legend Tom Seaver's signature moniker).

Brady later explained he filed to prevent people from calling him the nickname, which he hates.

Police are actively looking into the death of a 22-year-old Washington State football player after he was found dead Tuesday in his apartment, TMZ Sports has learned.

Bryce Beekman -- who started all 13 games at safety in 2019 -- was one of top players on the WSU defense. He was 5th on the team in tackles last season.

But, cops in Pullman, Washington received a call to Beekman's apartment around 5:44 PM on Tuesday for a person with "breathing problems" ... and when they arrived, it was too late.

No official cause of death has been released but a spokesperson for the Pullman Police Dept. tells TMZ Sports there is an active investigation into the situation, as with all death cases.

Beekman was well-liked by his teammates and coaches -- several of whom have already commented on social media.

WR Renard Bell wrote, "Fly high. Forever my dawg." Offensive lineman Liam Ryan added, "Cherish your loved ones. Every second matters."

WSU Athletic Director Pat Chun made a statement Wednesday morning, "Bryce was a tremendous young man, great teammate and will be missed by all."

"We send our deepest condolences and prayers to the Beekman family and his many friends."

Beekman -- from Baton Rouge -- transferred to the Cougars last January from Arizona Western Junior College and wore #26 as a tribute to the late great NFL safety Sean Taylor.

A woman claims the Dodgers are at fault for serious injuries she suffered in a Bird scooter crash at their stadium last year ... and now, she's suing the MLB team over it all.

Samantha McGowen says she and her boyfriend hit up the Dodgers-Rockies game on Sept. 20, 2019, in Los Angeles ... when they left their box seats in the 7th inning to head home (typical L.A. fan early exit).

The problem? McGowen says when she grabbed a Bird scooter to jet over to the ride-sharing area of the stadium's parking lot ... she crashed over a root/cement uprising on the ground.

McGowen says she was injured BADLY in the fall ... claiming she fractured both sides of her jaw, ruptured her jaw joint, cracked 6 teeth and also broke her leg.

In the lawsuit, obtained by TMZ Sports, she says there wasn't good lighting around the root ... and the hazard yellow lines the team had painted on the uprising were faded.

She says she's suffered severe emotional distress and constant pain since the accident ... and now wants the team to pay up.

McGowen is suing for damages ... asking for an undisclosed amount.
