Oscar De La Hoya Denies Sexual Assault Allegation ... 'Completely False'

Published | Updated
UPDATE

6:02 AM PT -- 10/22 -- Oscar De La Hoya is firing back at the allegations -- claiming the lawsuit is bogus and calling himself a "prime target" for a false lawsuit.

UPDATE

"A frivolous lawsuit was filed recently alleging that Oscar De La Hoya sexually assaulted ‘Jane Doe,’ which is completely false," Oscar's rep said in a statement.

UPDATE

"Oscar is a very successful businessman, running one of the country’s leading sports and entertainment companies – thus a prime target. It is worth noting that both recent lawsuits have been filed by the same attorney who is looking to make a name for himself. We vehemently deny these allegations and look forward to vigorously defending Oscar’s good name and reputation."

Oscar De La Hoya is being sued by a woman who claims the boxing legend sexually assaulted and battered her during a booze-fueled 2017 hookup ... and the allegations are graphic.

The woman who filed the suit uses the alias "Jane Doe" to protect her identity -- but describes herself as a licensed vocational nurse who met Oscar in 2016.

In her suit, filed in L.A. County Superior Court, Doe admits the two had an ongoing consensual sexual relationship, but says things went awry in Nov. 2017 when he invited her over to check out his new house in Pasadena.

Doe claims Oscar had bottles of alcohol and "a bag of what appeared to be cocaine" in his kitchen when she arrived -- and she claims it became clear, he was on a mission to get wasted.

After Oscar became intoxicated, she claims the boxer invited her to the bedroom to hook up -- and during the encounter, he asked if she was down to "experiment" sexually.

Doe claims she declined various unusual requests and Oscar became frustrated -- but things came to a head when he "ultimately held her down with one arm while forcefully trying to insert his fist into Plaintiff's vagina."

In her suit, Doe claims she "repeatedly said no and demanded that De La Hoya stop. However, De La Hoya overpowered her and suddenly and forcefully pushed his hand and fist into Plaintiff's vagina."

Doe claims she screamed in pain and yelled at Oscar -- but he just laughed and told her to take a shot of alcohol. The woman claims she refused the booze and angrily left the house.

After the incident, Doe claims she "felt extreme swelling and pain for which she was prescribed medication at urgent care."

She also "sought treatment with a Doctor of Psychology and Certified Sex Therapist who diagnosed Plaintiff with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder arising from the sexual battery by De La Hoya."

The woman does not say in her suit if she ever filed a report with police.

Doe claims she still suffers from extreme distress, humiliation, indignation and outrage -- along with depression, anxiety and related symptoms associated with post-traumatic stress disorder.

In her suit, filed by attorney Greg Kirakosian, Doe is demanding unspecified damages for sexual assault, sexual battery, gender violence, negligence and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

We reached out to multiple people in De La Hoya's camp multiple times -- so far, no word back.

Michael Jordan Steph Curry's No Hall of Famer ... Yet!

Published

"He’s still a great player, not a hall of famer yet, though."

That's Michael Jordan talking about ... get this ... STEPH CURRY!!!

His Airness made the statement on Tuesday's "Today" show -- when he was backing an old claim that the 4 dudes he would select in a pickup game would be Hakeem Olajuwon, Scottie Pippen, Magic Johnson and James Worthy.

When Craig Melvin asked if Steph Curry should be offended that he isn't on MJ's list, Jordan replied ... "I hope not. He's still a great player. Not a Hall of Famer yet, though."

Of course, Curry is a LOCK for the Hall of Fame -- 3x NBA champ, 2x MVP, 6x NBA All-Star ... and he's widely considered one of (if not) the greatest shooter of all time.

Guessing Curry won't take this too seriously ...

During the interview, Jordan also revealed he no longer plays pickup basketball because he's afraid his hyper-competitive nature will kick in and "it will take over."

Melvin says MJ is concerned that he would compete TOO HARD and end up hurting himself.

So, no more hoops for the greatest of all time.

Big Show
WHEN OPPORTUNITY KNOCKS

WWE superstar Big Show -- who's fought guys like Hulk Hogan, Floyd Mayweather and John Cena -- has a warning for newcomer Cain Velasquez -- there's NO ONE as scary as Brock Lesnar!!!

TMZ Sports spoke with the wrestling legend about the ex-UFC star's upcoming fight with Lesnar at 'SmackDown' on Friday ... and we had to ask if Cain has a snowball's chance in hell at winning his first match.

"I'mma be real honest with you, I’ve been wrestling for 25 years, I have never seen a monster like Brock Lesner and the warpath that’s he’s been on for the past few years," Show tells us at LAX.

"He's stronger, he’s faster, he’s seasoned, he’s confident in where he is. He’s tough."

Big Show knows what he's talking about -- he's had several legendary matches against Lesnar in his career ... including SmackDown in 2003 when the freakin' RING COLLAPSED!!!

Of course, Cain and Lesnar met in the Octagon years ago, with Velasquez taking the win at UFC 121 ... but Big Show doesn't see history repeating itself.

As for critics of the matchup complaining about putting Cain against Brock in his first-ever WWE event, Show says people should just enjoy the fight for what it is.

"My first match was against Hulk Hogan for the World Championship. So, I can’t really throw that 'rushing' rock in a glass house, you know what I mean? If the opportunity knocks, take it. You can’t get mad at anyone who gets an opportunity and they take it."

Reyes is coming off a 1st-round highlight-reel knockout of ex-UFC champ Chris Weidman -- and he tells TMZ Sports he's sick of waiting for his crack at the G.O.A.T.

"I've taken out 6 guys in a row in my division. I'm undefeated, nobody's ever beat me. I don't have quit in me. I don't know how to lose. That's not what I do. I'm here to win fights, and I'm here to win 'em emphatically."

When asked if his team has had official talks with the UFC or Jones to get a fight on the books, Reyes broke it down this way ...

"We're working on it right now but it almost feels like he's hiding behind his managers at this point."

"His managers are trying to tell me what I need, telling me I need another fight. Don't tell me what I need dude. How 'bout you worry about your boy! I know he's scared to fight me!"

Reyes also told us why he's different from Daniel Cormier, Anthony Smith and other UFC stars who have vowed to beat Jones only to come up short.

Ya gotta listen to what Reyes has to say ... he wants this fight BAD!!!

"Let's get this money! Let's f**king go!!!"

Charles Barkley Defends LeBron Over China Comments 'Everybody Was Really Unfair'

Published | Updated

"Every major American company does business in China and it's not fair to act like LeBron's gonna save the world."

That's Charles Barkley staunchly DEFENDING LeBron James and the comments he made about the NBA's issues with China ... telling TMZ Sports Bron's getting done DIRTY.

Of course, LeBron has been taking a TON of heat for condemning Houston Rockets GM Daryl Morey for posting a pro-Hong Kong tweet and creating an international incident. LeBron says Morey wasn't educated on the topic before weighing in on the issue publicly.

People were hoping LeBron would go after China for attempting to quash free speech and punishing people who criticized the government. But, that didn't happen.

Enter Barkley ... who put it this way -- "I thought everybody was really unfair to LeBron."

"Everybody does business in China. Every American company does business in China. Why should LeBron not be able to protect his financial interests?"

Our photog, Charlie, challenged Barkley, telling him people looked up to LeBron as a warrior for free speech, democracy and social justice ... and they were disappointed to see him go after Morey instead of China.

"Everybody don't have to pick every battle to fight," Barkley explained ... "LeBron is passionate about the things he wants to be passionate about. We don't get to tell him what we want him to talk about."

Barkley says it's obvious LeBron is protecting his business interests in China, and he doesn't fault James ONE BIT for it.

"Why do all these other companies get to invest in China and LeBron doesn't have to protect his business interests?!?"

In the end, Barkley says LeBron's an "amazing guy" and "respects the hell" out of him.

As for the NBA, commissioner Adam Silver told us he's still working on rebuilding the relationship with China and doesn't know if the league will go back to play games in China next year.

Gervonta Davis Cuts Check In Mall Assault Case ... Charge Dropped

Published | Updated

Gervonta Davis is officially off the hook in his ATM assault case -- after officials say the boxing superstar made things right with his alleged victim ... using cold hard cash.

TMZ Sports broke the story ... 24-year-old Davis allegedly got physical with a man at an ATM at an upscale outdoor mall in Virginia on Feb. 17. And, when cops arrived, the situation got even CRAZIER.

Cops say Gervonta "directed derogatory and offensive language" at them ... and pics obtained by TMZ Sports show a clearly heated Gervonta speaking with one of the officers.

Davis was later charged with one misdemeanor count of assault -- and was facing up to 1 YEAR in jail for the crime.

But, a court official tells TMZ Sports the charge was formally dismissed on Monday ... saying Davis reached a deal with prosecutors.

According to the official, Davis agreed to write the alleged victim a check for injuries suffered in the incident. Officials would not say how much Gervonta forked over. But, in exchange, prosecutors dropped the charge.

It's good timing for Gervonta ... the Floyd Mayweather protege has seen his stock soar over the past year -- and at 22-0, he's in line for some BIG MONEY fights.

We've reached out to the boxer for comment ... but so far, no word back.

FRIENDLY SPAR

You think the campaign trail is tough? Try sparring with a UFC champ!!

That's what presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard did in Boston last week -- trading shots with strawweight superstar Weili Zhang ... and TMZ Sports has the video.

Remember, Gabbard played a huge role in helping the Chinese superstar get a visa so she could come to the U.S. on a media tour.

Gabbard, a U.S. military combat vet and current member of the Army National Guard, is a HUGE fan of MMA and has watched Zhang compete for years.

So, when the opportunity came up to spar with the 30-year-old champ, the congresswoman from Hawaii wasted no time strapping on the gear!!

You can see in the video, shot Friday morning, Gabbard knows what she's doing as the two exchange kicks and punches. At one point, famed MMA coach Duke Roufus tells the women, "No elbows!"

After the training sesh, the two hung out and talked -- with Gabbard stressing that sports can help build relationships between countries that aren't exactly on great terms ... like the U.S. and China.

POST-SPAR CHAT

"There is so much conflict, sports like MMA have an opportunity to build relationships and help us get to know each other as people instead of the misunderstanding we see too often."

Zhang tweeted after the meeting, "Today I had the honor to meet and train with Miss @tulsigabbard and she is a very strong martial artist. We had a great training session taught by @coachdukeroufus and his team. It is a happy day when martial arts brings people together."

Zhang is currently is 20-1 as a pro -- on a 20 fight win streak -- and recently called out Valentina Shevchenko, which would be a GREAT fight!

Weili Zhang -- the reigning UFC strawweight champ -- says Joanna is washed up and does NOT deserve a shot at her belt, despite beating Michelle Waterson this past weekend.

Kareem Hunt Returns to Browns Practice ... Hug from Baker Mayfield

Published | Updated

Kareem Hunt's 8-game suspension is ALMOST up -- and Monday morning, the Browns running back was back on the practice field getting hugs from his teammates.

Check out Baker Mayfield greeting Hunt with open arms as he gets ready to make his 2019 debut on Nov. 10 against the Buffalo Bills. Seems most of his teammates are stoked for Hunt to get back to action.

Remember, the NFL handed down an 8-game suspension in March following 2 violent off-field incidents ... including an altercation with a woman at a Cleveland hotel in Feb. 2018.

But now, he's been cleared to participate in team activities -- which is why he was at the Browns practice facility Monday morning.

On the field, 24-year-old Hunt is a BEAST -- and was a huge part of the KC Chiefs offense the past 2 years.

The Chiefs cut Hunt in November after TMZ Sports posted video of the hotel altercation -- and the Browns snatched him up a few months later.

Hunt has said he's working on becoming a better person through counseling, alcohol and anger management and religion -- and Browns honchos have publicly supported him along the way.

Back in May, head coach Freddie Kitchens said Hunt is "always gonna have our support."

CC Sabathia Emotional Goodbye Letter To Yankees ... 'Love You Guys!'

CC Sabathia just wrote a goodbye letter to his New York teammates and the sport of baseball altogether ... and we gotta say, it's getting a little dusty in here.

With the Yanks getting eliminated by the Astros on Saturday ... the future Hall of Famer's career is now over -- and he took some time to reflect on it on social media Monday.

"Through the ups and downs, baseball has always been my home," 39-year-old Sabathia wrote ... "From Cleveland, to Milwaukee, New York, and everywhere in between, I'm so thankful to have experienced this journey with every teammate past and present."

Sabathia tried to pitch through injuries to get the Yanks past Houston and into another World Series ... but he couldn't quite finish the run, reinjuring himself in Game 4.

Still, the pitching legend got a huge ovation from fans when he walked off the NY mound for the final time last week.

"I'm so proud of this year's team, we fought til the end," Sabathia said, "Love you guys!"

Steelers' Linebacker Arrested for Assault Allegedly Roughed Up Star Athlete GF

Published | Updated

Pittsburgh Steelers LB Anthony Chickillo spent part of his bye week behind bars ... TMZ Sports has confirmed the 26-year-old was arrested after cops say he admitted to getting violent with his track star GF.

Cops say Chickillo was out at the exclusive Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Farmington, Penn. when he got into an argument with his girlfriend, Canadian track athlete Alysha Newman, at the resort's casino.

FYI, 25-year-old Newman is a star pole vaulter in Canada. She made the Olympic team in 2016 and won gold at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Newman told officers the spat began over table games ... and when the argument carried on into the couple's room, things turned violent.

Newman told cops that Chickillo grabbed both of her arms and threw her against a wall and door. She says the 6'3", 253-pound football player then shoved her to the ground.

Newman also claims Chickillo smashed her $900 iPhone in the altercation ... and says she was forced to lock herself in the bathroom until police arrived to diffuse the situation.

When cops showed up ... they say they noticed "visible redness" to both Newman's right and left bicep areas as well as "bruising beginning to form" -- and say Chickillo admitted to pushing her to the ground.

They arrested Chickillo ... and eventually hit the linebacker with charges of simple assault, criminal mischief and harassment.

Cops also tell TMZ Sports Newman was hit with a summary citation for harassment for her role in the altercation.

Chickillo -- who had his arraignment hearing in Pennsylvania on Sunday -- was released on $10,000 bail ... but is due back in court next week.

The Steelers -- who were on a bye this past week and are set to play the Dolphins next Monday -- released a statement, saying, "We are aware of an incident involving Anthony Chickillo last night and are still gathering information. Until we have further details we will not provide any further comments."

Chickillo has been a regular on the Steelers' roster over the past five years ... playing in 57 games and recording 7.5 sacks.

Tyron Woodley Explodes On Kelvin Gastelum 'I Will F**k You Up Right Now'

Published | Updated

Tyron Woodley did NOT take kindly to Kelvin Gastelum calling for a rematch -- and has this message for the middleweight fighter, "I will f*ck you up right now."

Remember, Gastelum came into the TMZ newsroom earlier month for the "UFC Roundtable," and told us he would love another crack at Woodley, after losing to Tyron in 2015.

"Ever since then we've gone back and forth," Gastelum said ... "I've called him out multiple times. But, ultimately we respect each other. I think it's more of a competitive rivalry, nothing personal."

Well, clearly Woodley doesn't feel the same way, because when Tyron was asked about the comments on "The Hollywood Beatdown," the Chosen One WENT OFF!

"Kelvin Fatselum? The one who fought me at middleweight when I was a welterweight and got his ass whooped when I broke my foot? The one I gave him his money back and now he's talking sh*t?"

FYI, Gastelum came in 10 pounds overweight for their fight at UFC 183 and was fined 30% of his purse. Tyron says he sent the money back to Kelvin because he felt bad for him.

But, Tyron also broke his own foot in that fight and still got the victory via split decision -- and now, he's firing back at Kelvin.

"Why you wanna get your ass whooped again? You got beat on one foot, I played games with you. You didn't land one punch. You missed weight by 10 pounds. I gave you your money back."

Tyron also takes issue with the fact Gastelum now refers to himself as "The Middleweight King."

"You have never fought for a middleweight title and won my man. What are you the king of? You the King of Qdoba. You the King of Chipotle. That's what you the king of."

"I don't have no love for you G. I ain't got no pity for you," Tyron continued.

"I was respectful, I didn't bash you when you missed weight. And, now you wanna talk sh*t about me? I will f*ck you up right now. I will f*ck you up in the Octagon. You garbage, your whole squad is garbage."

There's more ... make sure to check out the rest of "The Hollywood Beatdown" on the TMZ Sports YouTube channel.

Brian Bosworth Backs NCAA In Fight Over Calif. Bill ... Kill It!!!

Published | Updated
Brian Bosworth
STICKY SITUATION

Brian Bosworth says he's actually on the NCAA's side when it comes to the controversial Calif. bill that would help athletes get paid ... telling TMZ Sports it's a BAD idea!!

"When you're in college," Bosworth says, "you're going to college to get an education."

Of course, the Boz is the LAST guy we expected to have this take ... remember, at Oklahoma, he famously blasted the NCAA by wearing a "National Communists Against Athletes" shirt at the 1987 Orange Bowl.

But, when we got the ex-LB out at Reagan Airport over the weekend ... he told us he's now on the org's side in its fight against a bill that would force it to stop punishing athletes who get paid.

"You got some guys on the team that have star status, and other guys on the team that are going to feel shafted," the Boz says. "I don't think it's a good idea to put levels like that on the team."

Instead, Bosworth's solution to the whole problem is simple -- just give athletes in both women's and men's sports the same stipend ... and let that be all the pay they need.

"Everybody gets the same thing across the board," Bosworth says.

Seems like both Brian and NCAA are fighting a losing battle ... the CA bill is set to go into effect in 2023 -- and Sen. Cory Booker has said he's fighting to make it a national law too.
