Donald Trump's campaign has a new, powerful ally -- football legend Herschel Walker is backing his ex-boss because of two words -- unpolished and trustworthy.

Walker knows The Donald well ... he was a contestant on "Celebrity Apprentice" and toted the rock for the New Jersey Generals -- Trump's USFL team -- back in the '80s.

He tells TMZ Sports he has no issues with Trump's incendiary straight talk because ..."I'm tired of politicians. I'm tired of promises. I know Donald will keep his word. He'll do what he says."

As for Trump's more controversial remarks -- Megyn Kelly and Mexicans -- Herschel thinks he does need to clarify a few things, but adds, "I guarantee his plan is not to deport everyone. If you're good, there will be a path to citizenship."

Walker adds, "He's not a polished politician and I hope he doesn't become one."

For now, he's stopping short of pledging his vote to Trump -- he's got an eye on Ben Carson, too -- but he's buying in to Donald's slogan, "Make America Great Again."

Snoop Dogg has a clear path to go back to USC -- the team he's cheered for all his life -- because a former Trojan superstar is ready to forgive and forget the whole UCLA mess with Snoop's son.

Linebacker Keith Rivers says he understands why Snoop had to root for the blue and gold when Cordell Broadus committed to the Bruins, but now that he's quit ... he says it's time for the Dogg to come home.

Rivers -- a 1st round draft pick with the Bengals in 2008 -- says there is a family exception in the heated rivalry. He says, "Snoop HAD to dump out his USC gear and jump on the bandwagon to support his son. All the Instagrams & stuff like that was out of support, you’re supposed to do that for your kid."

So, come September at the Coliseum -- "I think everyone should and will accept him back into the family.”

Glory Johnson's reaction to Brittney Griner's annulment filing getting shot down is ... the judge did what's right and fair -- and she says Brittney can't run from their marriage.

The pregnant Tulsa Shock player tells TMZ Sports ... "I am thankful the annulment was rejected because an act of marriage did occur." As we reported ... an Arizona judge just rejected Griner's request to annul their marriage.

Glory adds, "Together we made life changing decisions which impacted our lives collectively, and we both should be held responsible for those decisions."

Translation: I'm having twins, we're still married, and YOU are the breadwinner for this family.

Michael Sam is worried about his mental state ... so he's leaving football -- again -- one week after he became the first openly gay player in a professional game.

Brittney Griner's attempt to annul her marriage was shot down in an Arizona court.

WNBA superstar Griner had filed for the annulment back in June ... right after fellow hoopster and wife, Glory Johnson, announced she was pregnant with twins. An AZ judge rejected the annulment case on Thursday.

It's unclear where that leaves the unhappy couple -- presumably headed for divorce court.

It's been an insane year for Griner and Johnson -- they both got arrested for domestic violence in April, got married May 8th ... and 28 days later, Griner filed for annulment.

According to People, which first reported the failed annulment ... Johnson is now living in Tennessee near her family. Griner is still in AZ, playing for the Phoenix Mercury.

Sorry, Kanye West ... but you can't hold a candle to Michael Jordan in the shoe department -- not for Browns wide receiver Andrew Hawkins, anyway.

TMZ Sports talked to Hawk about the fire sale he just announced -- he's unloading his whole collection -- 11 pairs -- of Yeezys. He says their total value is about $60k!

But Andrew says some things are priceless ... like his Air Jordan 11s. While he's happy to make a deal with anyone on the Yeezys, he tells us there will be NO sale on his 18 pairs of Jordans.

The Browns star admits he's got a bit of a shoe addiction, but at 29 he's trying to be a grown up -- which is why he's clearing out his closet. Partially.

-- MTV Video Music Awards $4,000

-- Heat vs. Hawks $11,000

-- Lakers vs. Rockets $11,100

-- Clippers vs. Rockets $11,300

And this is sad ... NCAA Women's Basketball Final Four -- a measly $500.

The suit claims Wayne got the tickets between February 2013 and June 2015.

The suit names Young Money and Wayne's manager, Cortez Bryant, but not the rapper himself.

We reached out to Wayne. So far no word back.

The sources tell TMZ, she has had NO contact with Lamar for weeks and in fact changed her number a few weeks back and never gave him the digits.

TMZ broke the story ... Kardashian sources and eyewitnesses at SoulCycle Wednesday claim Lamar surprised Khloe on her way in at 6:45 AM, began shouting at her and put his hands on her shoulder before she told him to get away. Khloe jumped in her car and beat it.

Lamar told TMZ he and Khloe had communicated before the meeting and said it was absolutely not an ambush. But our sources say in no way did she invite him there and she had no idea he would be there.

We're told Khloe does not feel physically threatened, but says she's concerned for Lamar's well being.
