Shaquille O'Neal is about to learn how Grant Hill's opinion tastes ... 'cause the ex-NBA star and new part owner of the Hawks just called out Shaq's signature bball shoe ... as the ugliest of all time.

Grant was out at LAX looking sharp when our camera guy asked him which shoe was the most dreadfully ugly pair of stompers ever to grace an NBA court.

Check out the clip -- Hill bypasses all the usual suspects (we're looking at you Kobe II's) and hits The Diesel right where it hurts, saying his kicks take the cake when it comes to fugly footwear.

Ugly? Maybe. Size 22? Definitely. Tread lightly Grant.

Despite the fact he's been charged with domestic violence and false imprisonment, ex-NFL star Ray McDonald is still "in great spirits" and confident he'll be exonerated, so says his mom.

We spoke with Labrina McDonald ... who tells us Ray is still working out and staying in shape -- but understands he'll likely never play another down in the NFL.

"We're healing," Labrina says ... "Ray's in great spirits considering he has lost his career. His dream turned into a nightmare."

As we previously reported, Ray is accused of attacking his ex-fiancee while she was holding their 2-month-old child back in May. Labrina says Ray's driver witnessed the whole thing and insists McDonald is innocent.

"Ray hasn't been found guilty in court, but he's guilty by public perception. I just wish the teams would've looked at the actual facts before firing him. But we're not bitter."

We have a winner for BIGGEST Comic-Con nerd -- it's gotta be Dwight Howard ... who's roaming San Diego as "Predator."

Yeah, unless there's a 7-footer dressed as the Alien (which would be awesome) ... we're guessing 6'11" Dwight is king of the hill for cosplay fans this weekend.

Talk about bringing the house down -- the Swifties soaked up the patriotic moment as Alex Morgan loaned the World Cup trophy to Taylor ... just for a few seconds.

DeAndre Jordan shouldn't take Chandler Parson's insults seriously -- he's just "butthurt" that he couldn't convince him to stay with the Mavs ... so says NBA star Tyson Chandler.

Tyson's definitely the right guy to ask about the Jordan drama -- not only is he the guy Jordan was supposed to replace in Dallas ... but he's also pretty tight with Mark Cuban and Chandler Parsons.

Chandler was pretty candid about the whole situation ... saying the way things went down were "a little iffy" ... but says at the end of the day, "Every man has his own right to make his own decision."

As for Dallas Mavs star Chandler Parsons -- he's been ripping DeAndre in the media ... saying D.J. went back to the Clippers because he's too "scared" to be a franchise player.

'Love And Hip Hop' star Nikki Mudarris obviously wants to rebound with the experts ... 'cause just days after an epic blow up with her rapper ex-bf, Mally Mall ... she hit the town with an NBA Champ.

Nikki was out at Mastro's -- a fancy Bev Hills steakhouse -- with Austin Daye ... a dude that was just waived by the Atlanta Hawks, but who snagged a championship ring with the Spurs back in 2014.

Florida State running back Dalvin Cook has turned himself in to police ... after the 20-year-old was accused of punching a woman in the face outside of a Tallahassee bar.

According to the Leon County Sheriff's Office -- Cook surrendered early Saturday morning ... hours after a warrant was issued for his arrest.

For his part, Cook has denied the allegation.

As we previously reported, Cook -- who was projected to be one of the top RBs in the nation next season -- was charged with misdemeanor battery for allegedly socking a 21-year-old woman in the face on June 23.

More alleged man vs. woman violence surrounding the Florida State football team -- this time, the starting running back is under investigation for allegedly punching a 21-year female in the face.

Officials say cops are investigating 19-year-old Dalvin Cook over a June 23 incident -- in which a woman was attacked outside of a Tallahassee bar.

Cops say the alleged victim was drunk -- and only suffered minor cuts and bruises -- but was able to I.D. Cook as her assailant. She plans to press charges.

The woman told ESPN Cook became enraged when he asked for her phone number and she shot him down. During the altercation, Cook's group allegedly told the woman they were football players and they could "buy her" in two years.

State Attorney Willie Meggs says Cook has not been charged with a crime so far ... but plans to issue a warrant for Cook's arrest on suspicion of misdemeanor battery.

Meggs has his hands full with FSU football players -- including ex-QB De'Andre Johnson who punched a woman in the face at a bar ... after she struck him in the face first.

Allegedly beating up your girlfriend nets you the same suspension as allegedly deflating footballs ... that's the message the NFL is sending after they reduced the suspension of Dallas Cowboy Greg Hardy to just four games.

Hardy was initially suspended for 10 games back in April, after the league concluded Hardy attacked his girlfriend, Nicole Holder.

Hardy was convicted of assault, but appealed the decision ... which led to a new trial. Holder refused to cooperate in the re-trial and the charges were dropped.

Seems the police have FORGIVEN Hope Solo -- 'cause they couldn't have gotten along BETTER at today's victory parade in NYC ... even after that whole cop trashing incident back in Seattle.

Hope posed with a whole bunch of NYPD officers along the parade route ... one even let the Team USA soccer star wear his hat!

It's interesting considering just last month ... two of the largest and most important police officer organizations demanded an apology from Hope for threatening to fight a cop in 2014.

As we previously reported, officials say Solo called one cop a "bitch" and told another she would "kick your ass" during her '14 domestic violence arrest.

She also told one officer her necklace was worth more than he made in a year.

But she won the World Cup ... so ... friends again?!
