Ex-NBA star Gilbert Arenas took a cinder block and smashed the hell out of a Mercedes that his longtime GF Laura Govan had been driving ... and he claims the whole thing was revenge for Laura ruining his Netflix account.

Sources connected to the situation tell us the incident went down in 2014 ... when Arenas was so upset, he decided to take his anger out on the luxury vehicle in the driveway of his home.

Gilbert says he has a perfectly good explanation -- claiming Laura had thrown his computer in his pool and smashed 34 windows at his Calabasas home.

Gilbert says, "I don't remember my #Netflix password it was auto saved, you piece of sh*t. u take a person #Netflix away,nothing else matters."

Gotta respect when a politician is honest ... like when Jeb Bush admitted to us he didn't know about the MLB hacking scandal yesterday because as he put it: "Man, I'm running for president. I've been busy!"

The former Gov. was leaving NBC in New York when we asked about the FBI investigation into the St. Louis Cardinals for allegedly hacking the Houston Astros to steal top secret information.

Bush has a serious MLB connection, considering his brother George W. was a co-owner of the Texas Rangers.

Some scumbag burglars just hit the home of a former Texas A&M football -- stealing several guns -- and he may have been targeted BECAUSE he's a contestant on "Big Brother."

As we previously reported, ex-Aggies defensive back Clay Honeycutt will be a houseguest this season -- and is already in sequester, cut off from the outside world, as the show requires.

But after he left this past weekend, burglars struck his home in College Station, TX ... stealing all sorts of Honeycutt's belongings ... this according to the Brazos County Sheriffs Office.

Among the items reported stolen:

-- A 70" TV
-- A black Kindle Fire
-- An iPad
-- An Apple laptop
-- Three handguns (a 9mm, a .22 and a .45)
-- A leather jewelry box

The estimated value of the stolen goods: $4,510.

We're told Honeycutt's family believes the jewelry box may have held a ring from his A&M playing days, but they aren't sure and they've been unable to contact him ... per the show's strict rules.

Family members tell us they believe the timing is no accident ... insisting the burglars waited until Clay left for the show to strike his home.

R.I.P. Johnny Manziel's money celebration ... 'cause the QB says it's officially DEAD TO HIM.

Manziel was speaking to reporters in Cleveland earlier today and said he was officially retiring his trademark move ... saying it's part of a brand new quieter, less trouble-making Manziel.

"Whatever I can do to help quiet the noise that has surrounded this team and surrounded myself, I don’t want that anymore."

And after calling his rookie season a "disaster" ... Johnny added, "The money sign will not be back."

International soccer superstar Mesut Ozil is conquering the U.S. ... at least in the Hollywood club scene ... where he's been MOBBED by fans and paparazzi all week long.

The 26-year-old Arsenal star -- who won the World Cup with Germany last year -- got the rock star treatment at Bootsy Bellow's nightclub on the Sunset Strip.

We asked what he thought of the U.S. Women's soccer team -- and it sounded like he told us, "They look real good."

While Ozil left the club solo last night, he had more than his share of ladies on Sunday night ... when he left Henry's with TWO hot blondes.

Dez Bryant says he's sick and tired of people calling him "selfish" for holding out of Dallas Cowboys training camp -- saying he just wants to be paid fairly and he's been quiet for too long.

Long story short ... Bryant and the Cowboys are in a heated contract dispute -- with Dez needing to strike a long-term deal by July 15th or else he'll be locked into the league-mandated franchise tag salary for the season ... which is roughly $13 million.

Dez has remained silent on the issue ... until now ... when he went to Twitter and wrote, "Everybody voicing opinions..13 mil is cool but Where is my security? I'll wait ...5 years without complaining..So how am I selfish? #family1"

Translation -- $13 million for one season is nice, but what if he gets hurt? The 1-year deal doesn't protect his financial future.

Another interesting point ... "5 years without complaining" -- it seems like Dez is implying that he's been a good, quiet soldier and the team should have come to him first with a shiny new contract.

For now, Dez's strategy is to hold out until the team breaks down and offers a new deal.

Question is ... will his strategy pay off?

Weezy was performing at Heat Ultra Lounge in Orange County, CA Tuesday night when he started talkin' basketball ... while smokin' on (what appears to be) a fat blunt.

Weezy's from New Orleans ... but has said he's been a die-hard Lakers fan ever since Kobe joined the squad. The two have become pretty tight over the years.

Might be a good time for to be a rich Lakers fan, 'cause with Jack Nicholson's enthusiasm for the team fading ... there might be some good courtside seats available next season.

He's 6'5", 230 pounds, and has a laser rocket arm ... and now Peyton Manning has proved -- he can also conduct an orchestra like a champ!!!

Manning and a bunch of his Denver Broncos teammates grabbed their batons and took over the Taste of the Broncos event at Mile High last night ... hookin' up with the Colorado Symphony to raise money for the Food Bank of the Rockies.

Peyton conducted the orchestra through a version of "Rocky Top" -- a tribute to the University of Tennessee.

Overall, not a bad job ... but let's face it -- he's no Shaq.

MC Hammer had one helluva night ... not only did he fly into Cleveland on a sick private jet, but the proud Oaklandian partied with the Golden State Warriors moments after they won the NBA championship!

For the record, Hammer is one of the team's BIGGEST fans ... he's basically Golden State's Jack Nicholson.

So, when the team clinched last night, Hammer was right there with Steph Curry, Draymond Green and the rest of the crew to celebrate the team's first title in 40 years.

Haven't seen Hammer this excited since that "Pumps and a Bump" video ...

The Oakland PD tells TMZ Sports there were two arrests and eight citations, for various violations. There were no reported incidents of vandalism to businesses.

It was CHAOS in Oakland Tuesday night ... with Golden State Warriors fans brawling in the streets -- and one fan INSANELY jumping off a street sign ... and it was all caught on video.

No word why the crowd started fighting ... or if anyone was arrested ... but it was pretty violent, as you can see in footage captured by Todd Johnson of the SFBusinessTimes.

Todd also rolled as some CRAZY fan scaled a street sign ... and then LEAPED OFF ... into the arms of waiting Warriors fans who, thankfully, caught him.

The man appeared to be okay and continued to rage in the streets.

LeBron James was too damn ball hoggish during the NBA Finals -- and needed to share the rock with his teammates -- so says Metta World Peace.

The former NBA champ was out in Hollywood Tuesday night when we asked how he felt about the Golden State Warriors winning the whole thing in Cleveland.

Metta made it clear he thinks LeBron is amazing ... but says, "I wish that early in the series that he would've passed to his teammates and you know ... got them in a rhythm."

"I think he could've played better with his team."

Dale Earnhardt Jr. is taking the ultimate checkered flag ... he's getting married!

NASCAR's most popular driver proposed to longtime girlfriend Amy Reimann while vacationing Wednesday in Germany. Reimann posted a pic -- naturally flashing her engagement rock -- in a Lutheran church Dale says his family attended 300 years ago.

Reimann and Earnhardt have been dating since 2009 ... and you gotta figure she knew the question was coming sooner than later. Dale gave her a shout out in a commercial he shot last year.

You don't mention a run-of-the-mill GF in an ad you know will air constantly during NASCAR races.

One of the RAREST prizes in all of pro sports is about to be up for grabs -- the 1978 Triple Crown trophy ... and it could be yours if you've got a MILLION DOLLARS to spend.

The silver trophy -- which has been made by Cartier since 1950 -- was awarded to "Affirmed" in 1978 ... the last horse to win the prize before "American Pharoah" clinched it earlier this month.

We spoke with famed sports collector Timothy Robins who tells TMZ Sports he bought the trophy from the family of Affirmed's trainer last year -- but now, Tim has decided it's time to part ways with the legendary piece.

Robins has put the Trophy up for sale on Championship-Rings.net -- he's asking for a cool $1 MILLION!

Good news for the new owner -- we're told the trophy is currently in Switzerland where it's getting a thorough cleaning before it moves on to the next phase of its life.

Govan was out in grabbing lunch in Beverly Hills when we asked the former "Basketball Wives LA" star how she's doing after the nasty split -- and nasty engagement ring battle -- with Agent Zero.

The next "Big Brother" HoH could be a guy from A&M ... 'cause one of the contestants is a former Aggies football player -- who also happens to have a pretty insane physique.

The ex-football player is 23-year-old Clay Honeycutt -- a former defensive back for Texas A&M who graduated in 2014.

We spoke with Clay's dad Lynn -- who also played for the Aggies -- and he told us he thinks Clay's football background will give him an edge on the competition.

"There's a wide diversity of people in the cast and football will help him because he has always gotten along with different groups of people. He's had all kinds of different roommates, so I think that will help him."

One of those people was Johnny Manziel ... who played at A&M from 2011 to 2013.

TMZ Sports has obtained the 911 call made by Dusty Rhodes' wife moments after the wrestling legend collapsed at his Florida home ... and the 911 operator sounds inconvenienced by the whole ordeal.

The call was made on June 10th at 5:56 AM -- you can hear Dusty's wife say, "I need help. My husband has fallen. He's very sick. I need help."

The operator snipes back, "They're coming as fast as they can. Me talking to you is not stopping them."

Dusty's wife thanks the 911 operator and gets off the phone ... and that's when you hear the operator breathe a giant exasperated sigh.

Eventually, help arrived ... and Dusty was transported to a nearby hospital where he passed away the next day.

Rhodes was 69.
