Ex-Nebraska defensive end Randy Gregory is angry, distraught and "extremely disappointed" after not being selected in the 1st round of the NFL Draft ... TMZ Sports has learned.

Multiple sources close to Gregory tell us Randy was POSITIVE he'd be selected on the 1st day of the draft -- which is why he agreed to go to Chicago and attend the draft in person in the first place.

Of course, there was buzz his draft stock had fallen ever since he tested positive for weed at the NFL combine. Before the combine, some experts said he could have been the #1 overall pick.

So, when the first 32 picks went by last night ... and his name wasn't called ... we're told Randy took it especially hard.

"Randy is extremely disappointed. We thought he'd drop, no one predicted he'd be out of the first round," one source tells us.

Another source close to Gregory says, "Randy is a little distraught over last night and didn't even imagine this happening, but he's keeping his faith."

The good news for Randy ... our sources say the draft slide is only motivating him to work harder.

Hours after Trae Waynes was taken as the 11th overall pick in the NFL Draft ... the newest member of the Minnesota Vikings partied from the windowwwwwww to the wall -- with Lil Jon!!

The former Michigan State cornerback hit up Studio Paris in Chicago for a post-draft party ... where he rocked the purple and gold to celebrate the fact that he just became a friggin' MILLIONAIRE!

Before UFC stud Paige VanZant mopped the floor with the competition ... she mopped the floor with actual mops -- for her role in a cheesy TV commercial.

TMZ Sports spoke with the undefeated UFC phenom ... who revealed she was a child actor back in the day -- and actually scored a lead role for a Bissell steam mop ad.

By the way, Paige says she'd love to do even MORE commercials in the future -- so we had to ask, are you worried about damaging your face in the Octagon? Her answer is awesome.

Didn't take long for Jameis Winston to make his first NFL mistake -- deleting his crab leg celebration pic from Instagram hours after he posted it .... and we're guessing he was INSTRUCTED to get rid of it.

In case you didn't see it, Jameis posted a pic showing him eating a big ol' plate of crab legs -- clearly mocking his whole shoplifting arrest thing from last year.

But just like that, it was gone.

BTW -- the timing of the pic is interesting since the NCAA has relaunched an investigation into the incident ... since Winston claims he had a "hook up" at Publix that gave him free food.

They might hate each other this week, but Manny Pacquiao says he hopes to have a real FRIENDSHIP with Floyd Mayweather ... after they beat the hell out of each other in the ring.

Manny just appeared on "TMZ Hollywood Sports" -- where he also told us that reports he paid more than $3 MILLION for tickets for his friends and family is 100% true.

It's crab leg time in Tampa Bay ... the Bucs have just selected Jameis Winston with the #1 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.

The Bucs reportedly launched a serious recon mission into Jameis' personal life to find out if Winston was worth the risk. Clearly, they weren't concerned with what they found.

Seems Aaron Rodgers is still bitter about the NFL Draft ... calling it a "train wreck of 'expert' analysis and awkward hugs."

So, why would the Super Bowl champion QB be so salty on the league's biggest offseason moment?

It probably stems from the 2005 draft ... when some experts projected Rodgers to be the #1 overall pick ... but instead, he tumbled all the way down to #24.

Bad news for Suge Knight ... Floyd Mayweather will NOT be posting his $10 million bail if he wins his fight this weekend ... this according to a key member of Floyd's Money Team.

TMZ Sports just got off the phone with one of Floyd's most trusted members of his TMT crew -- who tells us Suge's lawyer was just plain wrong when he told media outlets there was a plan in place for Floyd to fork over the money.

We're told Floyd and Suge were close in the past -- but they haven't been in contact in several years.

Suge is currently locked up in L.A. on murder charges -- and his attorney Matthew Fletcher reportedly said Knight was counting on Floyd to cover his bail.

Jameis Winston is going to look like a million bucks when he makes his first million bucks ... 'cause TMZ Sports has a sneak peek of Winston's draft day suit ... and it's pretty freakin' fly.

Winston -- the projected #1 pick -- is going to strut around his Alabama draft party in a custom suit made by L.A. based clothing company elevee.

We spoke to Percy Knox, elevee honcho, who tells TMZ Sports ... Jameis called the plays when it came to his suit ... designing the color scheme around the yellow Nike kicks he plans to rock tonight.

"He saw a picture [of a suit he liked] and said, 'that's the one.' Jameis really liked the style and we added the fabric." ... Super 130 ... an ultra-fine wool.

Knox tells us ... after Winston was measured, the bespoke suit didn't take long to create ... "We did it in less than a day."

Jameis isn't the only probable 1st rounder that'll be rockin' elevee's bespoke suits ... the company also designed suits for Vic Beasley, Kevin White, and Trae Waynes.

Plaxico Burress says he did NOT intentionally try to screw the government out of a $48,000 tax bill -- claiming the whole thing is a miscommunication -- and he DOESN'T belong in prison.

Plax was indicted on 2 counts of failing to pay taxes -- and faces up to 10 years in prison under New Jersey law.

But a rep for the ex-NFL star tells TMZ Sports ... Plax has a perfectly good explanation -- and says, "Prosecutors are clearly trying to take advantage of a guy who's been in the news negatively and trying to make an example out of him."

Long story short ... when Plax filed his 2013 tax bill electronically, he noticed the IRS had taken funds out of his bank account.

Plax thought the transaction meant his debt was satisfied -- not realizing the IRS only takes federal taxes. He still owed on state taxes.

Now that he realizes the issue, Plax's rep says Burress has hired a new tax attorney and is "cooperating fully" with state officials to pay his debt and clear his name.

Burress' rep says Plaxico also had issues with his accountant -- and has since fired the firm ... adding, "They did a terrible job."

More trouble for ex-NFL star Plaxico Burress -- he's been indicted in New Jersey for allegedly failing to pay close to $50,000 in state taxes ... and he could face serious prison time.

Prosecutors say Burress initially tried to file his state income return for 2013 back in October -- showing he owed $48,000 -- but the electronic funds transfer failed.

Officials say they notified Burress and the person who did Plax's taxes multiple times -- but they never remedied the situation.

So, Plax was charged with 1 count of willful failure to pay a state tax and 1 count of issuing a bad check or electronic funds transfer -- crimes that are punishable by up to 5 years in prison each.

Plax is no stranger to the law -- he did two years on a weapons charge after shooting himself in the leg in a Manhattan nightclub in 2008.
