NBA star JaVale McGee says size definitely matters when trying to cop some Yeezys ... telling TMZ Sports he can't style in the hottest shoe of 2015 ... because Kanye doesn't make a SIZE 18!!

The 7-footer was enjoying the beginning of the All-Star break at 1Oak in L.A. when we asked the notorious sneakerhead when we'd see him in the most talked about shoe in the world right now.

The answer? NEVER ... or at least until Mr. West and Adidas makes them in sizes that accommodate JaVale's gargantuan hooves ... which McGee says would cost A TON of cash for the material alone!

It wasn't just a hilarious sketch ... Shaq tells TMZ Sports his famous "Big Bernard" sketch with Tracy Morgan is one of the top 5 sketches in "Saturday Night Live" history."

It's definitely one of the funniest moments in the history of the show ... Shaq played Tracy's son "Bernard during the 1998 sketch ... which featured a father trying to discipline his enormous 7-foot son.

Hockey superstar Alex Ovechkin says when it comes to Vladimir Putin, a lot of people have the wrong idea -- because the President of Russia is really a "nice guy."

The Russian-born Washington Capitals superstar was hanging out in L.A. yesterday when we asked if Putin's as intimidating in person as he appears on TV.

A brawl erupted between a group of guys who picked a fight with Rick Ross and Meek Mill at a club Friday night ... so claim eyewitnesses who say the rappers got physical during the "All Star" weekend scuffle.

The eyewitnesses say Ross and Mill were in the same section at NYC's Liberty Theatre when someone threw a drink and the scuffle erupts.

We're told Meek threw a few punches and Rick seemed to confine his activity to pushing. On the other hand, we're told Rick's bodyguards took care of business.

Ross was hosting the party and in the video you see Rozay standing near the fight.

The party was also attended by Oklahoma City Thunder player Dion Waiters.

Cops were not called.

A frightening moment for Oakland Raiders lineman Donald Penn -- who fought off a home intruder who kicked in his front door and threatened his family earlier this month ... TMZ Sports has learned.

According to court docs obtained by TMZ Sports, Penn -- who's 6'4", 340 lbs. and a former Pro Bowler -- was at his L.A. home with his wife and kids when a large man hopped over his security gate, busted in his front door and began going crazy inside the home.

That's when Penn -- who was with his wife and 2 young children at the time -- sprung into action ... physically restraining the man (who's 6'1", 220 lbs.) ... until cops showed up.

Sources tell us ... Penn is adamant he has no connection to the man -- and doesn't know why he was targeted.

Penn eventually filed for a restraining order against the guy, which was granted -- and now the suspect has been ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from Penn and his family.

It was like a surgical strike ... LeBron James dropped in to the set of a car commercial in the middle of a busy NYC street -- NAILED his part -- and peaced out like a pro ... and TMZ Sports got the whole thing on video.

When 'Bron got to the set of the Kia spot, the car was already set up ... the crew was ready to go ... and James knew his part.

Two takes later, the director was happy ... LeBron bolted from the set ... and was off to the next big NBA All-Star Weekend event.

Carmelo Anthony just bragged about getting a police escort through the streets of New York City -- there's just one problem ... the NYPD tells us it's against PD policy to give police escorts to celebrities for no good reason.

The NY Knicks star just posted footage shot from inside of a car ... which is following a police vehicle that is driving against traffic on the opposite side of the street with sirens and lights blaring.

You can hear Anthony saying, "Ain't nothing like a police escort in all this traffic."

We spoke with a NYPD spokesperson who tells us ... "As a policy, we do not give police escorts through traffic for celebrities."

It's possible Carmelo's car was following the cop car without the officer's awareness or approval -- but it seems unlikely since Melo's car was driving against traffic on the opposite side of the street.

The NYPD spokesperson added ... "it's difficult to tell if that's an NYPD vehicle. It could be MTA, Port Authority, or any other law enforcement agency in the city."

Not like he needs it, but Floyd Mayweather just bought EVEN MORE insane jewelry ... dropping $685,000 in a fancy NYC jewelry shop ... TMZ Sports has learned.

Mayweather just walked out of Pristine Jewelers with several members of his Money Team crew.

Our sources tell us ... Mayweather bought more than a dozen pieces of jewelry for himself and his posse.

Mayweather had hit up the store Thursday and talked about his spending plans with the store owners -- before returning on Friday afternoon to purchase the goods.

It's not the first time Floyd's gone on a high-priced jewelry spree ... he spent more than $500k on a bling run back in May.

As we previously reported, Anna told police she LIED about being behind the wheel when their SUV smashed into 2 parked cars after a museum party ... to protect Lance, who was actually driving that night.

You'd think there'd be some bad blood between the two based on the fact Lance essentially let Anna take the fall -- but it appears the couple has moved on.

Cincinnati Bengals star Pacman Jones has issued an apology for his actions at an Indiana casino this week ... saying he's sorry if anyone thought he was acting inappropriately.

We broke the story ... Jones was kicked out of the Hollywood Casino and cops were called to the scene after getting a complaint that he was acting "disorderly" inside the building.

Jones -- who was NOT arrested -- denied breaking any laws ... but now, he seems to understand that his actions pissed some people off that night.

Pacman released this statement via Instagram -- "... I also realize that actions of mine which I think are innocent may be interpreted by other people as otherwise and that as a public figure I owe it to my supporters to act with the utmost of class and dignity at all times."

Now for the apology ... "If for whatever reason anyone at the casino on Tuesday night thought my behavior to be inappropriate then I apologies [sic] as I only want people to see me as a great and humble father, husband, person and Bengal."

Starting the All-Star game is now second on the list of things James Harden could be doing this weekend ... 'cause Amber Rose just told the world she might give him the best V-Day gift ever ... dat ass.

The outspokenly religious Seattle Seahawks QB has been under attack on social media Friday morning ... ever since he revealed that he went to a screening of the sexually charged S&M flick on Thursday.

Some of the comments directed at Wilson were harsh:

-- "Really? I'm honestly not sure how you can quote bible verses all the time and then say this is a good movie..."
-- "Don't say you represent Christ, and the publicly endorse a moved filled with immorality and sexual violence."
-- "COME ON MAN!!! THAT MOVIE IS MORAL FILTH!!!"

Well, Russell heard the critics loud and clear ... and decided to respond with the following statement:

"Saw a movie filmed in the town I call home. Provocative/disturbing no doubt but that does not make me less Faithful. Have a blessed day!"

Then, Wilson doubled down ... saying his favorite movie of all time is "Scarface" ... the cocaine-centric gangster classic.
