It wasn't just about pride, Chris Evans' big superhero Super Bowl bet with Chris Pratt helped raise more than $11k for Evans' charity ... TMZ Sports has learmed.

You already know the bet ... Star-Lord and Captain America agreed to visit the other actor's charity IN COSTUME if their team lost the big game.

In the end, both stars decided to visit both charities ... but Evans' organization, Christopher's Haven, tells us they got an unexpected boost from fans looking to pitch in as well.

Joyce Duvall, executive director of Christopher's Haven -- which helps provide housing for families with children fighting pediatric cancer -- tells us the org. received just over $11k from fans.

"The coolest thing about something like this is that all the kids win ... no matter what happened in the football game," Duvall says.

Actually, the coolest thing might be when the actors show up IN COSTUME ... but yeah, the fundraising's cool too.

Mark Wahlberg celebrated the Super Bowl in the most awesome way with a fellow Patriots fan and even gave him the shirt ... almost off his back! It was a tremendous day for Bostonians -- but a not-so-great one for “The Ruiner."

Yep, he struck again ... on the biggest stage possible.

Warren Sapp has just been released from custody without bail ... and is allowed to leave the state and go back home to Florida after a judge decided he's not a flight risk.

Sapp just appeared before a judge in Maricopa County, AZ to face charges of soliciting a prostitute and assault.

During the hearing the judge says there was proper cause for his arrest -- but decided to let him go on his own recognizance because he has no record of failing to appear in other court cases.

The judge told Sapp he is forbidden from contacting the victims and may not return to the scene of the alleged crime -- but he did get the green light to leave the state and go home.

2:15 PM PT -- The NFL Network has fired Sapp. He'd been with the network since 2008.

12:55 PM PT -- New details in the Warren Sapp arrest ...

Cops say two women told police they were at the hotel "as escorts" and went to Sapp's room, where an argument broke out over money.

The women claim the argument turned physical and spilled out into the hallway.

Cops say the women had injuries consistent with a struggle.

Officials say when cops questioned Sapp,"he was questioned and admitted involvement in the act of prostitution, but denied assaulting the females."

Both women involved in the incident received citations from police -- one for prostitution, the other for a violation of the City’s escort permit requirements. Both women were released.

12:49 PM PT -- Sapp has been SUSPENDED INDEFINITELY from the NFL Network without pay pending the outcome of the investigation ... so says NFL Network spokesman Alex Riethmiller.

12:47 PM PT -- Phoenix Police Chief Joseph Yahner says there are TWO female victims ... who both allegedly suffered minor injuries.

Yahner says the women contacted police officers to report the assault.

12:21 PM PT -- The NFL Network has removed Sapp's bio from the official "On-Air Talent" section of the website.

No word if Sapp has been fired from the Network yet ... but as one source puts it, "It's not looking good."

12:06 PM PT -- A rep for the hotel where Warren was arrested tells TMZ Sports, "we were contacted by the Phoenix Police Dept. today in a matter involving a guest."

"We are cooperating with police as they look into the situation since it is an active investigation. We have no further comment."

Warren Sapp was arrested in Phoenix this morning for soliciting a prostitute around 7AM ... TMZ Sports has learned.

Sapp was also arrested for assault. We're told Sapp was taken into custody at a hotel in Downtown Phoenix.

The 42-year-old "Dancing with the Stars" alum was booked just a few minutes ago.

Sapp was in Phoenix covering the Super Bowl for the NFL Network.

It's not Warren's first arrest -- he was busted in 2010 for domestic battery, but those charges were eventually dropped. He was also arrested for an alleged domestic battery in Miami in 2014.

As we previously reported, officials made it clear before the Super Bowl they would be cracking down on prostitution.

Story developing ...

Talk about kicking a man when he's down -- ex-NFL star Jeremy Shockey just threw some major salt in Warren Sapp's wound ... three years after Sapp called Shockey a "snitch" on TV.

Here's the backstory ... back in 2012, Sapp went on the NFL Network and said he had a "source" that told him Shockey was the "snitch" who ratted out the New Orleans Saints Bountygate scandal to the NFL.

Shockey denied the allegations -- and was furious that Sapp made the allegation.

Clearly, he's been holding a grudge and moments ago went on social media and posted the following note:

"Just heard from my SOURCE Warren Sapp charged with soliciting a prostitute! Damn so sad."

Yeah, clearly he's upset about it.

Both men got wild at the Super Bowl after-party at the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort & Spa ... and TMZ Sports has the incredible footage.

Gronk was on stage with Flo Rida ... twerking, droppin' it low and jumping all over the stage ... with a bottle of Patron in his hand.

At one point, he passed the bottle to someone in the crowd who took a swig and passed it back!!!

But a short time later, Bob Kraft got on stage with Ross ... who called out the Pats owner to bust a move in front of the everyone ... and Kraft came STRONG!!!!!

Meanwhile, the only dancing Pete Carroll was doing that night was when he was trying to explain that terrible call at the end of the game.

Malcolm Butler isn't just a Super Bowl hero, he's also one helluva success story -- so says his former college coach who tells TMZ Sports he couldn't be more proud of the guy.

We spoke with University of West Alabama head coach Brett Gilliland who says he was watching the game with the entire coaching staff when Malcolm made the game-winning interception.

"As soon as he made his break on the interception, we started to scream. We went crazy. It was chaotic!"

But last night wasn't the first time Malcolm overcame the odds, according to Coach Gilliland.

"Malcolm's got a great story. He was dealt some bad hands in life. There was a time when he wasn't on the right path. He got his life back on track ... then last night happened."

If you didn't know, Malcolm was kicked off his community college football team before he went to UWA ... and took a job at Popeye's to make ends meet.

But he was a "perfect angel" at UWA, coach says ... and he's happy the Patriots decided to take a chance on him as an undrafted free agent.

"He just needed a shot, and the Pats were the only team that'd give him it. Credit to them. They believed in him, and he repaid them."

Coach says he hasn't spoken with Malcolm yet ... but has a message for the guy:

Johnny Manziel has checked into a treatment center ... this according to multiple members of Manziel's camp.

A rep for the Cleveland Browns issued a statement saying, "Brad Beckworth, friend and advisor to Manziel and his family, has confirmed that Johnny entered treatment on Wednesday."

"Johnny knows there are areas in which he needs to improve in order to be a better family member, friend and teammate and he thought the off-season was the right time to take this step."

"On behalf of Johnny and his family, we’re asking for..privacy until he rejoins the team in Cleveland."

The Browns did not say exactly why Manziel is being treated -- but it seems pretty obvious ... considering his penchant for partying.

Earlier this season, ESPN's Skip Bayless said he'd spoken with several people close to the Browns QB and was convinced Johnny is an alcoholic.

Johnny responded to the criticism by hitting the bar scene -- and after the season, was seen chugging champagne at a hotel pool.

Perry had the roman numerals XLIX tatted on her finger ... to remind herself of the night she was upstaged by her special guest performer Missy Elliot.

They had made a wager on the game ... Evans lost, he'd have to show up to a Seattle children's hospital dressed up as Captain America.

If Pratt lost, Star-Lord has to show up at Evans' non-profit housing venture "Christopher's Haven."

Well, good news for both sides ... because after the game Pratt tweeted, "Congrats to the world champions @patriots you were the better team tonight. I will be visiting @chris_haven as Starlord."

And Evans ... you don't think Captain America's gonna leave a children's hospital hangin' do ya?

"Thank you to @prattprattpratt for being a good sport. I'll be there with you at @chris_haven, and don't worry @seattlechildren, we'll be coming there too!"

The gambling website that hosted the Katy Perry Super Bowl halftime boobs bet says the debate is raging in their office ... so they're just gonna pay EVERYONE!!

We broke the story ... BetOnline.ag hosted the bet and gave the following odds:

"Yes" is -500
"No" is +350

Translation -- if you bet "no," $100 gets you $350. If you bet "yes," you need to wager $500 to earn a measly $100.

So, when Katy dropped the flame outfit and switched to the chestier beachy look, you'd think it would be a victory for the pro-cleavage bettors.

But a rep for the gambling site says some people in the offices argued that since the boobs weren't pushed together, there was technically NO cleavage.

So, the decision was made ... the site has decided to pay BOTH SIDES of the bet.

Bottom line -- when it comes to Katy's boobs, there are no losers.
