Aaron Hernandez Pop Quiz, Juror ... You're a Patriots Fan, Aren't You?

Published | Updated

Potential jurors in the Aaron Hernandez murder trial are getting grilled about everything from drugs, tattoos, team allegiance, and even TMZ -- this according to court docs.

The third day of jury selection just wrapped in the ex-Patriots star's trial, and the jury questionnaire -- 51 questions deep -- was just released. It includes the following:

- Do you believe that Mr. Hernandez is more likely to be guilty in this case because he has tattoos?
- Are you a fan of the New England Patriots? Have you ever attended a Patriots game?
- Is there anything about [Hernandez playing for the Patriots] that would impair your ability to be fair and impartial?

There are a bunch more questions addressing potential jurors' feelings about Hernandez being "Hispanic" -- and also their opinions about smoking marijuana ... and firearms.

Also interesting ... a question about where they've learned info about the case. Dozens of TV shows, channels, magazines, newspapers and websites are listed, including TMZ -- which is relevant since we were first to post the selfie Hernandez took while holding a gun.

Hope Solo Domestic Violence Case Dismissed

Hope Solo will NOT go to trial over allegations she beat up her half-sister and nephew last summer at her home in Seattle, WA ... the case has been dismissed.

Solo had been facing two counts of fourth-degree domestic violence. The judge described the case as "impermissibly prejudiced" and "materially affected" because of the lack of cooperation by witnesses.

Solo's attorney said afterward, "If the case had been reviewed carefully at the outset, no charges would have been filed."

As TMZ Sports previously reported, the soccer star was arrested last June after allegedly beating up her half-sister and 17 year-old nephew following an argument.

Published | Updated

J.J. Watt's most badass 7-year-old fan just got hooked up with some serious swag ... including the cleats Watt wore during one of his most dominant games this season.

Anthony Tarantelli made headlines last month when he sent HIS autographed jersey to Watt ... and bragged about being the "most feared" pass rusher in his youth football league.

Watt vowed to return the favor and came through with an awesome package, including ... a jersey, a hat, and a letter from the MVP candidate. Anthony's dad tells TMZ Sports, "He told him to stay confident in himself, and keep working hard."

But the coolest gift was the cleats J.J. wore when he sacked the Jaguars QB 3 times in one game. Watt wrote "3 sacks" on the side ... and Anthony says they still had mud on them.

Anthony's father says, "For J.J. to actually follow through and hook the kid up with the gear ... it was a pretty sweet move."

Red Sox Owner I'M NOT MAD AT JOHNNY DAMON ... 'Nothing But Respect'

Published | Updated

Boston Red Sox owner John Henry tells TMZ Sports ... he's got NO GRUDGE against Johnny Damon for leaving the team for the Yanks back in 2005 ... despite Johnny suggesting there was lingering beef between the two.

As we previously reported, Damon told Donald Trump he didn't hit up Henry for a donation during a fundraising task on this week's "Celebrity Apprentice" because they weren't exactly on speaking terms after the whole contract situation from '05.

But Henry tells us he has absolutely NO ill will toward Damon -- saying, "I have nothing but respect personally for Johnny."

Henry continued, "He accomplished a great deal in Boston and will always be welcome at Fenway."

So, seems Trump was right ... maybe Johnny shoulda hit Henry up for a donation after all.

First they carved up Oregon ... then they cut a rug.

The Ohio State Buckeyes football team was still so fired up after beating the Ducks in the National Championship game last night, they threw a locker room dance party ... and everyone got down.

Among the dancers, assistant defensive line coach Vince Oghobaase -- who busted out "The Whip."

FYI -- Vince is the same guy who busted out the moves when OSU beat up on Alabama in the Sugar Bowl a few weeks ago.

To the victors ...

Johnny Damon I'm Not On Speaking Terms with Red Sox Owner

Published | Updated

It's been nearly a decade since the break-up, but it seems like still some bad blood between Johnny Damon and Boston Red Sox owner John Henry ... with Johnny saying they're still not on speaking terms.

Damon shed some light on the situation on last night's "Celebrity Apprentice" -- when Donald Trump asked why Damon didn't try to ask Henry for money during a fundraising competition.

Long story short ... Damon says he's not sure they still "love" him out in Beantown and says he hasn't spoken with Henry in a while.

Then there was this exchange ...

Trump: "I think you'd be able to call John Henry. He'd give you whatever you want."
Damon: "He did not do that back in 2005. So ..."

Sad.

"[The NFL needs] to evaluate the rules and change the rules in the offseason," Sanders says.

The best part -- the photog tells Sanders he saw him make a bunch of catches like that back in the day, but the refs never called 'em back.

Deion's response ... classic.

T.O. -- along with Johnny Damon and Ian Ziering -- were called into the boardroom after losing a fundraiser in which the gang had to sell wedding dresses.

But Owens didn't go nuts when Ian called him out for raising the least amount of money -- instead, T.O. owned up to the failure and essentially called on Trump to give him the axe.

Trump obliged.

Jon Jones' Mom He Left Rehab After 1 Night

Published | Updated

UFC champ Jon Jones left rehab after one night ... this according to the fighter's mother.

Camille Jones spoke with WBNG in Binghamton, NY -- and said Jon will attend the Colts vs. Patriots game this weekend to watch his two brothers (who are on separate teams) battle it out on the field.

Camille did not explain why Jones made the decision to leave the rehab center so soon -- especially after testing positive for cocaine after his UFC 182 fight against Daniel Cormier.

His mother told WBNG she's glad he got caught in the first place.

"This stopped him in his tracks, this let him know that he may need to change some friends ... because everyone is not for you for the best," Camille said.

"Me and my husband considered [the positive test] a blessing from God that our child was able to be helped and know that he need to stop and know that he needed the assistance to stop before it came to something worse."

According to Camille, the unannounced drug test came the day after Jon was hanging with friends and "did something he shouldn't have done."

Camille says she spoke with Jon right after the positive test -- "My first question was, do you have a problem, a serious problem? And then he told me what happened. Jon is usually very honest with me, so he told me what happened. I was like, good for you ... good. You needed to be caught, it was just timing."

Jalen Rose Rick Ross Wants Out of $100k Bet ... I'll Settle For Lobster

Published | Updated

Seems Rick Ross is officially off the hook in his $100k NBA bet with Jalen Rose -- with Jalen telling TMZ Sports he's willing to let the whole thing go for some delicious lobster.

You know the bet ... Ross wanted to put up $100k that his LeBron-less Miami Heat would finish the
season with a better record than Bron's new team, the Cleveland Cavs.

Jalen publicly accepted the bet -- going on his Grantland podcast and saying, "You know I'm good for the money, homie."

But according to Jalen, Rick had a change of heart around Xmas time ... with Rose implying that Ross was less-than-impressed with the Heat ... even though they beat the Cavs on Xmas day.

So what happens now? "I think he's gonna take me to get lobster tempura at Prime One Twelve," Jalen says.

FYI -- Lobster Tempura cost around $25 (we called).

Here's the thing ... the Cavs are 19-19. The Heat are 16-21 ... the bet could still go either way.

We'll follow up with Ross and let you know his side.

Ex-NBA Star Michael Beasley Woman Sues for Rape After Cops Dropped Criminal Case

Published | Updated

Ex-NBA star Michael Beasley is being sued in Arizona by a woman who claims the 26-year-old choked her out and raped her in 2013 ... despite the fact cops already investigated the case and found no evidence of a sexual assault.

TMZ Sports has learned ... the woman filed a lawsuit in Arizona, claiming she and a friend were invited to a Scottsdale home on January 13th, 2013 where Beasley was staying with another male friend.

In the suit, the woman claims Beasley and his friend terrorized her -- "overpowered, restrained, fondled, grabbed and groped [her], stripped her clothing from her, repeatedly choked her into unconsciousness, and repeatedly sexually assaulted and raped her."

The woman claims she suffered brutal physical injuries to her genitals and her anus -- including tissue tearing and bleeding.

The woman is suing for $25 million.

Back in September, the Scottsdale PD announced that they investigated the woman's claims -- but ultimately decided not to file charges against Beasley.

"We did not establish probable cause that sexual assault happened," Sgt. Mark Clark said at the time.

So why sue? The woman is clearly banking on the fact that a civil judgment requires a lower standard of proof than a criminal conviction.

We reached out to Beasley for comment -- so far, no word back.

FYI -- Beasley was the #2 overall pick in the 2008 NBA draft ... but his career fizzled and now he's playing ball for the Shanghai Sharks out in China.

Darren Sharper ROAD TRIP!!! Officials Ordered to Bring Prisoner to New Orleans

Published | Updated

Pack your bags Darren Sharper ... 'cause you've just been ordered to go to New Orleans!!!

TMZ Sports has learned ... a district court judge has ordered the L.A. County Sheriff to "surrender the body of Darren Sharper" to the U.S. Marshall so he can be arraigned in Louisiana on drug conspiracy charges.

Sharper has been locked up in L.A. for more than 300 days ... accused of drugging and raping two women he met at a West Hollywood nightclub.

Meanwhile, in N.O., a federal grand jury charged the former NFL star with conspiracy and the illegal distribution of drugs with intent to commit rape.

A federal judge in Louisiana decided Sharper needs to be present in New Orleans for an arraignment and signed off on a writ of habeas corpus ordering the L.A. County Sheriff to hand him over on or before February 23rd.

The judge also ordered Sharper to remain in New Orleans until the conclusion of his federal case.

No word on when Sharper is expected to hit the road ... but he has another court date in L.A. scheduled for January 27th.

Stay tuned ...
