Johnny Manziel is a cautionary tale ... so says Terrell Owens who says Jameis Winston should learn from his fellow Heisman winner on what NOT to do in the NFL.
The "Celebrity Apprentice" star was out in L.A this week and told TMZ Sports he thinks Winston's got what it takes to make it at the next level ... "if he keeps his nose clean."
"He can learn a thing or two from Johnny Manziel ... not to make those mistakes," Owens said.
As for "those mistakes" ... we're guessing he probably means this, this, this ... and this.
50 Cent Broner Shouldn't Have Ripped Jay Z ... Take the Money!
50 Cent tells TMZ Sports ... boxing champ Adrian Broner MESSED UP by taking shots at Jay Z and Rihanna -- and says he should've just taken the $40 million offer from Roc Nation Sports instead.
Broner appeared on "TMZ Hollywood Sports" on Friday and said he felt the offer was disrespectful -- and then explained why he thinks Jay should "s**k and elephant d**k.
But 50 -- a pretty big boxing fan -- thinks Broner mishandled the situation big time. Check out the clip.
Steve Francis I Could Still Play In the NBA There's Nothing Wrong With Me
Steve Francis says the reports of his demise have been greatly exaggerated ... telling TMZ Sports he's not only doing perfectly OK, but he could still ball up 20-somethings in the NBA if he wanted to.
The Franchise was out in D.C. when our camera guy asked the 37-year-old if he's maintained his skills since he last played in the league back in 2008.
It's an interesting question, considering there have been widespread rumors that Francis was struggling with health issues after some unflattering pics surfaced online.
But Steve told us he's doing just fine -- "blessed" -- and explained why he adamantly believes he could (and might) make a return to the league.
Ex-NFL Star Greg Ellis I'm a Hollywood Producer Now Casts Big Stars On 1st Movie
He dominated on defense for the Dallas Cowboys ... but now former Pro Bowl defensive end Greg Ellis is quarterbacking his first Hollywood feature film -- and he's got some pretty big stars on board.
TMZ Sports has learned Ellis -- who made millions during his 11-year NFL career -- is the executive producer on a movie called "Carter High" ... starring Vivica A. Fox, Charles S. Dutton and David Banner.
The movie is based on the real life 1988 Carter High School football team -- a team that was rocked by scandal following allegations of players committing armed robbery and cheating in the classroom.
"As the executive producer, my role was to fill in wherever was needed. I tried to make sure everything flowed," Ellis says.
Ellis says his team reached out to former NFL star Jessie Armstead -- who was on the '88 Carter team -- and got him to participate in the movie, which Greg hopes to release around Thanksgiving.
"This is something I'd like to continue to do," Greg says about his new career ... "It's a lot of work but I like to inspire and shock people. Movies can make a huge impact on lives.
Fun Fact -- the '88 Carter squad was the team that beat Odessa Permian in H.G. Bissinger's non-fiction book, "Friday Night Lights."

Boxing Champ Adrien Broner Rejects Roc Nation F JAY Z & Rihanna
Three-time world boxing champ Adrien Broner fiercely attacked Jay Z for what he says is a highly insulting offer to join Roc Nation Sports.
Adrien just appeared on "TMZ Hollywood Sports" and skewered the hop-hop mogul/sports titan for offering him a paltry $40 mil for 5 years. Adrien reaffirmed his directive that Jay could "suck my ****."
Going after Jay Z takes balls, but he got even ballsier when he went after another Roc Nation client, Rihanna, whom he says could go f herself, adding the only thing she's good for is p****.

Ex-Miami Dolphins Player I Fell Overboard While Catching a Fish
Former Miami Dolphins player Robert Konrad told police he fell off his boat when he lost his footing while catching a fish late Wednesday night ... TMZ Sports has learned.
TMZ Sports has obtained the police report taken by Palm Beach PD after Konrad swam 9 miles to shore ... and the 38-year-old explained that he "had hooked up a fish when he lost his footing and fell overboard."
There's more ... the report says when Konrad reached land, he approached an officer who was working a security detail around 4:42 AM... while wearing only "jockey shore underwear."
Emergency responders were called to the scene to treat the former NFL player -- who was then transported to a nearby hospital.
As we previously reported, Konrad's boat was eventually recovered as well. He has since been released from the hospital.

Ex-Miami Dolphins Player RUNAWAY BOAT RECOVERED ... In Insane Survival Saga
Authorities tell TMZ Sports ... they have recovered the fishing boat that was carrying former Miami Dolphins player Robert Konrad -- the guy who miraculously swam 9 miles to shore.
The story is insane ... 38-year-old Konrad was knocked out of his boat off the coast of Florida -- and the boat, which was on autopilot, drifted away from him. Konrad spent between 10 and 12 hours swimming back to shore.
Now, the Coast Guard tells us they have found the boat -- which finally washed ashore on the Grand Bahamas Island.
As for Konrad, he was hospitalized for hypothermia ... but has since been released.
No word on if he plans to keep the boat.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones just appeared on "Mike & Mike" on ESPN radio and told the guys he's got two seats for Chris Christie to attend the game this weekend in Green Bay.
Hopefully, he'll get a third seat ... so Chris can bring a guest.
Dennis Rodman 'The Interview' Was Cool with Me
It may have pissed off his BFF Kim Jong Un ... but Dennis Rodman didn't seem to have a problem with "The Interview."
The Worm was leaving Talesai restaurant on Sunset when we asked if watched the Seth Rogen comedy that became an international political issue over a death scene involving Un.
Unclear if Rodman actually saw the flick, but when we asked him how he felt about the situation as a whole ... he told us, "It's all good."
No anger. No outrage. Nothing.
Interesting note ... Thursday was Kim Jong Un's birthday.
Last year, Rodman celebrated the occasion by singing "Happy Birthday" to Un in person. This year ... Thai food in Hollywood.

NFL Threatens Businesses Over Social Media Pics There's a 6-Player Limit
The days of using NFL players to promote your products for free on social media are over – so says the NFL which is now warning businesses, if they post pictures of 6 or more players using their products on social media … they better pay up!
TMZ Sports has obtained a letter sent by the league to Orefici Watches ... demanding the company immediately stop posting pictures of NFL stars wearing their jewelry on its various websites and social media pages.
But the explanation is the interesting part -- in the letter, the NFL says the league "has the exclusive right to license the names, likenesses, images" and more of nearly all NFL players for commercial products and promotions involving six or more players.
The NFL demanded Orefici remove the images ASAP or else it would take further legal action against the company. We're told Orefici complied.
FYI -- after the company received the letter, DeMarco Murray contacted the company and bought 22 watches for various teammates ... though pics of the players sporting the watches are noticeably absent from Orefici's social media.

Finally, some good news for Michael Sam -- HE'S ENGAGED!!!
It all went down in Europe where the 25-year-old football player has been vacationing with his college sweetheart Vito Cammisano ... the man Sam famously kissed when he was drafted into the NFL last year.
Unclear who asked who ... but one of Vito's friends (who was on the University of Missouri swim team with Vito) is already congratulating the couple about it on Instagram ... and Sam "liked" her post.
Sam has raved about his relationship with Vito -- and the two even traveled together to St. Louis and Dallas when Michael was working out with the NFL teams.

It was the scene that got the chop from "For the Love of the Game" ... Kevin Costner in the buff ... but KC tells TMZ Sports the fact his junk hit the cutting room floor doesn't bother him at all.
Back when the movie came out in '99, there were reports that the scene contained full-frontal Costner nudity ... but studio execs gave the scene the chop before it hit the big screen.
(You can imagine the emotions one must feel after being told your nude scene wasn't good enough to make the cut.)
