Johnny Manziel allegedly punched a man in the face in a huge brawl at a Cleveland hotel Friday night and ... and cops tell TMZ Sports an investigation is under way.

According to a police report filed with the Cleveland PD, a man named Chris Gonos claims he approached Manziel outside of an elevator at the The 9 hotel late Friday evening.

Gonos tells TMZ Sports he wanted to give Manziel a handshake and a hug -- but someone in Johnny's entourage wasn't havin' it and tackled him.

Gonos says a melee ensued ... and claims Johnny "sucker punched my brother in the back of the head."

According to police, hotel security broke up the fight. No arrests were made.

Cleveland Browns General Manager Ray Farmer released a statement Monday, saying, "We are aware of the incident and are in the process of gathering additional information in order to gain a complete understanding of what occurred."

Cops raced to Jose Canseco's Las Vegas home over the weekend after his fiancee called 911 and told police he repeatedly threatened to kill her -- but Jose tells TMZ Sports she's lying through her teeth.

Law enforcement confirms ... Leila Knight called 911 around 11:45 PM on Saturday to report a domestic incident.

Leila tells TMZ Sports ... Jose had flipped out after she dumped him and he "threatened to kill me and my mother." Knight claims he repeated the threat "like 20 times."

Cops rushed to the scene ... and spoke with both Jose and Leila ... but no arrests were made.

We're told cops issued a warning to both parties.

But Jose says Leila is simply spreading lies because he's the one who dumped her ... and she's bitter.

"She's slandering me because I don't want to be with her," Canseco says ... "I fell out of love with her because she's too controlling."

Jose Canseco's engagement is officially OVER ... with Leila Knight telling TMZ Sports she dumped the former MLB star because "he's an a**hole."

One month after he shot himself in the finger ... nearly striking Leila in their Vegas home ... Knight tells us, "I broke up with Jose and am leaving him for good."

Jose has also acknowledged the breakup ... saying, "Leila and I have gone our separate ways. check back later and find out what happened."

So far, the details surrounding the split are unclear ... but Leila is clearly upset -- saying Canseco is an "a**hole" who mistreated her. She also says, "So happy to be single again. Took me a long time to use my brain instead of my heart."

The two got engaged back in 2013 and had been living together in Vegas.

8:32 AM PT -- We spoke with Rachel who tells us ... "Ray was a really nice guy. It was a positive interaction, even though his dog was sick."

She adds, "He took pictures with anyone who asked."

"What I wrote was a silly little lapse in judgment."

So, Ray Rice took his sick dog to the vet this weekend ... and it ended up biting him in the ass.

The former Baltimore Ravens running back posed for a photo with a woman who seemed to be a fan at a Maryland veterinary center last week. But after the woman snapped the shot, she went to Twitter and posted the pic along with the caption ...

"Sh*t I just met Ray Rice at my work but I forgot he's the one who beat his girlfriend."

Oops.

Pittsburgh Pirates superstar Andrew McCutchen is a MARRIED MAN ... one year after proposing to his girlfriend Maria Hanslovan on "Ellen" ... TMZ Sports has learned.

The two were married in a ceremony on November 22nd ... they reportedly picked the date because of Andrew's jersey number ... 22.

When he proposed, Andrew told Maria ... "I did this to show you that ... If I could tell the whole world how much I love you, I would do that."

Obviously, she said yes and this weekend ... they finally swapped "I dos."

And to prove it's official ... Maria already changed her last name on her Twitter account to McCutchen!!!

Bad news for the Lakers ... one of the team's BIGGEST celebrity fans is getting real bored with the Purple and Gold -- telling TMZ Sports he's going to games "less and less" these days.

We spoke to music legend Lou Adler -- who's been a staple at Lakers games over the past decades sitting courtside next to his good friend Jack Nicholson.

But when we asked if he was still supporting the squad even though it's been rough this season ... Adler seemed less than jazzed about the Lake Show.

In fact, Adler seemed so down on the team he told us he's not even sure a winning record could get him back -- telling us it's not about IF the team wins or loses ... it's HOW the team wins or loses.

Unclear if the Internet domain site will be spending $4 MILLION for a 30-second spot or dropping $8 MIL for 60 seconds.

Roc Boys were in the building last night ... when Jay Z hit up MetLife Stadium to watch his newest client, Dez Bryant, tear up the NY Giants ... and even made time to shmooze with Jerry Jones.

Of course, Jay's Roc Nation Sports just signed #88 ... and Dez couldn't be happier about it -- throwing up the Roc Nation sign after both of his touchdowns last night.

Dez is reportedly gunning for one of the biggest contracts in NFL history ... something over the $100 million mark ... and after last night's performance, ya gotta think Jay's more confident than ever that he'll get it.

It was the war of the richest kind ... Kevin Garnett being sued by his Malibu neighbor for blocking his million dollar view of the Pacific Ocean ... but now it seems a cease-fire has been reached.

We broke the story ... Garnett (who lives in a $9.5 million mansion) was sued by his next door neighbor (who lives in a $3.5 million mansion) in July for allegedly allowing his trees to grow so wildly they obstructed the neighbor's killer ocean view.

But now, according to new court docs obtained by TMZ Sports, the neighbor has had a sudden change of heart ... and has asked the judge to dismiss the case. All signs point to settlement.

The next time UFC badass Thiago Alves steps in the octogon, he'll bleed RED, WHITE & BLUE ... 'cause he just officially became an American citizen!!

The 31-year-old Brazilian-born fighter broke the news this week ... saying, "It's official. I am a American citizen! Very proud of this moment, God bless America!"

Dwight Howard's son has had a rougher time than anyone thought ... the baby mama who reported Dwight to Children's Services for belting their son was herself investigated for the exact same thing.

The Florida Dept. of Children and Families (DCF) got a call in February from 6-year-old Braylon's school, informing authorities the boy had been belted on the back of his neck and leg for using "potty words."

According to docs, baby mama Royce Reed fessed up and said she did indeed belt the boy because he "dropped the f-bomb" in school. Authorities checked out the kid and there were no obvious marks ... she told them she only hit him once with a child fabric belt. The case was closed out, but school officials spoke with Reed and accused her of using excessive force on the child.

TMZ broke the story ... Reed called DCF in August, saying Howard belted Braylon badly ... and Howard subsequently copped to it. Howard is currently the subject of a criminal child abuse investigation for the incident.

If you thought Brittney Palmer's ass was a work of art ... wait'll you see what she does with a paint brush.

TMZ Sports has leaned the UFC ring girl has built up a pretty successful side business as a painter -- and the going rate on her stuff is around $6,000 per painting.

We spoke to Palmer, who tells us she's always loved art, but didn't get serious about it until 4 years ago when she enrolled in art school ... and it blew up from there.

"I posted what I thought were these sh**ty, sh**ty, paintings [on Twitter] -- but people contacted me and asked to buy them," Palmer says.

Brittney says she's been hired to paint for all sorts of celebs, including computer guru Michael Dell and UFC fighter "Mighty Mouse" Johnson ... saying, "I usually get $3,000-6,000 for each painting, depending on the details."

But there's one person who doesn't have to pay ... Brittney's BOSS ... UFC honcho Dana White.

"I did a Muhammad Ali painting for Dana," Palmer said ... "It's not on the wall, but he still has it."

UFC champ Jon "Bones" Jones says he doesn't believe the allegations against Bill Cosby -- telling TMZ Sports the actor always seemed way too classy to be a rapist.

Jones was at LAX Friday when he explained why he was on Team Bill -- "I've never met him, but from what I've seen he seems to be a class act. I kinda grew up admiring him."

In fact, Jones also joked that Cosby was such a huge star, he wouldn't need to rape women -- he could have anybody he wants.
