The officer who arrested Justin Blackmon did NOT mistreat the NFL star during his marijuana arrest this week ... despite claims that the cop was "aggressive" ... this according to the Edmond PD.

After TMZ Sports posted the dash cam footage showing the Jacksonville Jaguars receiver's encounter with police on Wednesday ... the PD came under fire from people who claim the cop was a "bully" who "overreacted" during the incident in which Blackmon was handcuffed when cops suspected he had weed in the car (For the record, cops say they found 2 blunts).

But the Edmond PD is backing its guy -- telling TMZ Sports the officer "acted in compliance of and according to our policy in regards to how arrests are conducted."

"Placing someone in handcuffs in that situation is a safety issue not only for the officer, but the person involved who could react in a manner that would turn a minor violation into a felonious act."

The EPD notes that Blackmon was "fully cooperative and compliant throughout this incident."

The Jacksonville Jaguars are standing by Justin Blackmon -- with one teammate telling TMZ Sports, "No one in our building has given up on him."

After the 24-year-old wide receiver was arrested for weed possession this week -- his 3rd arrest in the past few years -- we spoke with Jags tight end Marcedes Lewis who says the guys in the locker room want to HELP their teammate.

"He just needs help," Lewis says ... "I want to let him know he has our support. He doesn't have to be embarrassed. We're here for him."

In fact, Lewis says Jags head coach Gus Bradley addressed the issue with the squad this week -- "Coach got up in front of the team [Thursday] and said, 'Look, we're not giving up on him.'"

Marcedes says several coaches and players -- including himself -- have tried to reach out to Blackmon since the arrest but haven't been able to get a hold of the WR.

Still, Lewis says he has a message for Blackmon -- come back to Jacksonville.

The squad traveled to the beautiful beaches of PR to snap their new calendar -- and luckily for the world they brought cameras along to capture the hotness.

4:30 PM PT: Daniel Bryan and his wife Brie spoke about the incident during a press conference ... and the wrestler said he sprung into action because he was worried about their dog, Josie, who was in the house.

The wrestling star says it wasn't difficult to subdue the burglar because the guy wasn't in great shape. However he wouldn't say if the thief was rendered unconscious.

Bryan also got incredibly emotional while talking about the bracelet his father gave him that the burglars attempted to steal.

Daniel Bryan is a bona fide bad ass ... chasing down a burglar on foot, then locking him in a submission hold until cops arrived.

Daniel and his wife Brie Bella had just come home Thursday night when they saw 2 men on their way out of their house. The burglars dropped the stuff they were stealing and hightailed it down the street.

D.B. gave chase ... the bad guys had a big head start but the champ caught up with one of them and locked him in a rear naked choke for 5 minutes until cops arrived.

Daniel's feat is all the more impressive because the guy he caught is facing kidnapping charges in another case.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch ... Daniel's wife Brie retrieved the loot the guys were in the process of stealing, including a bracelet that belonged to the wrestler's recently deceased dad.

The second guy is still on the loose, but there's one less bad guy on the streets, thanks to D.B.

YES! YES! YES!

Cops have finally identified the Cleveland Browns fan who peed on the grave of late Baltimore Ravens owner Art Modell ... and now the case is the hands of the State Attorney ... TMZ Sports has learned.

The footage has been all over the Internet -- showing some pudgy dude in a Lyle Alzado jersey calling Modell a "piece of s**t" who tried to kill the Browns ... before taking a leak on his gravestone.

ESPN has a civil (and gender) war on its hands ... as "SportsNation" host Michelle Beadle has lashed out on Twitter at "First Take" host Stephen A. Smith for his comments about domestic abuse.

It began Friday morning when Smith, in the context of the NFL's suspension of Ray Rice, brought up the idea that there are things women can do to prevent themselves from becoming domestic violence victims.

Beadle, who revealed she was once in an abusive relationship, said she "would never feel clean again" after taking in Smith's comments. She wrote, "I'm thinking about wearing a miniskirt this weekend...I'd hate to think what I'd be asking for by doing so @stephenasmith. #dontprovoke"

She added, "Violence isn't the victim's issue. It's the abuser's. To insinuate otherwise is irresponsible and disgusting. Walk. Away."

For his part, Smith did apologize to Beadle and said he "could've been more articulate on the matter."

But he seemed to make the situation worse when he went on to say, "... What about addressing women on how they can help prevent the obvious wrong being done upon them? ... I was simply saying that preventive measures always need to be addressed because there's only but so much that can be done after the fact....once the damage is already done."

Oh, the damage is done alright.

Shaquille O'Neal wants to get BACK IN THE RAP GAME ... for real ... and he's so serious, he just made a freestyle rap audition video for Pharrell.

Despite the fact it's been 16 years since The Diesel released his last album, Shaq is hittin' up the "Happy" singer to give him a chance to rap on the NBA 2K15 video game soundtrack (which P is producing).

Hence the audition video ... in which Shaq rhymes the work "platinum" with ... well, we really can't understand what he's saying ... it's sorta gibberishy.

While the freestyle isn't quite on "Tell Me How My Ass Tastes" levels of epicness, it's not far off. Check it out.

FYI -- Nothing will ever be on "Tell Me How My Ass Taste" levels ... Nothing.

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Rolando McClain was convicted of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct in Alabama this morning over an incident where he cussed out cops back in 2013 ... and was sentenced to 18 days in jail.

McClain -- a 1st round pick in 2010 NFL Draft -- was arrested at a park in Decatur last year when cops arrived to the scene to break up a large crowd and McClain began to cuss and scream at one of the officers.

McClain appeared in court this morning -- where prosecutors used dash cam video to prove McClain was out of control.

Jim Brown's 1964 Cleveland Browns Championship ring has been PULLED OFF THE AUCTION BLOCK amid allegations the ring was stolen from the NFL legend back in the '60s ... TMZ Sports has learned.

Earlier this week, Brown sued Lelands Collectibles Inc. in the hopes of getting the ring back -- though he does NOT accuse the auction house of having anything to do with the original alleged heist.

Lelands is ADAMANT the ring was obtained legally after Brown gifted the item to a family member several decades ago.

The auction house was expecting to rake in more than $250k from the ring -- but now, after Brown filed the lawsuit, they have pressed pause on the sale.

Sources tell us ... the auction house was not ordered to stop the auction but felt the move was in their best interest.

Dwyane Wade channeled his inner-Gronk ... and hit up the Beyonce & Jay Z concert in Chicago last night with wife-to-be Gabrielle Union.

B&J were playing at Soldier Field -- home of Da Bears-- where Michelle, Sasha and Malia Obama were reportedly in attendance.

No word if Wade and the Obamas hung out at the show -- but we know they're friends ... Dwyane even shot a commercial with Michelle earlier this year.

As we previously reported, Dwyane and Gabby are set to get married next month -- but have issued a social media BAN at the reception.

Interestingly enough, D-Wade tweeted and Instagrammed at the show last night -- bragging about how they got backstage after the concert.

Lil Wayne's sports management company has the potential to be HUGE -- and going after Cristiano Ronaldo to be client #1 could make for a "great partnership" ... so says rap superstar Common.

We broke the story ... Wayne is all set to handle Ronaldo's U.S.-based sports management needs (branding, marketing, etc.) ... a move Common thinks is smart because of Weezy's track record.

TMZ Sports broke the story ... Manziel was instructed to fire a football into the passenger window of a moving Nissan for a car dealership commercial in Cleveland.

Johnny nailed the stunt on the FIRST TAKE ... and plunked the driver right in the kisser.

You can hear the crowd going wild -- but we're told Johnny was calm, cool and collected -- and couldn't have been nicer on set.

Keyshia Cole's estranged husband shocked her by filing divorce papers before she could, or so it seemed ... but Daniel "Boobie" Gibson says it was actually an impostor -- with a thing for El Pollo Loco -- who did the deed.

TMZ broke the story ... the singer was on the verge of filing for divorce last month, but still hadn't pulled the trigger when Gibson supposedly filed last week in L.A. County Superior Court.

We got a copy of the docs which looked pretty standard ... citing irreconcilable differences. However, it seemed odd an ex-NBA player like Gibson would list himself as his attorney.

We called the phone # listed for him in the papers -- and the person who answered claimed he was Gibson, but sounded suspect. So, we checked the address listed ... and it turned out to be an El Pollo Loco restaurant. Crazy, right?

The real Boobie assured us he never once considered filing, telling us ... "She would have to do it. I am a Christian. I believe in 'til death do us part.'"

Gibson says he's going to press charges against the impostor.

For her part, Keyshia tells us nothing's changed -- she still plans to go forward with the divorce. Sorry Boobie ... and fake Boobie.

Cristiano Ronaldo is about to become a YOUNG MONEY CASH MONEY BILLIONAIRE ... because sources tell TMZ Sports Lil Wayne is starting his own sports management company and Ronaldo will be client #1.

Our sources tell us ... Weezy has been wanting to get into the sports management game for a while and has had his sights set on the Team Portugal stud ... not just because he's a huge sports star, but because they're friends.

We're told Weezy's company will be working with PolarisSports -- which is affiliated with the CAA agency and GestiFute -- through which Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes operates.

Our sources tell us Wayne's company will handle Ronaldo's sports management affairs in the United States -- everything from branding to marketing and endorsement deals. Even modeling.

Seems Ronaldo is pumped about the situation -- he just posted a photo with the Prime Minister of Japan along with other Japanese politicians ... and they were all throwing up the YMCMB sign.
