Charles Barkley got LAST PLACE at a celeb golf tourney in Lake Tahoe ... finishing behind Larry the Cable Guy ... and along the way he cussed out his golf ball ... and TMZ Sports has the footage.

Sir Chuck was playing in the American Century Championship ... where he may have turned in the worst performance of his life.

He finished 86th out of 86 celeb players ... behind 85th place (Team USA female hockey star Hilary Knight) ... and 84th place (Larry the Cable Guy).

In fact, Barkley didn't make par ONCE during the tourney and only bogeyed 5 times in 54 holes.

On the other side of the spectrum, Mark Rypien CRUSHED IT ... winning the tourney in front of Jeremy Roenick and Annika Sorenstam.

Johnny Manziel may be on the verge of GF'ing up ... 'cause the NFL's most eligible bachelor has been out several times with the same hot blonde -- AND POSED FOR KISSY PICS!!!

The girl on Johnny's cheek is Colleen Crowley ... a college student at TCU who was first spotted out with Manziel roughly 5 weeks ago when they hit a Houston nightclub together.

Then, there was the baseball date at Fenway Park ... followed by a booze sesh at a Boston speakeasy.

Now, the biggest clue they're getting "official" ... they BOTH posted kissy pics on each other's Instagram accounts last night (well, she was kissing him ... but he was cuddling her back).

6'10" NBA center Ed Davis is pulling a reverse Skee-Lo ... telling TMZ Sports he wishes he was a little bit smaller so he could fit into some INSANE sports cars.

Davis -- who just signed a $2 million contract with the Lake Show -- was at Paul George's Celebrity Classic in L.A. when our photog asked if he'd be breaking out the wallet to scoop up a sick Lambo in the parking lot.

"If I could fit in it, i would," Davis said ... "but it's too small man!"

Don't worry ... Davis said he had his eye on a "big boy whip" instead ... one more suitable for his ginormous frame.

Isaiah Austin -- the projected 1st rounder who's dream to play in the NBA was dashed when he was diagnosed with Marfan Syndrome -- tells TMZ Sports he's got an NBA job lined up ... just as soon as he gets his college degree.

The 20-year-old former college superstar was in D.C. yesterday and told us he's even more motivated to go back to Baylor University in August to finish up his classes ... after a conversation with NBA Commish Adam Silver.

Austin -- who was ceremonially drafted by the NBA at the Draft back in June -- tells us Silver already hooked him up with a part-time gig with the league's NBA Cares program ... and promised full-time work once he gets his degree.

Now, it ain't exactly playing center for the Bulls ... but it's a pretty great deal ... and Austin couldn't be more grateful for the opportunity.

George Foreman's 23-year-old son has lawyered up in his domestic violence case -- hiring the famous attorney who represented cult-leader David Koresh during the '93 siege in Waco.

TMZ Sports has learned ... George Foreman V has teamed up with Dick DeGuerin ... who was called into action by Koresh's mother to negotiate with the FBI on David's behalf during the standoff.

In fact, just days before his death, Koresh sent DeGuerin a hand-written letter informing him that he had been in communication with god ... and relayed god's messages to the FBI.

DeGuerin was actually invited inside the compound during the 51-day standoff ... though things didn't exactly end well -- with Koresh (and roughly 80 followers) perishing in the fire/gun-battle that ended on April 19, 1993.

Now, we've learned DeGuerin is officially on-board for the Foreman case -- which stems from an incident in February when the legendary boxer's son was arrested in Texas for allegedly choking his wife during a domestic dispute.

NFL superstar Greg Hardy -- aka "The Kraken" -- is having a bad month ... 'cause days after he was found guilty of assaulting his ex-GF, his rap show CRASHED AND BURNED on stage ... and TMZ Sports has the footage.

The Carolina Panthers defensive end (and aspiring rapper) was scheduled to host a party at Club Label on Sunday July 20th -- and graced the crowd with a special live rap performance.

Sources at the club tell us the show was a mess ... with people turning all the way down when Kraken hit the stage. Some even left the dance floor.

But the worst part (for Hardy) was during his 2nd song, the mic mysteriously died -- and a confused and disappointed Kraken eventually walked off the stage.

Sources at the show tell us crowd members suspected the DJ cut the mic to spare the crowd and save the party -- though the DJ tells TMZ Sports it's not the case ... blaming a technical mishap.

Hardy kept his cool -- which is good for him considering on Tuesday a judge had sentenced the NFL star to 18 months probation for beating and threatening to kill his ex-girlfriend Nicole Holder during an altercation back in May.

Donald Sterling is now willing to talk about selling the team over which he's waging legal war ... because he just met with Steve Ballmer to talk about the sale of the Los Angeles Clippers.

Ballmer went to Sterling's Beverly Hills estate Monday at 3 PM, along with Shelly Sterling's lawyer, Pierce O'Donnell ... who brokered the $2 billion deal.

Sources tell TMZ Sports ... Donald has softened his position and is now considering signing off on the sale ... in no small part because his lawyers have told him he's going to lose his court case.

Our sources say Donald himself requested the meeting.

A former UCLA associate athletic director will have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life ... after pleading no contest to possession of child porn.

TMZ Sports broke the story ... officials say Michael Sondheimer was in possession of child porn on his work-issued laptop in April 2013. He was charged with a felony. Sondheimer initially pled not guilty.

Now, officials say Sondheimer struck a plea deal -- in which he plead no contest and in exchange was sentenced to 3 years probation and was ordered to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

Michael Sam is responding to Tony Dungy's comments -- by not responding -- with Sam's rep telling TMZ Sports he refuses to engage with the legendary coach ... and wants to keep his focus on football.

It's not the first time Sam has had to deal with a former NFL coach claiming his sexual orientation would be a distraction -- earlier this year, Herm Edwards said Sam has "issues" and coaches would have to decide if they want to bring that kind of "baggage" into the locker room.

Sam didn't respond to Edwards either.

Now, with Rams training camp officially opening up for rookies today (veterans report on Thursday), Sam's camp is once again issuing the perfect response ... "no comment."

Tony Dungy's comments about NOT wanting to draft Michael Sam because he's gay are MISGUIDED ... so says fellow NBC employee Sam Champion who says it would be a "shame" to pass on a capable player because of his sexual orientation.

As we previously reported, Dungy told a reporter he would pass on drafting Sam because he wouldn't want to "deal with" the gay factor ... even though he thinks Sam is talented enough to play in the league.

Sam -- a superstar weatherman at NBC (where Dungy serves as an NFL analyst) who's also openly gay -- tells TMZ Sports, "With all due respect to this great former coach, you don't have to deal with any of it, much less all of it."

"As a coach, you should have one policy for your players and who they are dating -- and that is to leave it off the field."
