If you ever get bit by a rattlesnake -- and Michelle Beadle is your only hope to suck out the poison -- congratulations ... you're gonna die.

Despite the fact she slurped the "poison" out of Linda Cohn's leg back in 2011 when the SportsCenter anchor was bit during a trail hike in AZ (see pic below) ... Beadle says she's not really sure the snake in question was even poisonous.

In fact, Beadle says if she had seen a rattle on the end of the serpent that chomped on Cohn ... Linda would probably be dead.

"Honestly, I don't think I would have sucked poison if it was a rattlesnake. She's on her own ... I gotta live. I got stuff to do."

Gotta respect the honesty.

Seems NBA superstar Larry Sanders has chilled out A LOT since his nightclub brawl last year -- 'cause instead of fighting, the guy is filling his free time reading like crazy ... and he could be the next Oprah.

Sanders -- who signed a $44 million contract with the Bucks last year -- was out in L.A. yesterday and told us he's become a huge bookworm ... and even offered up some of his favorite titles.

Larry is clearly a spiritual, thoughtful, intelligent guy ... who says he'd even consider running a book club a la Oprah Winfrey one day. So, it's hard to believe it's the same guy who was involved in a crazy bottle-throwing melee in Milwaukee last year.

Sanders was never arrested or charged with a crime for the fight -- but the video will definitely make you think twice the next time you think about picking on a book nerd.

Johnny Manziel drilled a stunt-car driver IN THE FACE with a football during a commercial for a Nissan dealership ... and the crowd went WILD ... TMZ Sports has learned.

Manziel was taping the commercial in Cleveland back in June -- in which he was supposed to throw a football into the window of an Altima that was running a wide receiver-style route on a football field.

We spoke to Bernie Moreno, President of the Collection Auto Group (which owns the dealership), who tells us Manziel's performance was incredible.

"The driver was going 25 mph and it was a 40 yard throw," Moreno said.

"Manziel made a perfect throw into the car. Everybody celebrated except the driver who got out the car with a huge welt on his face."

Finally, Tim Tebow's reputation is paying off -- BIG TIME -- because the neighbors in the FL community where he bought a $1.4 million pad CAN'T WAIT for the guy to move in ... TMZ Sports has learned.

The unemployed NFL quarterback just snatched up a 5 bedroom, 4.5 bathroom home in a private community in Jacksonville ... and he's being welcomed with open arms.

We spoke to several neighbors who were all super-pumped about Tim ... with one telling us, "Everyone's excited for him to move in, he seems like a nice man who will make a great neighbor. Our friends are more excited than anyone else!"

Another neighbor told us, "We've had athletes living in the area before who PARTY ... but I can't envision any parties based on his character."

As for the home, it's nothing too fancy ... 6,500 square feet ... lots of brick features ... and it's right next to one of his favorite golf courses.

DeSean Jackson didn't just show up to LeSean McCoy's celeb basketball game this weekend -- HE DOMINATED ... droppin' 42 points in a triumphant return to Philly.

The former Eagles wide receiver was the talk of "Shady Weekend" -- McCoy's first annual fundraiser to benefit ALS research.

Tons of stars came out for the event ... including Nelly, Bobby Valentino and DJ Clue ... who all played in the celeb hoops game.

Valentino says he had a blast ... except for when he had to guard #10.

"DeSean went HAM," Bobby says ... "He was unguardable. His basketball game is serious."

In the end, DeSean's team emerged victorious ... but the big winner was LeSean's charity.

Denver Broncos superstar Von Miller is an expert when it comes to chicks ... 'cause the Pro Bowler tells TMZ Sports he runs his own POULTRY FARM back in Texas ... and loves it!

The Dallas-born linebacker was at an ESPYs party at Lure in L.A. last night -- rockin' a cowboy hat -- when he raved about all things Texas ... the fashion, the music, the square-dancing and the farming.

Specifically, Von talked about the chicken farm he built at his Dallas home last year.

He started with 38 chickens ... and now, he's got 43 ... telling us it's not just a hobby -- it's functional because he eats the birds and the eggs.

Chris Brown is assaulting Drake again ... this time right in the mouth -- but truth be told it's part of a comedy skit at Wednesday's ESPY awards.

Here's what we know from the rehearsals ... the skit begins in a law office, then a locker room and finally in a dentist's office with Clippers star Blake Griffin standing over Drake like Steve Martin in "Little Shop of Horrors."

We're told ... Blake looks like he's about to go in deep, when a frightened Drake blurts out, "Are you really going to do this?" Then -- suddenly -- Chris walks in and answers, "No, I am!"
