LeBron James just got the Jim Brown stamp of approval -- with the Cleveland Browns legend telling TMZ Sports he's "pleased" that King James has decided to come back home.

Brown was at the Alex Thompson Foundation's Celebrity Golf Classic in L.A. when he praised the NBA star for deciding to leave Miami and return to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

"It's a great day for Cleveland. It's a great day for LeBron and his family," Brown said.

The oldest "Pro-Israel" organization in the United States is lashing out at NBA star Dwight Howard -- claiming his "#FreePalestine" tweet is hateful and ignorant.

Rihanna was the German special guest of honor at the World Cup afterparty last night ... gettin' wild with the team and the golden trophy ... and of course, she documented the entire thing.

For some reason, RiRi -- -- born in Barbados, lives in NYC -- is a HUGE fan of Team Germany and was at the game when Gotze hit the winning shot.

Apparently, Germany loves Rihanna too ... because they didn't just invite her to party the team ... they brought her the cup for a celebratory photo sesh.

She even tweeted about it ... "I touched the cup, held the cup, kissed the cup, took a selfie wit the cup!!! I meeeaan...... what is YO bucket list looking like bruh?"

Mario Gotze was a winner even BEFORE he hit the golden goal for Germany in the World Cup final yesterday ... at least, judging by his super hot German girlfriend.

The 22-year-old soccer legend (who's now a GOD in Germany) has been dating Ann Kathrin Brommel -- an aspiring model and singer.

Here's what we know about Ann -- she's 23-years-old, she's been dating Mario for roughly 2 years and Mario raced over to give her a kiss after he hit the winning shot.

Ann's also a huge fan of posting bikini selfies on social media.

The Redskins name is 100% OFFENSIVE ... and should be changed ASAP ... so says U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder.

Holder was speaking with ABC News when he was asked about the controversy;

"I'm going to speak very personally now ... The name ought to be changed. It's an offensive name."

He continued, "The Redskins, that organization is a great one. It's a team with a storied history that has huge amounts of support in Washington, D.C., and in the 21st century they could increase their fan base, increase their level of support, if they did something that from my perspective that is so obviously right."

Reggie Bush wasn't the only NFL star to get married this weekend ... 'cause just 90 minutes up the coast, Champ Bailey tied the knot to his super hot model girlfriend ... TMZ Sports has learned.

Who needs LeBron? Dwyane Wade proved he's a helluva solo act -- flexing his TERRIBLE singing voice in the name of comedy on a Disney Channel show last night ... and it's pretty great.

Wade had a pretty huge role on "Austin & Ally" -- playing himself ... but there was a twist -- he had an unhealthy obsession with Austin (who's a huge pop star on the show).

In one clip, Dwyane tries to prove he can sing in an effort to perform with Austin at a live concert .. his audition is predictably terrible -- but it's supposed to be and Wade nails the bit.

Who says Rolex watches are just for your wrist??

Apparently not L.A. Clippers star Chris Paul who hit up Greystone nightclub in Hollywood last night sportin' a baseball cap that appeared to have a gold Rolex band connecting the back.

Unclear who makes the hat or how much it costs -- but we're workin' on it ... give us a few mins.

Meantime, CP3 wasn't the only huge star at the club last night -- Seattle Seahawks star Richard Sherman and some of hs teammates were there too.

But none of them had a Rolex band on their headgear though.

7:09 AM PT -- OK, got the answer ... the hat is made by a company called "Gated Community" ... and it retails for $150.

The strap on the back is not an official Rolex strap -- but it appears it's made to resemble one. The company notes that if that hat doesn't fit your head, you can "easily remove a link on the hat to a suitable fit."

The new chick spotted out with Johnny Manziel is just his type -- she parties, she's athletic ... and she can rock the holy hell out of a bikini.

Glen 'Big Baby' Davis' NBA contract must not say anything about moonlighting ... 'cause the Clippers forward was in his hometown this week pushing fried chicken in the drive thru of a fast food chain.

It happened Wednesday in Baton Rouge when Glen stopped into Raising Cane's -- a super popular (and delicious) chicken finger joint -- and got behind a register during the lunch rush.

"Just another day working the drive through at @Raising_Canes. Come see me on Sherwood Forest Blvd in Baton Rouge." Glen tweeted.

Glen also tweeted several pictures of his fast food adventure and we gotta say, it's pretty hilarious to see the 6'9" 289 pound behemoth workin' the drive thru booth.

Anyone wondering if Davis has fallen on tough times should relax -- funds from his poultry peddling day were donated to his foundation which encourages inner city kids to stay in school.

Another positive? No computers were harmed during Glen's drive thru tenure.

Five-time Olympic swimming gold medalist Ian Thorpe confirmed he's gay during an Australian sit-down interview Sunday ... after years of speculation over his sexuality.

Thorpe had denied he was gay for a long time, but told Network Ten he realized the truth about himself sometime in the past few weeks ... and started coming out to the people closest to him.

The Thorpedo -- who dominated the 2000 Summer Games in Sydney -- says he lied about his sexuality because he was too young at the time to know the truth.

Thorpe says he doesn't feel bad about lying either, explaining, "I’m comfortable saying I’m a gay man. And I don’t want young people to feel the same way that I did. You can grow up, you can be comfortable, and you can be gay."

Brody Jenner may have been too busy to attend his step-sister's wedding last month, but he cleared the decks to attend her ex-boyfriend's nuptials.

Reggie Bush tied the knot in grand style -- though still short of Versailles -- at the Grand Del Mar in San Diego ... rated the #1 hotel in America by TripAdvisor.

The World Cup has been HUGE for the flag industry -- with sales of Germany and Argentina flags BOOMING in the U.S. with their incredible run ... but one flag is doing WAY better than the other.

TMZ Sports spoke with multiple MAJOR U.S.-based flag companies who tell us sales of German flags are up 800% since the tournament started ... and Argentinian flags up 400%.

So, who's selling more overall? That victory goes to Germany.

We also spoke with a rep for AAA Flag & Banner, a retail store with locations across the country, who tells us, "We sold almost all our of German flags [the day after they advanced to the finals]. We're ordering more. They're selling like hot bread."

While there have been some major upsets during the 2014 World Cup there is one thing on the field that hasn't let anyone down... the incredibly cool hairstyles from around the world!

Dwight Howard has stepped right into the middle of a heated political issue -- tweeting #FreePalestine ... and then immediately deleting it, apologizing and calling it a "mistake."

It all went down Saturday afternoon -- the NBA star offered no explanation as to why he posted the #FreePalestine tweet ... but it seems it was motivated by the current situation in the Middle East.

Moments after the tweet went up ... it went down ... and the backpeddling began, with Dwight writing, "Previous tweet was a mistake. I have never commented on international politics and never will."

Then came the follow up ... ""I apologize if I offended anyone with my previous tweet, it was a mistake!"
