Manny Ramirez didn't sign his new minor league baseball deal for the cash -- it's because he "doesn't know what to do with himself without baseball" ... so says former MLB star Royce Clayton.

41-year-old Manny just inked a deal with the Chicago Cubs to be a player/coach for its Triple-A affiliate in Iowa ... and Royce says it's just another example of "Manny being Manny."

Johnny Manziel is a multi-tasker ... at least according to him ... telling all of his anti-partying critics to back the hell off because it's possible to study the Browns playbook WHILE raging in Vegas.

Manziel went WILD in Sin City over the weekend -- fist-pumping with Pauly D, chasin' bikini-clad women with Rob Gronkowski and sprayin' champagne in the clubs!

But he also found time to brush up on his playbook ... allegedly ... because after the haters came out and questioned his decision-making (now that he's competing for a starting job) ... Johnny instagrammed a pic of the Browns playbook with the following message:

"Guess it's impossible to enjoy the weekend and study?"

Ice Cube is plugged in when it comes to the NBA -- so ya gotta believe the guy when he tells TMZ Sports that Phil Jackson is having serious remorse about leaving L.A. to run the Knicks.

"I know Phil hates New York ... at least coaching 'em. He may love the city but the team is GARBAGE."

For the record, the Knicks were 37-45 this season. No Bueno.

But while Phil looks for a new coach in NYC, Cube -- a die hard Lakers fan -- tells us he knows exactly who should run the Purple and Gold next season ... someone he considers "A real Laker."

Shelly Sterling will accept offers this week to buy the Los Angeles Clippers ... and a frontrunner is a group led by former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer ... TMZ Sports has learned.

We broke the story ... Shelly met with Ballmer Sunday at her Malibu home, and our sources say his group made "a very competitive offer."

Sources tell us .. Shelly and her lawyer Pierce O'Donnell have put the word out ... they'd like to make a deal THIS WEEK. We're also told NBA Commissioner Adam Silver is aware of what she's doing. O'Donnell would not comment but we're told Shelly and Silver have an open line of communication.

We're told there are several other potential buyers in which Shelly is interested, including:

-- Grant Hill Group (Hill is a former NBA star who teamed up with investment partners)
-- Magic Johnson and the Guggenheim Partners (a financial company based in Chicago)
-- Patrick Soon-Shiong (surgeon turned multi-billionaire businessman)
-- David Geffen and Larry Ellison

He had ice in his veins on the court, but a physical therapist says Robert Horry is downright cold-blooded when it comes to business … accusing the guy of running his sports rehab clinic into the ground … this according to a new lawsuit obtained by TMZ Sports.

Big Shot Rob is being sued by Torrance Earle – who claims the ex-NBA star bought out his Texas-based physical therapy business back in 2011 for $90k … which Horry was supposed to pay off in several installments.

In the suit, Earle claims Horry changed the name of the business to the Robert Horry Center for Sports and Physical Rehabilitation – and allowed him to continue working as a therapist.

But Earle claims the relationship fell apart when Horry started missing payments and Earle demanded the remaining balance in one lump sum. Earle says a short time later, Horry fired him from the clinic and began trashing him to patients, employees and everyone else in town, ruining his reputation.

Floyd Mayweather is NOT trying to get tricky with T.I.'s wife ... in fact, Floyd is telling friends he's shocked the rapper tried to pick a fight -- 'cause he thought they were all friends.

We're told Floyd never felt like there was any beef with T.I. -- nor does he want to be romantically involved with Tip's wife Tameka "Tiny" Cottle.

The meeting will take place at Shelly's Malibu mansion. TMZ Sports broke the story ... Donald Sterling has surrendered control of the team to Shelly.

We're told Shelly sees the handwriting on the wall -- the NBA wants the team sold -- but she wants to do it on her terms. She and her lawyer, Pierce O'Donnell, have been secretly meeting with NBA Commissioner Adam Silver to see if they can reach an agreement whereby Shelly has the right to voluntarily sell the team.

Shelly is taking matters into her own hands. Ballmer -- worth an estimated $20 billion -- has indicated he wants to buy the team. We're told O'Donnell will be present at the meeting.

T.I. never intended to get into a fight with Floyd Mayweather Sunday night in Las Vegas ... sources close to the rapper tell TMZ -- but Tip was definitely pissed about Money possibly getting close to his wife.

Tameka "Tiny" Cottle didn't appear to be near the fight last night -- but she was in Vegas -- and hours before posted a picture on Instagram while hanging out with Floyd's daughter ... calling the young girl her "new boo."

We're told T.I. was upset about the photo -- and others she posted -- and felt it was disrespectful to him ... so he planned to confront Floyd in person.

Once they got face-to-face though, T.I. flipped out when Floyd said "control your bitch" and started swinging outside Fatburger.

Manziel rolled into Surrender nightclub at Encore at Wynn Las Vegas just after midnight ... and got turnt ALL THE WAY UP -- partying with a crew of 4 dudes and 8 smokin' hot chicks.

Sources at the club tell us ... Johnny started off with Belvadere vodka before turning to champagne -- and the started pulling bubbly right from an expensive bottle of Dom.

We're told Johnny noticed Diplo from Major Lazer in the house (apparently, Johnny's a big fan) ... and called him to party together. As one source put it ... "They went nuts!"

T.I. took a swing at Floyd Mayweather Jr. and it caused a chair-tossing brawl in the Fatburger on the Vegas Strip early Sunday morning ... TMZ has learned ... and we've obtained multiple videos.

According to several witnesses ... Floyd was eating inside the restaurant when T.I. walked up and started jawing at Floyd.

It's unclear what caused the beef, but we're told T.I. swung at Floyd ... their giant bodyguards jumped in to separate them ... and then the all out melee began.

At one point you hear Floyd telling at T.I., "control your bitch."

Las Vegas PD arrived just as Floyd was leaving and we're told T.I. was already gone.

Police confirm a Fatburger employee was slashed during the fight, but he refused treatment and did not want to cooperate with investigating officers. In other words ... no snitching.

A rep for T.I. had no comment about the fight.

Less than a month ago, T.I. and Game were in the middle of a near riot with LAPD officers outside Supperclub.

The homeless guy who received $1,000 in cash from boxer Adrien Broner says he was attacked and robbed ... and the thieves stole almost EVERY DOLLAR he got from Broner.

In a video posted on World Star Hip Hop, the homeless man -- sporting a nasty black eye -- says he was hours away from going to put money down on an apartment when when he was attacked by two men.

The man implies that he was targeted because of the video Broner posted -- and says he only spent $20 or $30 of the $1k.
