Dodgers Propsect Alex Guerrero DECLINED TO PRESS CHARGES After Ear-Biting Dugout Fight

Published | Updated

Alex Guerrero -- the Dodgers minor league prospect who had part of his ear bitten off in a dugout fight Tuesday -- told cops immediately following the fight he did NOT want to press charges against the biter ... officials tell TMZ Sports.

Guerrero was allegedly attacked by Triple-A teammate Miguel Olivo during a minor league game in Salt Lake City -- with Olivo allegedly taking a bite out of Guerrero's ear.

Guerrero -- who signed a $28 million contract with the Dodgers -- is scheduled to have plastic surgery to reattach part of his lobe.

Now, the Salt Lake City PD tells us ... they were contacted by the hospital where Guerrero was treated -- and sent investigators to meet up with the injured player.

"Upon responding to the hospital and interviewing the man, the alleged victim declined to file a complaint," officials tell us ... "He didn't want to generate a report."

Guerrero told investigators he wants to consult with his lawyer and league officials-- and could change his mind ... and if that happens cops says, "If at any time the alleged victim does want to, we will take the report."

As for the fight, Olivo was reportedly pissed that Guerrero missed a tag on a play earlier in the game ... and the two had gone after each other on the pitcher's mound before the fight spilled into the dugout.

TMZ Sports has obtained pics of Hero Cat and Jeremy (pictured below) -- the little boy she saved from that vicious dog earlier this month -- taking the mound together at the Bakersfield Blaze game (the Class-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds).

Peyton Manning EX-TEAMMATE CREATES APP Inspired By Peyton's Super Bowl Meltdown

Published | Updated

What's bad for Peyton Manning is good for one of his former teammates -- because TMZ Sports has learned an ex-Colts player has created a new iPhone app inspired by Peyton's disastrous Super Bowl performance ... and it's already blowin' up.

Brandon King -- a DB who played with Manning in 2010 -- has developed a smart phone game called "Smashman" ... where a QB (who bears a striking resemblance to Peyton) gets chased around by a defense (that bears a striking resemblance to the Seahawks).

King tells TMZ Sports he came up with the idea after watching the Super Bowl -- saying, "It was the most embarrassing game I ever saw him play. I was like let me make an app where it’s almost impossible to score on a defense."

The gameplay is similar to the smash hit smart phone game "Flappy Bird" -- where players repeatedly tap the screen to move the main character upward to avoid obstacles (or enemies).

King says the object of the game is to score 44 points -- one more than the Seahawks scored on the Broncos in the S.B. -- but the ex-NFL player tells us it's nearly impossible.

"No one has gotten to 44 so far, it’s pretty hard."

King says business has been great so far -- with more than 2,000 downloads in the first week of its release.

As far as Peyton's concerned, King says he's not worried about hurting Manning's feelings -- "I think he would probably laugh. If anyone could laugh at it, it would be him."

Ray Rice Strikes Deal In Domestic Abuse Case ... No Jail Time

Published | Updated

Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice has struck a deal with prosecutors that could keep him out of jail for allegedly KOing his then-fiance in an Atlantic City casino ... but there's one big catch.

Rice was accepted into a pretrial intervention program on Tuesday -- a program that allows defendants to avoid prosecution pending the completion of a specific set of rehabilitative conditions.

Officials wouldn't give any specific details on Rice's program -- only saying that it will last one year ... and he MUST stay out of trouble during the course of the PTI.

If he can satisfy those requirements, prosecutors will drop the 3rd degree aggravated assault charge.

Rice's attorney told ESPN, "We're very happy with the result. We're glad that the court and the prosecutor's office agreed PTI was the appropriate disposition for the case."

As we previously reported, Rice was arrested on February 15 after allegedly beating up Janay Palmer (who he later married) at the Revel Casino in Atlantic City, NJ.

TMZ Sports published video showing Rice dragging Palmer's unconscious body out of a casino elevator ... but Rice's attorney insisted there was more to the story than meets the eye.

NBA Legend Gary Payton Only ONE Movie Ever Made Me Cry!

Published | Updated

It wasn't "Titanic." It wasn't even "The Notebook" ... but NBA Hall-of-Famer Gary Payton admits there was ONE movie that made him cry once ... and it's all Taye Diggs' fault.

The Glove and his son (Glove Jr.?) were leaving DBA nightclub in L.A. last night -- when we asked if he got misty eyed during Kevin Durant's MVP speech ... you know, the one where he thanked his mom (yeah, we cried. Don't judge).

For the record, Gary says HE didn't shed a single tear ... and tried to play the "I'm too tough to cry" card.

But when we pushed, Payton revealed the one flick that opened the waterworks -- a film that came out pretty recently.

Hint: Eddie George was in the movie ... but that's not why Gary was crying.
