Russell Westbrook I'M A DAD ... Kid Gets Baller Name

Published | Updated

Russell Westbrook had a pretty exciting Tuesday -- his wife, Nina, gave birth to their son!!!

The NBA star also revealed his kid's name -- Noah Russell Westbrook.

Interesting choice considering Russell is technically Russell Westbrook III -- and while he chose not to make his son Russell Westbrook IV ... he went with a very similar choice.

It's Russell and Nina's first kid. They were married in 2015 after being college sweethearts at UCLA, where they both played basketball.

So... see Noah at Pauley Pavilion in 2035???

Report: Josh Gordon 'Desperate for Cash'

Published | Updated

Cleveland Browns WR Josh Gordon is reportedly in dire financial straights and desperately hunting for a new agent who will float him some cash until he gets reinstated ... if that ever happens.

The insanely talented wideout hasn't played a snap in the NFL since 2014 -- and even then his season was cut short due to a substance abuse policy violation.

He was hoping to get reinstated last week -- but the NFL rejected his application and he won't get to apply again until September.

Meantime, he's running low on that NFL dough, so says Bleacher Report's Jason Cole who described Gordon's money issues as a "desperate financial situation."

Cole also notes that Gordon was fired by his agent, Joby Branion, and is hoping to sign with a new agent (one with a bankroll) in the hopes of getting a cash advance.

Shocking, considering Gordon is believed to have made $4.2 million since being signed by the Browns in 2012.

We've made attempts to reach Gordon -- so far, no word back.

Tee Martin's 13-Year-Old Son QB Won't Commit to Lane Kiffin ... Yet

Published | Updated

Tee Martin tells TMZ Sports he's "extremely proud" that his 13-year-old son already got a football scholarship offer from FAU coach Lane Kiffin ... but the QB prodigy ain't ready to commit yet.

We spoke with Tee who says he's convinced his son, Kaden Martin, is way better than he ever was ... and that's saying a lot considering Tee led Tennessee to a BCS title in 1998.

Tee points out that he worked under Lane at USC and that's how Kaden got on LK's radar -- but he was still "shocked" when Kiffin reached out with the offer.

When asked if Kaden was ready to sign, Tee told us it's very important for Kaden to "go through the recruiting process" and look at his options after he gets to high school.

But Tee says that doesn't mean FAU is out.

FYI, Kaden is 5'11" and 175 lbs -- and Tee says, "He's way better than me at that age in ALL sports."

Bottom line -- Lane's offer may be the first ... but it probably won't be the last.

DRIVE-BY SHOOTING

A cyclist riding in New Orleans got hit by a stray bullet from a shooting nearby ... and the whole thing was caught on video.

Christopher Weiss was cruising along with his cycling club in NOLA, when all of a sudden he shrieked in pain and had to pull over. As it turns out ... he'd been shot.

One of his fellow riders caught the entire encounter on their mounted bike camera, as another attended to his wound. It's pretty crazy -- you can see the exact moment he was hit ... even though you don't hear gunfire.

Luckily for Chris, it was only a minor flesh wound, and he's expected to make a full recovery.

Conor McGregor Shot Down Guy Ritchie For 'King Arthur' Role

Published | Updated

Guy Ritchie tried -- and failed -- to cast Conor McGregor in his new 'King Arthur' flick ... all because the UFC star said he didn't want to distract himself from fighting.

Ritchie admitted going after McGregor to The Irish Sun -- saying he thinks McGregor's got what it takes to be the next Jason Statham ... who starred in Guy's smash hits, "Snatch" and "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels."

"Like Jason Statham, he’s an athlete, completely on his game all the time. Look where he’s at now. And you can see that similarity in Conor, he could clean up in Hollywood."

“We even went after him for a part in the movie but he wasn’t having any of it. Was training for a fight at the time, couldn’t take his attention away from that."

The fight was UFC 194 ... when Conor knocked out Jose Aldo in 13 seconds.

Conor has been getting movie offers for years -- but previously told us he'll only take a role if the money's right.

But when we saw Serena in NYC, she shot down the retirement talk.

We also asked if she's having any pregnancy cravings -- and of course, it's healthy.

NOTHING ELSE MATTERS EXCEPT SPORTS

Metallica frontman James Hetfield is a huge Raiders fan -- and says he's "a little pissed" that his team is ditching Oakland for Sin City.

FYI, Hetfield actively campaigned for the Raiders to stay in the Bay Area -- and publicly supported Ronnie Lott in his efforts to build a new stadium for the team in Oakland.

But those plans didn't work out and Raiders owner, Mark Davis, ultimately got league approval to move the team to Las Vegas. The team is expected to relocate in 2019.

Hetfield says he'll continue to support the Silver and Black (he stuck by them during the L.A. years) ... but it's clear he's still bummed.

GLORY TO HIS AIRNESS

LeBron James will always be #2 behind Michael Jordan when it comes to business ... so says Cris Carter, who says Jordan Brand has a secret weapon to stay ahead of Bron -- women.

Cris was out in NYC with Nick Wright, the co-host of his new FS1 morning show, "First Things First" -- when we asked if LeBron's brand will ever overtake Jordan as the #1 name in athletic wear.

The NFL Hall of Famer says MJ was VERY smart about growing his business -- appealing to women -- and it paid off huge. He thinks MJ has too big of a lead for LeBron to catch up.

Even Wright -- captain of the LeBron James fan club -- admits Carter has a solid point ... but couldn't leave without taking one last dig at the original #23.

Kobe Bryant Supports Jordan Edwards' Family Sends Jersey to Brother of Teen Killed By Cop

Published | Updated

Kobe Bryant is stepping up big for the family of Jordan Edwards -- the unarmed 15-year-old shot and killed by a Dallas cop last month -- sending a special birthday gift to Jordan's brother.

Mamba was clearly moved after hearing Kevon Edwards was in the car with Jordan when an officer opened fire as the brothers were leaving a party in Balch Springs, TX on April 29.

Officer Roy Oliver (who's been fired) has been charged with murder in the shooting -- and the case has once again put the spotlight on fatal police shootings involving white officers and black men.

Kobe's obviously been following the story, because he knew Kevon just celebrated his 17th birthday and sent over some sweet gear to help him celebrate -- including a signed jersey and two pairs of Mamba's signature shoe.

BTW -- The message on the jersey read "To Kevon, Do epic things! God bless. Much love!"

Pacman Jones Pleads Guilty In Crazy Hotel Tirade Case

Published | Updated

Props to Pacman Jones' attorney -- 'cause despite all the crazy stuff the NFL star did during a crazed Jan. 3rd tirade in Cincinnati, he won't serve another minute behind bars.

The Bengals star just appeared in court (sporting a nice suit) where he pled guilty to obstructing official business stemming from the incident where he allegedly got into it with a hotel security guard.

Remember, Pacman went off on the guard AND Cincinnati police that night -- wishing death on one of the officers and telling the cop to, "Suck my d**k."

PACMAN GOES OFF

Pacman was initially charged with disorderly conduct and assault as well -- but those charges were dropped as part of his deal.

In exchange, Pacman was sentenced to 2 days in jail -- but got credit for time served ... so, he won't be going back behind bars.

Pacman apologized for his actions in court -- telling the judge he's trying to become a better person and his actions that night were not a true representation of the real Adam Jones.

Pacman's attorneys told the judge he's a "kind person" and only lashed out because he was frustrated. His lawyers also pointed out that Pacman's involved with the Special Olympics and other charitable endeavors.

Pacman's agent tells TMZ Sports, "As you can see there was no assault or head-butting or spitting. He plead guilty to obstructing official business based solely on his tone that night."

"While his actions were probably justified by the fact the officers failed to properly investigate the matter, he could have handled himself better."

Wizards Fan Knocks Out Celtics Fan At Game 7

A Washington Wizards fan socked a Boston Celtics fan in the face at the TD Garden during Game 7 -- dropping the dude into the seats ... while nearby fans cheered them on.

Unclear what started the fight, but the man in the John Wall jersey reached back and clocked the dude -- while the victim was still clutching his cell phone.

Another Celtics fan tried to jump in and help out his fallen comrade ... but the damage was already done.

We spoke with cops who say no one was arrested at TD Garden on Monday.

Meantime, we got a photo of the aftermath ... it was bloody.

Ex-Knicks Coach Defends Carmelo Anthony 'He Was Great For Me'

Published | Updated

Carmelo Anthony is getting some heavy duty backup in his nasty feud with Phil Jackson ... an ex-Knicks head coach who says he LOVED coaching 'Melo and says he's been "great" for the franchise.

Phil's been criticizing Anthony since he was hired as the Knicks President -- and made it clear he wants to trade Melo out of NYC as soon as possible.

We got former Knicks coach Mike Woodson -- who was fired by Phil back in '14 -- and asked what he thought of the Melo/Jackson feud ... and Mike took a side.

"I love Carmelo Anthony, that's all I'm gonna say," Woodson told us ... adding, "He was great for me."

Seems clear Woodson -- now an assistant with the Clippers -- is riding with his 'Melo, and why not? The two men were 109-79 together and made the playoffs twice, something the Knicks haven't done since.

And when we say "since" ... we mean since Phil Jackson was hired.

Just sayin' ...

Paul George I'm Gonna Train with Kobe 'Pick His Brain'

Published | Updated

Kobe Bryant is about to have a new apprentice ... Paul George.

The Indiana Pacers star appeared on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" and said he's gearing up to train with Kobe during the off-season -- "I plan on working out with him and pick his brain a little bit."

Kobe's sessions are legendary -- George says he's already training just so he can survive Mamba's workout.

George doesn't become a free agent until after next season -- but Kimmel put the court press on him to join the Lakers ... even busting out a Magic Johnson clip to help sway the guy.

He'd look good in Purple and Gold. Just sayin' ...

LET HIM PLAY

LaVar Ball just got dunked on by Dennis Rodman ... who had a very simple, yet aggressive message for the Big Baller Brand honcho when we got him out in L.A.

"YOU SUCK!"

Why does Ball suck? According to Dennis, it's 'cause he won't get outta the way and let his superstar son, Lonzo, just play basketball, like Rodman's done for his athletic progeny.

Of course Ball's heard this before ... some have accused LaVar of being all about himself and not about his kids, which interestingly enough seems to be the one thing the Worm doesn't agree with.

"Good man, good father, great provider, love him ... just let your kids play man."

We're sure LaVar will have nothing to say about this ... until the moment he speaks again.

Andrew -- who's black -- came under fire over the weekend after telling our photog she doesn't date black guys and thinks mixed raced couples make "beautiful babies."

But Andrew says just because she's attracted to white guys doesn't make her a racist -- "It's a preference thing."

Andrew says she's definitely open to dating men of all races ... "If you're dope, you're dope."

Adrien Broner Shooting Bullets Struck Driver's Side ... Boxer Lucky to Be Alive

THEY HATE ME 'CAUSE I'M RICH

New police footage of Adrien Broner's bullet-ridden SUV shows exactly how close the boxer was to being shot the night he was arrested in Kentucky ... and AB's lucky to be alive.

As we previously reported, Broner was arrested in April on a warrant stemming from a failure to appear in court for a previous arrest in 2014. During the stop, cops noticed bullet holes in Broner's rented Chevy Suburban.

In the police video obtained by TMZ Sports, Broner tells cops he was targeted while leaving a bar in Cincinnati earlier that night by unknown assailants. Broner claims they shot at him because he's rich and famous and they were jealous.

The video shows bullets struck the SUV in the driver's side doors and back driver's side window -- as well as the roof and trunk.

Broner was driving the car -- meaning the bullets came dangerously close to striking the boxer.

AB was eventually arrested that night for the warrant but was released from custody a short time later. As for the shooting, cops tell us the investigation has been closed due to lack of evidence and Broner's refusal to work with investigators.
