Shaq's kid might now belong to Arizona, but it's clear the Diesel's heart could still belong to LSU, 'cause he refused to answer who he'd root for if the two school's happen to play each other.

We got the big man out in NYC and talked to him about Shareef finally picking a school ... University of Arizona ... and how much Shaq had to do with it.

O'Neal answered ... saying he had nothing to do with that call ... what he DIDN'T answer is who he'd be yelling for if the Wildcats play the Tigers, where of course Shaq is a legend.

Phil Simms says reports he was blindsided by the news he was being replaced by Tony Romo is completely false ... and it's awkward since it was his own son who reported that in the first place.

Here's the deal ... right after CBS made the move to swap out Simms for the Cowboys QB, Phil's son, Chris Simms, went on Bleacher Report’s Simms & Lefkoe Podcast and said he was disappointed in the way things went down.

"I had to tell my dad first, before CBS or anybody, because I found out from an NFL insider," Chris said.

But Phil tells TMZ Sports it just ain't true -- "Of course I knew. I didn't tell him so it was probably my fault."

The good news ... Phil says he's excited for the next phase of his career as an analyst on CBS' "The NFL Today."

The car Aaron Hernandez allegedly used during a 2012 drive-by shooting -- in which he allegedly killed 2 people -- is now up for sale ... on eBay.

Prosecutors referred to the 2006 Toyota 4Runner as the "murder car" Hernandez was driving during the incident.

Of course, Aaron was later found not guilty -- but the person who has the car now is using the fame from the trial to drive up the price of the car.

The seller is a car dealer who says he leased the vehicle to Aaron during the beginning of his NFL career in exchange for autographs and appearances.

The vehicle had been impounded during the investigation and was sitting in a Boston PD impound yard until last week ... when the car was finally released to the owner.

Now, it can be yours if the price is right ... and right now, the price is high -- with bids already over $10,000 since it hit the auction block this week.

The seller says the car still has soot from when investigators fingerprinted the car. The seller says the "infamous piece of football memorabilia" comes with an autographed Hernandez jersey.

WWE legend X-Pac says the capsules he was carrying at LAX were NOT crystal meth -- it was medicine to treat a yeast infection -- and he's 100% confident lab tests will back his story.

TMZ Sports spoke with X-Pac -- real name Sean Waltman -- who says he understands why people might not believe his explanation ... but insists he's neither using nor selling narcotics, period.

The 44-year-old admits he's had issues with meth in the past -- "I was one of the worst meth heads ever" -- but says he's a changed man and prides himself on living a clean life.

Tom Brady says he didn't skip the Patriots' White House visit to diss President Trump -- he wanted to spend time with his mom.

Julio Jones says there's no beef between him and John Wall ... even after the NBA star talked major trash to him on national TV while DESTROYING Jones' Atlanta Hawks.

X-Pac had so much meth on him when he was busted at LAX this weekend, officials say they believe the intent was to sell it overseas ... this according to the police report obtained by TMZ Sports.

As we previously reported, the WWE legend was arrested on April 29 before boarding an international flight to the U.K. -- and now, we've learned it was the airport drug sniffing dogs that did him in.

Turns out, X-Pac -- real name Sean Waltman -- was on a Customs and Border Patrol watch list for narcotics (presumably due to his history of drug-related arrests).

When the wrestler went through customs, his name was flagged and a drug dog was dispatched to search his bags. The dog alerted the humans to a hit and his bags were searched.

According to the police report, officials found a whole bunch of drugs -- including 3 Cannibis chocolate bars, 2 THC liquid cigarettes, 38 meth/Amphetamine capsules. He also had $736.10 in cash.

Officials determined "the large quantity of pills plus the large quantity of U.S. currency are associated with narcotics sales."

He was booked for possession of narcotics with intent to sell -- a felony. If convicted, he could face up to 4 years in prison.

Ciara and Russell Wilson didn't let just ANYONE deliver their precious baby Sienna Princess last week -- the doc on the receiving end of the table is one of the most famous OB/GYN's in the country!

According to Sienna's birth certificate, obtained by TMZ, she was born on April 28 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center -- where all the big Hollywood babies go to leave the womb.

The doc in charge of the delivery is Dr. Robert Katz -- who's known around town as the OB/GYN to the stars. In fact, he's been honored by stars like Halle Berry and Nicole Richie.

And now he can add Sienna Princess Wilson to his list of accomplishments!

Less than 1 month after Todd Heap's daughter was killed in an accident at their home, the ex-NFL star is calling on his fans to help honor her memory ... by celebrating "Hugs from Holly Day."

As we previously reported, Heap's 3-year-old daughter, Holly, was struck by Todd's truck in what law enforcement determined was an unfortunate accident.

Holly would have turned 4 years old on Wednesday -- and now the former Baltimore Ravens tight end and his family are hoping to keep her memory alive through random acts of kindness.

The family is promoting "Hugs from Holly Day" -- hoping to raise money for the Baltimore Community Foundation.

The Heaps are asking people to wear pink, spread love and joy through random acts of kindness and post photos using the hashtag #HugsFromHollyDay.

The Met Gala ain't just for the Kardashians ... a bunch of athletes were there too -- from Tom Brady to Cam Newton ... even a huge NASCAR driver!

The New England Patriots were well represented with Tom, Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola -- and Alex Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez killed it.

Cam Newton wasn't much of a talker -- but his outfit was loud as usual.

Oakland Raiders draft pick Gareon Conley is telling investigators he did receive "brief oral sex" from his accuser on the night of the alleged sexual assault ... but insists it was consensual.

We're told Conley says he was the recipient and that he did NOT force himself on the woman.

The former Ohio State football star is currently being investigated for rape -- after his accuser told police he sexually assaulted her in a Cleveland hotel room on April 9.

Conley's attorney, Kevin Spellacy, says the two did engage in a "consensual sexual event" -- but says it was NOT intercourse.

The accuser told police they did have vaginal sex -- claiming he grabbed her, spun her around and raped her from behind. A rape kit was administered following the incident.

WWE legend X-Pac was arrested at LAX over the weekend after cops say he tried to carry meth and marijuana through customs ... TMZ Sports has learned.

The Boston Red Sox have issued an apology to Baltimore Orioles star Adam Jones after a fan allegedly made racist comments and threw peanuts at the outfielder during Monday night's game.

The 5-time All Star says he was called the N-word "a handful of times" and had a bag of the ballpark snacks thrown at him while playing center field at Fenway Park, he told USA Today.

"The Red Sox want to publicly apologize to Adam Jones and the entire Orioles organization for what occurred at Fenway Park Monday night," Sox President Sam Kennedy says.

"No player should have an object thrown at him on the playing field, nor be subjected to any kind of racism at Fenway Park."

"The Red Sox have zero tolerance for such inexcusable behavior, and our entire organization and our fans are sickened by the conduct of an ignorant few."

The team ejected the fan Monday night, but is still reviewing the incident to determine any further punishment.

Just a few months after calling it quits, the Patriots WR and supermodel Adriana Lima reconnected in NYC Monday night to party together after the Met Gala ... but it's not exactly a reconciliation.

The two were spotted together hitting up Rihanna's after-party at 1 OAK -- where they arrived in the same car.

Our sources tell us things were pretty frosty between the two after they split earlier this year -- but it seems the ice has thawed. We're told they're definitely NOT back together but it's clear they're on much better terms.

Edelman and Lima were not each other's dates for the Gala -- Edelman arrived to the affair with fellow Pats WR Danny Amendola and they sat at Tom Brady's table.

Colin Kaepernick is a hero to ex-convicts and men still behind bars ... so says a community organizer who Colin blessed with a huge donation.

TMZ Sports spoke with Kevin Livingston of 100 Suits For 100 Men, a NYC based company that provides free outfits, haircuts and life skills to men who have been incarcerated at least 5 years.

Kevin says Kaep's girlfriend Nessa put the two men in touch after doing an interview with Hot 97 ... and the NFL QB couldn't have been more generous ... personally delivering 50 custom suits to the organization.

"He was a great partner," Livingston says. "He went above and beyond all expectations to help give these guys a second chance."

"He's a hero in my eyes, he's a hero in the eyes of the guys who are going to be receiving these suits. Colin you're the man to me, you're a hero to the men of South Jamaica Queens."

Kevin also had a message for all the Kaepernick haters out there.

"What are you doing?"
