William and Kate were at the London Marathon Sunday, being good citizens and handing out water to runners -- and this is the thanks they got.

At least the unknown practical joker had the decency to avoid the Duchess's mug.

We're guessing Will was a good sport about it. He's been known to be a happy-go-lucky future king from time to time.

Derek Fisher says Carmelo Anthony needs to be focused on family ... not basketball ... and promises he'll reach out to his former player and help him cope with the separation from his superstar wife, La La.

Derek coached Melo on the Knicks a few years back -- and when we got him out in Calabasas with his GF, Gloria Govan, we had to ask if he'd he heard the news about Melo's marriage.

Interesting question for Fisher (Govan LITERALLY sips tea when we ask) ... but he goes full-on friend, saying Anthony should tune out everything except his family. He also promises to call Melo to offer his support.

Nothing to see here, Matt Barnes.

Vin Diesel Says He'd Beat The Rock Down ... In REAL Fight

If Vin Diesel and The Rock came to blows, Vin is adamant he'd whoop Rock's candy ass all the way back to the WWE ... and he's serious.

Just ask UFC champ Tyron Woodley -- who says he was confronted by Vin (in a non-violent way) at the "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" premiere because Tyron publicly picked Rock to win in a hypothetical cage match.

TALKIN' SMACK

Woodley explained the whole thing on the "TMZ Sports" TV show on FS1 -- saying Vin "pulled up" on him at the premiere and explained why he'd kick that ass.

We're told Vin cited his experience as a bouncer back in the day before he was a movie star.

There was bad blood between Rock and Vin when they were shooting the last installment of 'Fast and the Furious' ... but they've squashed the beef.

James Worthy Fires Back At Kevin Durant ... After KD Trashed Him

VERY DISAPPOINTED

James Worthy ain't backing down from Kevin Durant -- saying the NBA star was not only WRONG when he trashed him on a recent podcast, but claims KD's underhanded allegations could seriously damage his career.

Worthy is upset about a story Durant told on "The Bill Simmons Podcast" -- in which KD says he met Worthy last year and they had a very cool conversation about Durant leaving OKC for Golden State.

But Kevin says he learned a short time later that Worthy trashed him about the move during a TV interview. Durant felt betrayed and called James "shady" and "corny."

But Worthy says Durant's version of the story is simply untrue -- and he was so upset, he tracked down the TV interview in question to prove he's not a two-faced liar.

Worthy says he reached out to the Golden State Warriors in an effort to clear things up with Durant and had hoped KD would set the record straight on a podcast this week, but that didn't happen.

Worthy says he's REALLY upset at KD's agent, Rich Kleiman, for encouraging the NBA star to "go negative."

Still, James says Durant is one of his favorite players and he hopes they can squash the beef.

Stay tuned ...

The former Florida State defensive stud and future NFLer -- he's projected to be a 2nd or 3rd round pick next week -- tells us he practiced before the game ... but was just hella nervous once he got on the mound.

As for where DeMarcus fits in the First Pitch Hall of Shame -- he doesn't think he's the worst of the worst ... because at least he got it to the catcher!

Still ... he should probably stick to football.
