Ex-NFL Star Todd Heap Hits, Kills 3 Yr.-Old-Daughter In Driveway Accident

Former NFL star Todd Heap accidentally hit and killed his 3-year-old daughter while moving his truck in the driveway of his Arizona home today ... according to police.

Mesa Police say they responded to an emergency call for a pedestrian hit by a vehicle around 3:45 PM. Heap's daughter was transported to the hospital ... where she later died.

Heap's 3-year-old daughter was the youngest of his 5 children.

Officials say Heap -- a 2x-Pro Bowl tight end who played 12 seasons for the Ravens and Cardinals -- showed no signs of impairment.

The Arizona Cardinals released a statement on the tragedy, saying ... "Our hearts go out to Todd, Ashley and the Heap family. It is a grief that is beyond words and one which no family should ever experience."

WHAT A RUSH

The 2 protesters who bum-rushed Ryan Lochte during his live season premiere of "Dancing with the Stars" have cut a deal to avoid time behind bars ... but it cost them a fortune.

Sources tell us the judge and the L.A. City Attorney's Office dropped the case after the protesters agreed to pay BBC Worldwide Productions -- which owns 'DWTS' -- and CBS -- where the show was filmed -- $20,000.

Here's the way the law goes ... there's something called a "civil compromise." It means if someone is charged with certain crimes, they can have the charges dismissed if they work out a deal with the victims.

The protesters faced 6 months in jail after being charged with leaving a spectator area and entering upon a stage as well as interfering with a performance -- both misdemeanors.

As we first reported, the protesters went to 'DWTS' because they felt Ryan's bad behavior in Brazil was the reason one of their family members got busted for something unrelated ... out of revenge for the U.S.

Baez says there was "an abundance" of reasonable doubt in the case -- and tells us he's very happy for Aaron and his family now that the former New England Patriots tight end has been exonerated.

So, what's next for Hernandez? Baez says he'll start taking a look at Aaron's other murder case in the hopes of overturning the conviction.

AARON FOUND NOT GUILTY

Aaron Hernandez has just been found NOT GUILTY of murdering two people in a 2012 drive-by shooting.

The jury spent more than 35 hours over 6 days deliberating the case.

Hernandez was only found guilty on one lesser charge -- illegal possession of a firearm. He was sentenced to serve between 4 and 5 years in prison for that conviction.

Prosecutors claimed 27-year-old Hernandez killed Daniel Abreu and Safiro Furtado on July 16, 2012 because one of them spilled a drink on him in a Boston club earlier that night.

The families of both Abreu and Furtado were in the courtroom when the verdict was read.

The ex-New England Patriots player was previously convicted of 1st degree murder and sentenced to life in prison in 2015 for killing semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd.

The acquittal comes almost exactly 2 years after Hernandez was convicted of murdering Lloyd. That verdict was reached on April 15, 2015.

Gilbert Arenas Says Dark Skinned Black Women Aren't Pretty ... Sorta Apologizes

Published | Updated

Gilbert Arenas says he didn't mean to say darker skinned black women aren't beautiful (although that's exactly what he said) and is apologizing for his insulting remarks ... sorta.

This started when Gilbert commented on a meme encouraging women with more African features (darker complected) to be proud of their beauty, saying he didn't think they had much of it at all.

"How black we talking?? Not to be funny can you name a beautiful black woman on the outside ... not brown skin ... like Tyrese black."

He was immediately dragged for his dumbass statement on social media ... and kinda walked it back ... but not entirely, and not without dissing another darker black woman ... Lupita Nyong'o.

"I thought I was saying if you're mixed you're not considered black and beautiful and my kids are dark skinned so I perceived it how I wanted to. I was trying to defend all shades of black but that's what the post was also doing."

"As for Lupita she ain't cute to me sorry ... just like I'm not cute to 95% of you."

Classy as always.

Roddy White Retires ... Officially

Published | Updated

It's officially over for Roddy White -- the NFL wide receiver just announced his retirement from pro football after 11 years with the Falcons.

Now, the WR is hangin' up the cleats officially ...saying, "I'm officially retired from football and welcome the second phase of my life."

He added, "I would like to thank Arthur Blank and the falcons organization for a great 11 years. The city of Atlanta I love y'all so much."

White is now beginning his career as a high school football coach and says, "I'm going to have a lot of fun with these young kids and win some games."

The reality star was in the crowd to support her boyfriend, Tristan Thompson -- but when it came time to leave, she had an arena security officer escorting her out -- and another officer keeping fans at bay.

We're told when nature called, a female security officer even escorted Khloe into the VIP restroom.

Khloe is becoming a fan favorite in Cleveland -- one witness tells us she took a bunch of pics with fans ... you can see her stop to pose with one very excited lady in our video.

Plus, she's also becoming friends with Cleveland Browns star Joe Haden and his wife. They not only socialized during the game, Khloe (along with her sisters, Kim and Kourtney) hit up a local amusement park with the Hadens the night before.

Michael Rapaport Tony Romo SUCKED ... Wake Up, People!

Published | Updated

Tony Romo was GARBAGE ... so says Michael Rapaport who says he can't understand why the Dallas Cowboys QB is being celebrated like a hero.

Rap just went on a tear against Romo, saying, "Why are they parading Tony f**king Romo around like he found the cure for cancer? He didn't even find the cure for the Cowboys."

Rapaport says Romo was so unreliable, opposing teams were always waiting for him to "f**k up" -- "and you always came through in the clutch, Tony. You f**ked up during the regular season, during Thanksgiving and then the playoffs."

"You no long-snap catching, interception-throwing mother f**ker, you."

And he doesn't stop there.

Denver's Brandon Marshall SIGN KAEP ALREADY 'Better Than Every QB that Got Signed In Free Agency'

Published | Updated

Colin Kaepernick is BETTER than every single quarterback who got signed in free agency ... Mike Glennon, Geno Smith, Nick Foles ... this according to Denver Broncos star Brandon Marshall.

Brandon and Colin were college teammates at Nevada -- and Brandon also took a knee as part of Colin's national anthem protest last season.

Well, Marshall is clearly upset Kaep is still unemployed and went to Twitter to vent about it.

"It's time my Brother @Kaepernick7 gets signed. He's better than every QB that got signed in Free agency."

Some players, including Terrell Suggs, feel Kaepernick is being blackballed because of his political activism.

Other people, including Brandon's own boss, John Elway, says that's not true. Elway previously told us he just hadn't taken a hard look at the guy.

He probably should, Denver could use a QB ...

Joel Embiid seems pretty confident he'll lock up NBA Rookie of the Year -- telling TMZ Sports he's got a pretty good shot of taking the award over guys like Dario Saric and Malcolm Brogdon.

Of course, Embiid had a stellar first 31 games, before an injury ended his season. But the way Saric and Malcolm played this season ... it might be close.

But on the way out of Catch in L.A., the Philadelphia 76ers star told us straight-up, "I have a pretty good chance of getting it."

He also made his pick for NBA MVP (not LeBron) and shouted out a pretty lady (not Rihanna).

Ryan Lochte I'll Never Go Back to Brazil ... Ever

NEVER AGAIN

Ryan Lochte's relationship with Brazil is dead ... the swimmer says he'll NEVER go back to the country after his infamous gas station incident at the Olympics.

Here's the thing ... Lochte says he might be banned from the country -- but that's not exactly the case.

The truth is it's still dangerous for Lochte to go back to Brazil since he's still charged with filing a false police report for claiming he was robbed at gunpoint during a night out with Olympic swimmers.

Officials saw it a different way, claiming security guards drew guns on the swimmers after they vandalized a gas station bathroom ... and then urinated in public ... and demanded Lochte's crew fork over cash to cover the damages.

Prosecutors have offered Lochte a plea deal -- essentially a $20,000 fine -- but Lochte hasn't accepted the deal. So, if he does go back to Brazil, he risks being detained and possibly jailed.

But it doesn't sound like that's gonna be a problem since Lochte tells TMZ Sports there's no chance in hell he'll ever return to Rio.
