Guess Roger Goodell was telling the truth about him and Bob Kraft having a "healthy respect" for one another ... because they hung out in NYC Wednesday and TMZ Sports has the photo.

The NFL and the Pats owner were spotted leaving Rockefeller Center around 2:30 PM ET. Bob had a smile on his face as the two chatted away. We're told they were flanked by private security.

Earlier in the day, Goodell went on 'The Herd' where Colin Cowherd asked if Kraft was unhappy with him for the way he handled DeflateGate.

"I wouldn’t be doing my job if somebody wasn’t unhappy with a decision that you make or why you’re doing it," Goodell said.

"Robert and I can disagree about things. We have a healthy respect for one another. But that’s true with any owner. And that doesn’t affect my relationship or the fact that we work together to try to make the NFL better, ultimately."

So ... friends?

Ronda Rousey told the anti-Dakota Access Pipeline activists at Standing Rock that she WOULD return to the front lines of the protest and "get pepper sprayed alongside everyone else."

We spoke with Linda Black Elk -- one of the leaders of the activist group -- who praised Ronda for visiting the protest camps in North Dakota last week and delivering much needed food and supplies.

"She's an incredible person and just so humble," Black Elk said ... noting Ronda's visit was an incredible "moral booster" to the people fighting against the 1,000 mile oil pipeline.

Black Elk says Ronda mentioned that she "still felt like a disappointment" after her loss to Amanda Nunes at UFC 207 and that "everyone was upset with her."

Linda says she told Rousey that she's just the opposite -- "It was very important for me to let her know just how important she is for the Native community in particular."

No word on when Rousey plans to return -- but it's clear she'll be welcomed back with open arms.

Oscar De La Hoya was arrested for DUI in Pasadena, CA Tuesday night ... TMZ Sports has learned.

Law enforcement sources tell us the 43-year-old was pulled over for speeding in a Land Rover around 2 AM and during the stop, officers suspected he was drunk.

We're told Oscar bombed a series of field sobriety tests and was arrested for DUI. He was cited and released to his manager.

Earlier in the evening, Oscar was seen at multiple bars in the area, including Barney's Beanery in Old Town Pasadena where he posed for a pic with a fan.

Oscar has struggled with substance abuse for years -- and has been to rehab for alcohol and drug issues in the past.

U.S. Olympic legend Gabby Douglas has some advice for Usain Bolt after the sprinter was stripped of an Olympic gold medal this week ... GO OUT AND WIN ANOTHER ONE!!

The 21-year-old gymnast -- who has 3 Olympic gold medals of her own -- was at LAX when she heard that Bolt must hand over the 4x100 relay gold Jamaica won during the 2008 Games in Beijing.

FYI, Bolt's Team Jamaica teammate at the time, Nesta Carter, was found guilty of doping -- after a retest of his 2008 sample came back positive for a banned substance.

As a result, the entire relay team must hand back their medals. Sucks for Bolt, who did nothing wrong.

But Douglas has an easy solution for Usain ... don't retire and pick up a replacement gold at the 2020 Games.

Props to Colin Cowherd for asking Roger Goodell the question everyone's thinking -- if Tom Brady wins the Super Bowl, will it be awkward handing him the Lombardi Trophy???

Of course, Goodell waged the DeflateGate war against Brady and ultimately suspended him for 4 games this season ... you can imagine how Brady feels about the situation.

But Goodell had nothing but praise for Tom on "The Herd Live" on FS1 Wednesday -- saying Brady is "one of the all-time greats" and a "surefire Hall of Famer."

So, possible awkwardness? As Goodell put it, "Not for a second."

Good Lord.

Ronda Rousey got political last week -- with a secret run to the Standing Rock Indian Reservation to help protesters fighting against the Dakota Access Pipeline project.

The UFC star teamed up with fellow Olympic judo athlete Pauline Macias and went to the protest site in North Dakota to deliver supplies.

We're told Ronda's group brought fresh fruit, veggies, bread, tents and wood-burning stoves. One source says Ronda didn't want recognition and tried to stay under the radar.

By the way, Ronda was SMILING again -- which is great because we haven't seen a lot of that lately.

As for the protest, the Standing Rock Sioux tribe has led the charge against the 1,000 mile oil pipeline claiming a possible spill could damage important Native American cultural sites and pollute drinking water.

Pauline Instagrammed about the experience with Rousey saying, "I had one of the best road trips of my life with @rondarousey to deliver supplies to the protesters at Standing Rock!"

"This was such an incredible experience, & I can't thank my friend enough for allowing me to be a part of it! #NODAPL #StandWithStandingRock"

Tiger Woods just announced his brand new endorsement deal with a golf equipment company OTHER than Nike ... announcing he'll now play with TaylorMade golf clubs.

Of course, Woods is still one of Nike's main guys ... but they shut down their golf equipment line last year -- forcing Tiger to get into bed with a new club maker.

Woods will still wear Nike clothing -- in fact, he's rocking a Swoosh shirt in his new TaylorMade advertisements.

As for his balls ... Tiger signed a deal with Bridgestone back in December.

Lamar Odom says he's ON BOARD to team up with Smush Parker and Kobe Bryant for Ice Cube's 3-on-3 basketball league ... telling TMZ Sports, "I'm with it!"

The head of one of the largest police groups in the country is calling out Roger Goodell -- saying he has "zero confidence" the NFL commish will punish Pacman Jones for wishing death on a Cincinnati cop.

NBA legend Jerry West was hospitalized Tuesday after a medical scare at an exclusive L.A. country club, TMZ Sports has learned ... but we're told he's doing much better now and has been released.

Multiple sources tell us 78-year-old West was at a private country club when something went wrong. One source says he collapsed. Another says he fell. Either way, paramedics were called to the scene and he was transported to a nearby hospital via ambulance.

The good news ... we're told he's back home and on the mend.

West is currently an executive board member for the Golden State Warriors but spends a lot of time in Los Angeles.

Ronda Rousey has come out of hiding with a bang -- surfacing at a Las Vegas gun store where she applied for a concealed carry permit ... TMZ Sports has learned.

The UFC superstar and her boyfriend, Travis Browne, hit up The Range 702 gun store on Sunday where our gun enthusiast witnesses at the store say Ronda took a special course required to get a concealed carry permit.

Once Ronda applies for the permit, it usually takes around 90 days before she'll get her card in the mail.

We're told Ronda did some shooting at the range -- which is also required for the test -- using a blue Glock 43 9mm pistol.

It's the first time we've seen Ronda out in public since her big loss to Amanda Nunes at UFC 207.
