NBA great Gary Payton will remember the late Craig Sager for his positive personality, courage, and, of course ... his flashy suits.

The Glove -- who grew close to Sager throughout his career in the Association -- says he was heartbroken when he heard that Sager lost his battle with cancer at age 65.

"Craig was always funny. He always wanted to be jokeful ... he was so genuine about us. He liked the players and we liked him. That's what made him so close to us."

Beloved sportscaster Craig Sager has died after a long battle with a form of leukemia.

Turner Sports announced his passing on Thursday. He was diagnosed back in 2014, but continued working for TNT and TBS, covering NBA and MLB games through this past summer ... including a game of the NBA Finals.

He worked for Turner for more than 30 years.

Craig was one of the most popular sports reporters with fans and the superstar athletes he covered -- who loved to playfully mock his fashion sense. Craig was famous for his bold and colorful wardrobe choices on the sidelines.

Ex-NFL player Todd Marinovich is back in rehab ... TMZ Sports has learned.

We spoke to Marinovich's lawyer, Adam Cole, who tells us the former USC star checked himself into a Southern California treatment center this week.

As we previously reported, Marinovich was charged with several crimes -- including meth possession and public nudity -- after cops found him naked in a stranger's backyard back in August.

The ex-QB was scheduled to appear in court this week, but couldn't attend the hearing because he's getting treatment. Cole says he'll give the District Attorney proof that Marinovich is at a rehab facility.

Brock Lesnar was just hit with a 1 year suspension and massive $250k fine for two failed drug tests at UFC 200.

N.Y. Giants star Jonathan Casillas thinks Jim Brown and Ray Lewis' meeting with Donald Trump was a great idea 'cause it opened up lines of communication with the soon-to-be prez.

Casillas -- a 2 time Super Bowl champ -- is aware of the Trump haters ... but says, like it or not, he's gonna be POTUS, so America must get behind him.

"We have to accept him and we gotta be able to support some things that maybe we don't agree with."

As for all the people criticizing Lewis and Brown for taking the meeting ... J.C. strongly disagrees.

WBC Light Welterweight champ Terence Crawford -- who just came off a KO victory on Saturday -- was just hit with a 90 day jail sentence in connection with a disturbance at an Omaha body shop.

Crawford was in front of an Omaha judge earlier Thursday on charges of property damage, trespassing, and disorderly conduct ... all misdemeanors .... and was convicted on two of the three.

The charges stem from an incident where the owner of Extreme Custom Fleet & Auto says Crawford and some buddies forcefully tried to take Crawford's car out of the shop without fully paying for work that was done.

The owner of the shop claimed $3,300 of damage was done to a hydraulic lift during the fracas ... and claimed he felt intimidated by Crawford's presence ... even though the champ never physically made a threat.

Crawford -- widely recognized as one of the top five fighters in the world -- had faced up to six months in jail on each count and a $500 fine.

Floyd Mayweather just upped the ante in his beef with Conor McGregor ... calling him one of the most disrespectful words out there ... a "bitch."

Mayweather hit up Instagram Live ... and ripped into the UFC star, saying "Conor McGregor's a bitch."

Floyd didn't stop there ... he also posted video of C.M. getting choked out by Nate Diaz ... and offered 10 Gs to the person who comes up with the "best caption" for the video.

These latest shots come on the heels of Floyd saying he'd "slap the s***" out of McGregor.

Ex-NFL star Jamal Anderson walked into a gas station convenience store and whipped out his penis in front of the clerk ... according to police in Georgia.

Suwanee PD got a 911 call early Wednesday morning from the clerk at a QuikTrip. The clerk reported a black male had walked into the store early Wednesday morning, slurred something and started handing over money. He started walking around the store. A short while later he walked up to the clerk and took out his penis and started masturbating.

That's when the clerk speed dialed police.

Officers arrived and spoke to the former Falcons great ... who they say appeared intoxicated, and told them he'd been dropped off by friends. The clerk did not want to press charges, so cops tell us they merely issued a ticket for criminal trespass.

Anderson is now banned from the QuikTrip, and if he returns he'll be arrested on the spot.

N.Y. Mets star Jeurys Familia is off the hook in his domestic violence case, cause a judge just dismissed the charge against him.

As we previously reported, Familia was arrested for simple assault back in October after allegedly roughing up his wife during a fight.

Familia, his wife and their lawyers just appeared in a Fort Lee, NJ court to meet with prosecutors. A judge dropped the case after the meeting.

Anyone betting on Ronda Rousey to beat Amanda Nunes at UFC 207 should be shakin' in their boots ... so says former UFC star Chuck Liddell.

TMZ Sports got the Iceman at LAX Wednesday and he painted a worrisome pic of Rousey -- who hasn't fought in more than a year.

Steve Francis and his estranged wife are hammering out a divorce settlement ... even though she's calling him out with allegations of drug abuse.

In divorce docs, obtained by TMZ Sports, Shelby Francis claimed Steve has "severe substance issues" ... and asked a judge to order him to undergo random drug and alcohol testing. She also claims Steve's been to rehab "prior to and during the divorce" ... which was filed in June 2015.

The ex-NBA great has dealt with rampant speculation about possible drug use -- and, in fact, vehemently denied there was an issue when he talked to us last year.

Shelby's lawyer, Chad Pinkerton, tells us the exes reached an agreement through mediation last week. He says final docs haven't been filed, but they're close.

NFL star Jameis Winston and his alleged rape victim have reached a settlement in the civil lawsuit filed against him ... TMZ Sports has learned.

As we previously reported, Erica Kinsman sued the Buccaneers QB in April 2015 for sexual battery, assault and false imprisonment even though he was never criminally charged.

According to court docs, Kinsman and Winston reached an agreement and will file a joint dismissal in the next few weeks.

The details of the settlement are unclear.

Tim Tebow says he could be bringing back his signature move for his baseball career ... telling TMZ Sports ... "Tebowing" could be making a Lazarus-like return.

"Tebowing" was a social media craze a couple years ago ... while Timmy was still an NFL player ... with the whole world kneeling down to mimic Tebow's celebration.

Tim's taking on a different professional sport now ... so when we saw him at LAX Wednesday we had to ask ... is the epic move making a comeback?

Gilbert Arenas got a huge assist from the judge in his child support case ... his monthly payments to his ex were just slashed big time.

Sources close to the former couple tell us ... Gilbert's child support checks to his baby mama, Laura Govan, will now be under $10k a month ... a huge drop from around the $40k he claimed he was paying. Arenas has recently said he's not as rich as everyone thinks ... and apparently there's some truth to that.

Gilbert admittedly has no chill, though ... so he took the opportunity to gloat about his big win in court and troll Laura at the same time.

Sources close to Govan tell us she has no idea why Arenas continues to insult and torment her -- since she's not doing it to him -- but all she wants now is for him to leave her alone.
