Usain Bolt got the VIP treatment at the Drake concert in L.A. Tuesday night -- hanging out backstage with the rapper ... who did his best Jamaican accent with the Olympian.

She might be the best ever ... but Ronda Rousey would LOSE if she does get in the Octagon with Cris "Cyborg" Justino ... so says UFC star Stephen "Wonderboy" Thompson.

TMZ Sports broke the story ... Rousey told Dana White she WANTS to square off with Cyborg -- in what could be the biggest female MMA fight of all-time.

But Thompson says Rousey should think twice -- because Cyborg is no punk ... and when it comes down to it, he thinks she would crush Ronda.

8:00 AM PT -- TMZ Sports spoke with Tolbert who says he tried to pay with a check, but the shop said they would only take cash.

So, he went to the bank and got the money ... in change.

As for the dispute, Tolbert says he NEVER threatened anybody -- but says he firmly believes he was intentionally overcharged by more than $1,000 because he's an NFL player.

Tolbert says his car still isn't running correctly and he'll be taking it to another shop for further repairs.

One last thing ... Tolbert says the shop is slandering him -- and if they don't stop, he'll consider taking legal action.

Here's a jerk move -- Carolina Panthers fullback Mike Tolbert paid an auto shop $3,900 IN COINS after feuding with the owner over the price of a new motor.

It all started when Tolbert went to Motion Lab Tuning to get some work done -- but MT says the place tried to rake him over the coals because "I'm a millionaire." He posted on Instagram calling the owner a crook.

But the shop has now fired back in a Facebook post (likely written by the owner) -- claiming Mike was the real problem ... demanding free work because of his NFL status.

The shop says the dispute got so intense, Mike and a friend threatened him -- so he called police and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg PD banned Tolbert from the property.

However, that wasn't the end of the war ... the owner claims, "In a passive aggressive manner, [Tolbert] thought he would get the last laugh by paying in coins."

"Pretty dumb really. All $3,900 in coins were easily identifiable as they came from a bank in boxes and perfectly counted out. I will say this, those coins will be taken in the boxes they came in and will be taken to a teller at BOA for deposit."

The worst part of the story -- the shop owner says, " I also have to break it to my son who is a fan of Mike Tolbert that he is a real scumbag that doesn't want to pay his bills."

Eddie Alvarez shouldn't worry about his cash flow in his UFC 205 matchup with Conor McGregor -- 'cause if he beats the Irishman, HE'LL BE RICH ... so says Jay Glazer.

Conor ripped into Alvarez at the UFC 205 media event Tuesday -- clowning the guy for not renegotiating his UFC contract after he was tapped for the biggest fight of his life.

But Glazer says it's not that big of a deal ... because a victory over Conor will seal some big paychecks moving forward.

You gotta watch the video ... McGregor goes off about how everyone in the UFC is trying to be like him these days -- but there's one huge difference ... no one's cashing checks as big as him.

During the media event, Conor also bragged that he expects to make roughly $40 MILLION this year ... which will help him achieve his goal of dethroning Cristiano Ronaldo on the top of the Forbes list.

A former LSU football star is standing up for Les Miles ... telling TMZ Sports the decision to fire his old coach was 'disrespectful' and 'shocking.'

We spoke to Jacob Hester, who played under the Mad Hatter for three years in Baton Rouge, and says Miles earned the right to finish out the season.

"I didn't like the way it ended there. He's been talked about for a year and a half maybe being on the hot seat, which I didn't agree with that either."

"Did changes need to happen? They probably did. But that's at the end of the season."

We also asked Hester his thoughts on the speculation Miles could end up at USC.

Sounds like Jerry Jones has a man crush on Jay Z -- praising the guy as one of the coolest people he's ever met ... and saying, "I see what [Beyonce] sees in him."

Robert Griffin III is making it clear ... his marriage is dead -- claiming in divorce docs there is ZERO chance of a reconciliation.

The Cleveland Browns QB filed for divorce from his college sweetheart Rebecca Liddicoat earlier this month -- and in court docs obtained by Bossip, RG3 spells out why he pulled the plug.

"The marriage has become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities between petitioner and respondent that destroys the legitimate ends of the marriage relationship and prevents any reasonable expectation of reconciliation."

And if that wasn't clear enough, remember RG3 tatted his NEW girlfriend's name, Grete Sadeiko, on his arm to hammer the point home.

In the divorce docs, filed in Texas, RG3 also says he wants Liddicoat to have primary physical custody of their 1-year-old daughter ... and he has agreed to pay child support.

However, Griffin notes that he wants to be "joint managing conservators" -- which would give him shared authority to make major decisions in his daughter's life.

So far, Liddicoat has yet to comment on the divorce.

Lawrence Taylor's DUI case just went from bad to worse -- because he was just hit with more severe charges ... and now faces QUADRUPLE the jail time ... TMZ Sports has learned.

Taylor was arrested on Sept. 2nd in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida after crashing into a mobile home and a police cruiser while allegedly drunkenly driving his Bentley.

Following the arrest, Taylor pled not guilty to 1 count of DUI -- which carried a max sentence of 6 months in jail.

Now, TMZ Sports has obtained court docs which show prosecutors have substituted the charge with 2 counts of "DUI causing or contributing to injury to person or property."

Each count carries a max sentence of 1 year behind bars.

LT is due back in court next month.

The protesters who bum-rushed Ryan Lochte on "Dancing With the Stars" could end up behind bars now that prosecutors are hitting them with 2 charges.

We've learned the L.A. City Attorney's Office is charging Sam Sotoodeh and Barzeen Soroudi with leaving a spectator area and entering upon a stage, as well as interfering with a performance -- both are misdemeanors.

As we first reported, the protesters went to 'DWTS' because they blamed Ryan for a family member getting arrested in Brazil.

No one's going to San Quentin -- the ballroom floor got the worst of the protest -- but if convicted, they could get up to 6 months in county jail, and a $1,000 fine.

Marco Rubio took over the Senate floor Tuesday morning in D.C. to pay tribute to Jose Fernandez -- calling the late MLB star "the pride of Miami."

Senator Rubio admitted he never met Fernandez personally -- but felt connected to the pitcher because of their common Cuban American heritage.

"This young man meant a lot to a lot of us for different reasons and different ways," Rubio said.

"And now, just as quickly as he came into our lives, just as he was coming into his own and really, starting to fulfill his athletic potential, and just as we were really getting to know him, he is gone."
