Lil Wayne's Young Money Sports Nabs Another One Signs Teenage NBA Prospect

Published | Updated

We might be waiting forever for "Tha Carter V" ... but Lil Wayne isn't waiting to become a major force in the athletic world ... signing another big named prospect to his Young Money Sports empire.

Sources at YMS tell us Wayne and the crew have inked Terrance Ferguson -- an 18-year-old hoops phenom (check out his highlights below) who just elected to skip college to play pro ball in Australia.

It's a good get ... Ferguson was the 10th ranked player in America last year ... and a projected lottery pick when he's eligible for the NBA Draft (remember, you have to be a year removed from high school).

He's already enjoying the perks of being signed to Wayne ... his first order of business with the crew was to take (smoking hot) Young Money artist Stephanie Acevedo to prom.

Looks like a good decision to us. Very good.

HEAR OUR PLEA ...

Carmelo Anthony did exactly what he promised he would, and got 3 other NBA superstars to help him open the ESPYs with a powerful speech addressing the recent shooting tragedies in America.

'Melo, Chris Paul, Dwyane Wade and LeBron James all stood on the darkened stage -- and each made a personal plea for athletes to join the fight against police brutality and violence against police.

Wade, in particular, seemed to get choked up.

As we told you ... Carmelo was one of the first athletes to react the day after the Dallas police officers were killed by calling on sports stars, politicians and other community leaders to find solutions.

Published | Updated

It's supposed to be about the athletes ... but Gabrielle Union is stealing the damn show from Dwyane Wade at the ESPYs ... showing up in a see-through dress ... and she looks goooooooood.

The stars are all arriving on the red carpet at the Microsoft Theater in L.A. -- including host John Cena, Richard Sherman, Lindsey Vonn (wow!) ... and Craig Sager, who's crushing it a signature ugly jacket.

Sidenote, Jordan Clarkson arrived solo ... no Kendall Jenner, despite the fact they've been dating on the D.L. for several months.

LISTEN TO COPS

"Something I've been told from a very young age is to comply. When a police officer asks you to do something, you do what he tells you to do" -- NFL tight end Ben Watson.

The Baltimore Ravens player appeared on the "TMZ Sports" TV show on FS1 to talk about the recent wave of police violence ... specifically, when it involves black people.

Watson -- who wrote a book on race relations in America -- said the first step to reducing deadly police incidents is making sure people obey and submit to law enforcement ... though he acknowledges black men are on a "shorter leash."

That being said, Watson adds ... "People don't deserve to be shot because they didn't comply."

Draymond Green Accuser Attack Changed My Life Forever ... I Want Him Punished

The man who claims he was attacked by Draymond Green has already lawyered up -- and says he's demanding justice for the "unprovoked, unnecessary attack" that changed his life forever.

Attorney Corey Minor Smith says she's officially representing Michigan State football player Jermaine Edmondson -- who claims the NBA star attacked him outside of a bar early Sunday morning.

"My client is a student-athlete who was punched and assaulted by Mr. Green in an unprovoked, unnecessary attack," Smith said.

"His life has been forever altered by the events of that weekend."

Smith says 22-year-old Edmondson is "fully cooperating with the authorities investigating this unfortunate situation" and welcomes a "full and thorough investigation."

One interesting note ... Smith insists Edmondson was punched in the face by Green -- and not slapped, as suggested by police officers who claim they heard the attack.

Isaiah Crowell Cop Org Accepts 2nd Apology 'It Was Sincere This Time'

Published | Updated

A prominent Cleveland police organization says it has ACCEPTED Isaiah Crowell's 2nd apology over an anti-police Instagram post ... claiming they believe apology #2 was actually sincere.

The Cleveland Police Patrolmen's Association had initially told Crowell to "kiss my ass" after the Browns running back issued a written statement apologizing for the post.

Crowell responded by making an apology video -- in which he admitted he was part of the problem, vowed to be a part of the solution ... and said he would be donating his 1st game check of the 2016 season to the Dallas Fallen Officer Foundation.

Now, CPPA President Stephen Loomis says ... apology accepted.

"I appreciate the apology and we accept it. People are allowed to make mistakes in life. Our problem was that first apology. It wasn’t sincere. But Isaiah stepped up to the plate to make a personal apology, and we definitely appreciate his donation to the Fallen Officers Foundation."

Loomis continued ... "I'd love to work with Isaiah in the future. How cool would it be if Isaiah and I attended community events together to really make a difference in the city? We are missing opportunities that we should be seizing as law enforcement and athletes in the city."

"I’m glad we didn’t have to go the route of boycotting Browns games. We would not have enjoyed that. We wanted to give Isaiah the opportunity to make things right, and he did."

Officials later decided to NOT charge McCoy with a crime due to insufficient evidence. Despite footage from inside the club, the Philly District Attorney said it was unclear who started the fight.

Lamar Odom Strip Club Turn Up After First Class Puking

Published | Updated

Lamar Odom made it to NYC after all and looked fully recovered from his puking session on the plane ... because he beelined it for a strip club.

Lamar was photographed hanging with friends and staffers at CityScapes Gentlemen's Club in Queens on Tuesday night. A far cry from his Monday night -- we broke the story ... Odom was kicked off his Delta flight after vomiting multiple times while attempting to catch a red-eye.

Sources at the club tell us he arrived at 3:15 AM in a white G-Wagon, and chilled in VIP with 3 guys, security, and some chicks. We're told Lamar was not seen drinking.

Queens is LO's home turf and before he supported the local strippers ... he hit up a basketball court to show some love to neighborhood kids.

Yin and yang.
