He's only been a coach for a few days, but Stedman Bailey is already making an impact on the Rams' rookie WRs.

Bailey -- who suffered 2 gunshots to the head in a drive-by shooting back in Nov. -- was waived by the team as a player earlier this month ... but will stay in the organization to work with the coaching staff.

The good news ... the players really like him.

We spoke with Rams' wide receivers Nelson Spruce and Pharoh Cooper -- who praised Bailey as a "student of the game" who's really been helping them out on and off the field.

BTW, a bunch of Rams players -- including rookie QB Jared Goff -- were all at Woodworth Elementary Wednesday to help build a brand new playground, funded by the Rams.

The players weren't just standing around -- they were actually getting their hands dirty and doing real work.

Another bad ass notch on Adrianne Haslet's belt ... 'cause the woman who lost her leg in the Boston Marathon bombing -- is now BOXING with George Foreman's son!

Haslet was training with George Foreman III earlier this week at his EverybodyFights boxing gym in Boston.

FYI, GF3 was a pretty good boxer himself -- racking up a 16-0 record as a pro.

It's another impressive feat for Haslet -- who already completed the 2016 Boston Marathon on a prosthetic leg ... and picked up ballroom dancing again after the incident.

Minnesota Vikings WR Laquon Treadwell learned the hard way ... DO NOT let your teammates know it's your birthday when you're a rookie ... or get 60,000 packs of fruit snacks in your SUV.

Treadwell -- a 1st round draft pick this year -- turned 21 this week. LT's teammates gave him a lot of very small, fruity birthday gifts ... and they even loaded them into his SUV.

FYI -- that's around $10,000 worth of fruit snacks.

The good news ... it coulda been A LOT worse -- just ask ex-NBA star Kenyon Martin.

Back in 2010, someone pulled an April Fools prank on Martin -- filling up his Range Rover with BUTTERED POPCORN ... and dude was pissed!!!

We got the audio -- in which you can hear Martin threatening to bring the wrath to whoever pulled the prank 'cause the butter ruined his expensive interior ... angry, angry stuff.

So yeah ... Treadwell got off easy!

UFC champ Michael Bisping says he wants to fight Dan Henderson ... before Hendo dies of old age.

It's pretty funny stuff ... Bisping is adamant he's not planning on retiring anytime soon -- telling TMZ Sports he wants to fight everyone from Hendo to GSP and even Rockhold again before he hands it up.

But the best part of the video is all the shade he throws at 45-year-old Henderson -- "Henderson's gonna die soon, so I might as well knock him out. I might as well put him in the grave."

Douglas -- who was a key member of Johnnie Cochran's legal team -- says he heard Stephen A.'s statements on "First Take" ... and says, "It's one of the least intelligent things I've ever heard uttered from his mouth."

Of course, Smith confidently claimed, "If it was me [prosecuting O.J.], there's no way in hell Johnnie Cochran would have beaten me with the evidence that they had ... I'm not even a lawyer."

Now, Douglas says he loves and respects Smith -- but was adamant, "I don't think there's any chance in hell that he could ever do anything near as talented as Marcia Clark."

Of all the huge stars supporting Donald Trump (Mike Tyson, Dana White, Tom Brady, etc) ... Donald Trump's son says the coolest person on the team ... is Bobby Knight!

The college basketball legend famously joined Donald at a rally in Indiana back in April -- and Donald's son, Eric Trump, says he's super stoked about it.

"Bobby was a great guy," Eric said ... calling him a "consummate winner" who probably has a lot in common with Donald.

Ware reconnected with Mirage -- an R&B group he joined as a teenager -- for a special performance at the "A Taste of the Broncos" charity fundraising event at Mile High Stadium in Denver.

The event raised close to $100k for Food Bank of the Rockies -- which helps feed the needy.

Helluva weekend for ex-NBA star Kenyon Martin -- who got married on a YACHT ... off the coast of Miami, TMZ Sports has learned.

Martin tied the knot with his girlfriend Shakira Watson -- who went the non-traditional route and rocked a black wedding dress.

After the ceremony, the couple partied with some of the closest friends -- including ex-NBA star Al Harrington.

Lawrence Taylor says he did Joe Theismann a HUGE FAVOR by snapping the QB's leg back in 1985 ... and he's dead serious about it.

LT was speaking at the Bronko Nagurski Charlotte TD Club Luncheon in North Carolina on Tuesday when he was asked how the incident impacted his life.

Instead, LT explained how it made Joe's life WAY BETTER.

He also made fun of the Washington Redskins quarterback for the way he "screamed like a girl" at the time of the injury.
