Draymond Green was asked to throw out the first pitch at Monday's Oakland A's game -- but respectfully declined ... this according to a rep for the A's.

With the Golden State Warriors star serving a 1 game suspension -- and unable to be in the arena for Game 5 of the NBA Finals -- Green said he would be attending the A's game, located right next to Oracle Arena.

TMZ Sports spoke with A's Director of Corporate Communications, Catherine Aker, who confirmed Green will be in the stadium ... but doesn't want to make a spectacle.

"We extended an invitation to Draymond to throw out the first pitch and he declined. He would prefer to keep a low profile while at our game."

UFC superstar Daniel Cormier has a strong message for the LGBT community -- you are not alone.

Cormier was out in NYC promoting his fight with Jon Jones at UFC 200 -- when he opened up about the terror attack in Orlando.

"We gotta take care of each other," Cormier said ... "We have to be there to support each other in these situations as Americans, as human beings, as people."

Pittsburgh officials are hailing its citizens for celebrating the Stanley Cup "responsibly" Sunday night ... except for the one moron who was arrested for harassing a police horse.

The Pittsburgh Public Safety Dept. says ... for the most part, people celebrated responsibly -- no riots, no pepper spray, no major incident whatsoever.

But there was SOME stupidity.

Firefighters were sent to put out 2 couch fires and a mattress fire ... and cops responded to a 20-year-old male who was "taunting a Pennsylvania State Police horse."

Officials have called off the search for University of Nevada football player Marc Ma -- who is presumed dead after going missing Friday during a paddle board trip on Lake Tahoe.

Ma -- a sophomore defensive end for the Wolf Pack -- was paddle boarding with 5 teammates when high winds caused dangerous swells.

The others turned back and tried to get shore ... but noticed Ma was missing. A search and rescue was launched in an effort to locate Ma but were unable to find him.

The Placer County Sheriff's Office is now calling the search one of recovery, not rescue.

Head coach Brian Polian issued a statement saying the team is devastated -- adding, "Our team has lost a friend and a brother and we are hurting right now. I have no doubt that we will rally together to love and support one another in manner that will honor Marc's memory."

Ben Roethlisberger says he will NOT join Team Trump -- at least, not publicly ... despite Donald's insistence that the NFL quarterback is "with us 100 percent."

While at a rally in Pittsburgh on Saturday, Trump said Roethlisberger was among a number of sports stars who supported his campaign and hoped #7 would join him at the Republican National Convention in July.

But Big Ben says it ain't gonna happen ... telling Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that he will neither endorse nor speak on behalf of Trump because "politics are not his thing."

Former NFL lineman Bryan Robinson -- who spent 14 years in the league -- was found dead Saturday in a motel room in Milwaukee.

Details surrounding his death are slim. Unclear why Robinson was at the motel. The Milwaukee Medical Examiner's office is investigating, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The 41-year-old -- who played for the Bears, Cardinals, Rams, Bengals and Dolphins -- was a solid NFL player. He played in Super Bowl XLIII with the Cardinals in 2009.

"I am completely done with professional football," Thurmond tells us, "It's time for me to pursue other passions."

Those passions ... producing and directing movies. Among the projects ... a music documentary (about Eddie Levert of the O'Jays) and a feature horror film.

Thurmond's not exactly new to the industry, saying, "I've dabbled in film since 2011," but is now 100% committed to the craft ... "The pedal is to the metal in the film space."
