Nothing takes the sting out of being swept in the playoffs like a Justin Bieber concert ... so says NBA superstar Andre Drummond.

The Detroit Pistons star was at LAX -- proudly displaying his VIP backstage pass to Bieber on his backpack from his concert in Michigan on Monday night ... one day after the Pistons were eliminated.

"He's a cool dude," Drummond told us.

AD also says Bieber put on one helluva show -- but it wasn't perfect ... he's still got some room to grow.

12:34 PM PT -- Hayes has pled NOT GUILTY to all of the charges.

The man who shot and killed ex-NFL lineman Will Smith has been charged with 2nd degree murder ... and now faces life in prison if convicted.

The shooter -- Cardell Hayes -- has admitted to shooting Smith during the April 9th incident in New Orleans ... but has said he felt his life was in danger after a road rage argument because Smith was going to get his gun.

Prosecutors sent the case to a grand jury to determine whether there was enough evidence to charge Hayes ... and now we've learned the jury has given the green light.

According to officials, Hayes was indicted for 2nd degree murder, attempted 2nd degree murder (for Smith's wife), aggravated assault with a firearm and aggravated criminal damage to a vehicle.

Hayes was inside the courtroom as the indictment was presented to the judge.

As a result of the indictment, Hayes' bond was raised to $1.75 MILLION. He is still being held behind bars.

The U.S. Olympian who was paralyzed in a freak training accident says he's GETTING BETTER ... and in an emotional new video, says he's lucky to be alive.

As we previously reported, 2-time Olympic high jumper Jamie Nieto fell on his head while training Olympic hopefuls this past weekend ... and suffered major damage to his back.

Nieto has now made a brand new video from his hospital bed -- thanking everyone for supporting him ... including Olympic star Lolo Jones who launched a fundraising campaign to pay for his medical bills.

In the emotional video, Nieto says doctors believe he has a "high chance of getting better" -- which is amazing considering he almost died following the accident.

As for the fundraising, we're told Lolo has raised more than $40k -- which is extremely significant considering Nieto had canceled his health insurance before the accident due to financial struggles.

In just a few hours, Carson Wentz's life will change forever ... so, how does he feel about being thiiiiis close to becoming a millionaire???

Good, duh.

Sugar Ray Leonard just got EVEN MORE protection from a man who allegedly threatened to shoot and kill the boxer and his family ... TMZ Sports has learned.

We broke the story ... Leonard had previously obtained a short-term restraining order against 55-year-old Mark Anthony Francisco ... claiming he's been waging a campaign of terror against the Leonard family since 2008.

Leonard claimed he was receiving terrifying handwritten notes, harassing phone calls and says Francisco even showed up to his home one day.

Thursday, Leonard and his family appeared in court and begged the judge to extend and strengthen the protection order against Francisco -- and the judge obliged.

Hope Ezekiel Elliott's cell phone is on ... because he's become such a big deal, the running back might finally get that long-awaited phone call from Taylor Swift ... at least, that's what Urban Meyer told us.

The Ohio State coach is out in Chicago -- where Elliott is expected to be drafted in the top 10 Thursday night -- when we asked about that famous tweet EE put out back in Sept. asking Swift out to dinner.

Cops weren't buying it ... and the dash cam video obtained by TMZ Sports shows the guy was absolutely hammered.

Now, we've learned Blackmon entered a guilty plea in court Wednesday morning -- and faces serious time behind bars when he's sentenced in June.

For the first time in 30 years, Cal Ripken Jr. is a single man ... because his divorce was officially finalized today.

A lawyer for Kelly Ripken confirmed the split to the Baltimore Sun ... saying, "Kelly has been a great mother to two fabulous children and a wonderful, faithful wife for the duration of the parties' relationship, which lasted more than 30 years."

The lawyer added, "Kelly looks forward to the next chapter in her life, which will be focused on philanthropy and her commitment to promoting women's health, most currently through 'A Woman's Journey' at Johns Hopkins Medicine."

FYI -- Ripken is reportedly worth in the neighborhood of $75 mil ... but the details of the divorce settlement have not been revealed.

Paige VanZant has a major problem with heavyweight boxer Tyson Fury -- telling TMZ Sports his sexist comments about women are completely disrespectful ... and he needs to get his ass kicked.

Fury's been catching hell ever since a December interview in which he said, "A woman’s best place is in the kitchen and on her back."

Wladimir Klitschko blasted the former heavyweight champ -- saying he was a disgrace to the sport of boxing.

Now, VanZant is following suit ... with the UFC fighter saying all she can do is continue to break female stereotypes to silence morons like Fury. Paige also says she's down to beat some sense into him as well.
