Former Laker Devean George's dream of providing affordable housing to the masses is a reality ... and now he wants a little help from the biggest Laker of all, Magic Johnson, to keep the train rolling.

George was at LAX when we asked about the housing development he was working on for low-income families in north Minnesota.

Devean first told us he was planning the project when we shot him back in 2013 ... and now he tells us it's all finished.

But that's not all he tells us ... 'cause now that everything's up and running George says he thinks he can take things to the next level by adding a little Magic (Johnson) to his project.

Olympic champion -- and Subway spokesperson -- Apolo Ohno says Jared Fogle's child pornography scandal definitely rocked the company to its core ... and made it tough for the athletes.

Ohno was at LAX when we asked about the whole terrible ordeal ... and what it was like being down with the company when its face was in the middle of such a disgusting story.

Subway employs a ton of athletes as spokespeople ... and Apolo kept it all the way real about what the scandal did to them ... saying it was definitely a 'tough time' for the company.

Johnny Manziel did not let a pink slip get in the way of a good time ... he partied hard Friday night in West Hollywood at the famed Roxy.

Johnny took in a performance of the band, Strangers You Know, and hung out until 2:30 AM.

The NYC cab driver who REFUSED to allow Kenny Smith into his taxi DID NOT racially profile the former NBA star ... so says the government agency who oversees the drivers.

TMZ Sports sent the clip -- which shows Smith being refused service by a yellow cab driver on Tuesday afternoon -- to the Taxi & Limousine Commission.

Some people -- including Rev. Al Sharpton -- suggested Smith was denied 'cause he's black ... an offense that would not only violate taxi regulations ... but U.S. law.

Using the video, the TLC identified the taxi, and investigated why Smith wasn't allowed in the cab.

A rep for the organization tells us the denial had NOTHING to do with Smith's race ... the driver was simply trying to go home.

"We've been able to confirm that he had just dropped off his last passenger, and did indeed then go off duty. He had no further pickups."

Answer -- They're all highly skilled athletes ... that's according to Rick Fox who says the guys on his League of Legends team deserve as much athletic respect as the Kobes and Shaqs of his NBA days.

Fox was out in L.A. when we talked to him about the only thing he seems to want to talk about these days ... Team Echo Fox ... the competitive League of Legends team he owns.

Looks like there is someone willing to defend Manny Pacquiao's recent anti-gay tirade ... kinda ... fellow Filipino Apl.de.ap of The Black Eyed Peas who says Manny's sentiments were "misunderstood."

Pacquiao made all the wrong kinds of headlines last month when he compared gay people to animals ... then doubled down in bigotry by posting a bible verse suggesting all gays be put to death.

Apl and Manny have been friends for years so when we got Mr. de.ap out on a rainy night in L.A. we had to ask him ... what's wrong with your boy?

We got Marvin out at LAX fresh off signing a five year $40 million contract with Detroit and had to ask ... is he headed up to Motown to be the new Megatron?

Donald first filed to end their marriage back in August -- after he called her a "pig" in open court ... after he sued her for selling the Clippers against his will. Good times these two ...

But now, we've obtained court docs that show Shelly asked the court to throw out the divorce papers.

Both Donald and the judge signed off on the request immediately -- which means V. Stiviano's former sugar daddy is off the market.
