Doc Rivers Blake's a Good Guy Something Positive Will Come from This

Published | Updated

Blake Griffin is no villain -- he's a "good guy" -- so says Clippers head coach Doc Rivers who tells TMZ Sports he's confident something positive will come from the whole Toronto fight saga.

Rivers was leaving Mr Chow this weekend -- when we asked if his opinion on the fight changed now that we know Blake had been drinking in the hours before he attacked Matias Testi last month.

Rivers shook his head 'no' -- and then went to bat for the NBA star ... saying, "He's a grown man ... and he's a good guy."

It's another big endorsement for Griffin -- who appeared to have the support of NBA commish Adam Silver last week ... who also defended BG as a "good guy."

Earlier in the week, Rivers called for people to forgive Griffin by comparing him to a former U.S. president ... saying, "You have to forgive people at some point. I believe that. We built Richard Nixon a library.”

There are two sides to this clip ...

1) Lakers star Nick Young says he wants to be financially responsible and have a small wedding at a courthouse.

2) Iggy Azalea sees it another way -- "He doesn't wanna pay for sh*t."

It's a pretty funny video ... the couple was leaving BOA Steakhouse on Sunset when we asked how the wedding planning is coming along. They've clearly got some decisions to iron out.

BTW, according to The Knot (a huge wedding website) the average cost of a wedding in 2014 was $31,213.

So ... you taking the over or the under on the Iggy & Nick?

Ex-Cowboys Running Back Another Bizarre Arrest

Published | Updated

Ex-Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle has been arrested again -- after an attempt to crash at his ex-girlfriend's Texas home early this morning went terribly awry.

Cops say Randle was driving through Irving County on his way to Kansas -- when he stopped at his ex-GF's home around 3 AM and asked if he could sleep there for a while.

But officials say he was REJECTED from the home -- and the people inside called police.

When cops arrived, they ran a check on Randle and found he had a warrant out for his arrest stemming from a speeding charge ... so, he was arrested and taken into custody.

Bail was set at $359.

It's been a rough couple of years for the 24-year-old -- who was arrested for jacking cologne and undies from a Dallas mall in 2014 and then popped for assaulting a cop at a casino back in November.

Aaron Hernandez Prison Letter Praises Tom Brady ... Blasts Robert Kraft

Published | Updated

Aaron Hernandez raves about his ex-teammate Tom Brady in a new prison letter obtained by TMZ Sports ... but it's clear, he has nothing but disdain for his former Patriots boss Robert Kraft.

We've verified Hernandez sent the note from the Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center on Dec. 10th ... to a female pen pal he'd exchanged letters with in the past.

Aaron -- who's serving a life sentence for murder -- begins his letter on the attack, ripping the woman for criticizing him in her last correspondence ... and suggesting ways she should kill herself.

"Tie a cinderblock to your ankles and jump in a deep body of water," Hernandez writes.

He then suggests, "Buy the most powerful firecracker in the world that's possible to buy, tie it to your face with duct tape, light it and wait for your head to explode."

Hernandez then changes subjects and goes off about his former team -- saying:

"I have a TV in my cell! And yes I still root for my squad and still love all the ones I loved.

The closest I was with was probably Brady and whom I love to death and always will and only hope the best for them. But was cool with Julez, Branch (I f**ked with and got mad love for) and 'the BEST TE ever to walk on a football field' Gronk!"

Hernandez moves from love to hate ... ripping into "fake ass non loyal Kraft who told me he loved me every time he seen me but obviously shows his word ain't sh*t."

Hernandez says no matter what happens to him in prison, he'll continue to support his boys.

"I watch every game faithfully cheering them on and always will cuz I have love for so many of them!"

Mark Cuban Gunning to Start 'League of Legends' Team

Published | Updated

Mark Cuban is setting his sights on "League of Legends" domination -- telling TMZ Sports he's interested in starting his own team to compete against the best in the video game world.

FYI, "League of Legends" is a HUGE business -- with 36 MILLION people who watched the 2015 'LoL' World Championship ... and clearly, Cuban has taken notice.

We spoke with Cuban who tells us he's kicking around the idea of "starting [a team] as the backer and operator" ... which means he would fund the team and be in charge of personnel ... kind of like what he does with the Dallas Mavericks.

"I've played and know a fair amount, but I'm in no rush," Cuban says.

He wouldn't be the first NBA personality to helm a 'LoL' team -- Rick Fox bought one back in December, reportedly spending $1 million on his squad ... and renamed it "Echo Fox."

There's millions of dollars in prize money to be won in global competitions -- and it seems to be getting bigger every single day.

Game on.

Johnny Manziel Ex-GF To Cops ... I'm Worried About Him

Published | Updated

Johnny Manziel's ex-girlfriend told police she was worried about the well-being of the QB after a domestic incident early Saturday morning ... this according to the Fort Worth PD.

The FWPD says they recieved a call around 2 am this morning of a possible assault and made contact with a "23 year old female who stated she was involved in a disturbance with her ex-bf earlier in the evening in Dallas."

As TMZ Sports previously reported, Manziel and longtime girlfriend Colleen Crowley had apparently broken up in recent weeks -- and scrubbed their social media accounts of each other. The report does not mention Crowley by name but her age and information sync up.

Cops say when they made contact with Manziel's ex, she was uncooperative. Then there's this ... cops say Manziel's ex told them she was concerned about "the well-being of her ex-boyfriend." So the FWPD launched a full scale effort to find Manziel -- searching the area with the assistance of an "Air One Unit."

Ultimately cops say they determined Manziel was "safe and in no danger" and now officials are continuing the investigation to determine if a crime was committed.

L.A. Clippers Teammates Upset at Blake 'Letting the Team Down'

Published | Updated

Blake Griffin isn't just in the doghouse with Clippers management -- but multiple teammates are also upset with the NBA star ... with one player telling TMZ Sports, "He let the team down."

We've spoken with several people in the Clippers organization -- including players -- who tell us people are sour on Blake because he acted "selfishly" when he punched the team's equipment manager.

Our sources tell us ... Blake and Matias Testi had been arguing pretty intensely at Sotto Sotto in Toronto -- but it escalated when Testi called Blake a "bitch" ... and Blake felt disrespected.

The players we spoke with say they feel bad for both Blake and Testi -- both are well liked in the organization -- but they're more upset with Blake because his stupid mistake really hurts the team.

Is the situation fixable? From what we're told, yes ... but it's on Blake to win back the team -- and the owner -- who had issued a statement essentially saying Griffin was a disgrace to the team.
