TMZ Sports has obtained explosive video of ex-NFL tight end Desmond Clark GOING BALLISTIC at officials at a Chicago area high school after his son was allegedly mistreated because he's black.

According to police, it all went down on August 29th at Vernon Hills High ... where Desmond's 17-year-old son was blocked from participating in a school lip sync event because of a previous code of conduct violation.

Desmond's son claims an administrator demeaned him in front of other students -- calling him a "criminal" -- so he called his parents who came rushing to the school.

You can see in the video ... Desmond's wife Maria got so HEATED, Desmond had to literally pick her up and remove her from the person she was screaming at.

Desmond -- who played for the Bears from 2003 to 2010 -- comes back into the room and begins to yell. Cops say he was calling out school officials ... claiming his son had been the victim of racism for years and his family was sick of it.

Several people in the room gave Desmond an ovation at the end of his rant.

Eventually, cops arrived to the scene and spoke with the Clarks for more than an hour. They left that day without incident ... but Desmond and his wife were hit with criminal charges in the following days.

Both Desmond and his wife were charged with disorderly conduct -- Maria was also hit with an assault charge. They were arrested on September 11th and were later released.

They have since pled not guilty and are due back in court later this month.

Desmond has since been banned from school grounds -- his lawyer says, "They're afraid of him because he's a big black man."

At least one Philadelphian has Chip Kelly's back ... and it might be the biggest one of all -- Sylvester Stallone who's begging the city NOT to throw in the towel on the football coach just yet.

With the Eagles nursing a 1-3 record and the offense looking more like Glass Joe than Rocky ... Stallone says things may be looking bad, but Philly has always been an underdog city ripe for a comeback.

"Give him time to develop. It's a new time. It's a new era," Stallone says ... "I don't think it's time for Chip's ahoy yet."

There's more ... Sly also says Chip might wanna take Congressman Bob Brady up on his offer and drink from the Pope's water cup.

Just days after threatening Kevin Durant on national television, ESPN star Stephen A. Smith tells TMZ Sports things are somehow cool between him and the basketball player.

Smith was leaving the SiriusXM radio studio in NYC when we asked if there's been any movement in their relationship since the epic, "You really wanna start something with ME?" moment on Monday.

"Kevin Durant and I are just fine," Smith said ... "Just fine."

That may be ... but probably don't expect to see these two getting beers together anytime soon.

Jessica Mendoza -- the 1st woman to announce an MLB playoff game -- says she's well aware of the radio host who attacked her Tuesday night -- but says he's "ignorant" and not worth her time.

TMZ Sports spoke with the Olympic softball legend who says she expected to have some haters when she broke the gender barrier by calling the Yankees vs. Astros game ... and tried her best to mentally prepare.

"When I did my first game on August 24th, I remember prepping myself. I remember saying, 'No woman's been in the booth. They're going to attack you.'"

Enter radio host Mike Bell, who's been suspended by his station after referring to Mendoza as "Tits McGhee" on Twitter and essentially saying a softball player has no business calling a MLB game.

"I had someone send me the link," Mendoza says ... "Just before I clicked on it, I said to myself, 'I don't want to open it. If I do, he wins.' I didn't want to give it my time, because if his objective was to get to me, I didn't want to give him that."

"At the end of the day, I don't care about the ignorant people. It's one thing if he attacks me because he didn't like the job I did. That I can understand."

Not many people have the balls to threaten Rob Gronkowski -- but TNA star Robbie E is going after the NFL star -- claiming Gronk stole his wrestling nickname and now he's gotta pay!!!

Robbie says he's frickin' livid over a wrestling-style promo Gronk made this week in which he calls himself, "Robbie G" -- accusing Rob of the worst thing anyone can be accused of ... blatant rip-offery.

"I never thought an NFL player from the New England Patriots Rob Gronkowski would have to try and steal my name bro," Robbie says.

"So here's the deal ... I'm gonna beat you worse than the Dallas Cowboys are gonna beat you bro."

Ronda says it all went down at the Cannes Film Festival in 2014 -- where Ronda and her 16-year-old sister say they saw Bieber at a media event and approached him for a photo.

Ronda tells Cosmopolitan.com she thought Bieber would be open to the pic since they were all at a media event and "everyone's taking pictures today."

The ex-NBA superstar has filed a lawsuit against Laura Govan -- claiming she concocted a diabolical scheme to humiliate him on a global scale by making everyone think he's rotten in the genitals, even though she knows he's not.

According to the docs, obtained by TMZ Sports, Arenas claims Govan got super bitter when he dumped her ... so she decided to write up an email to him chock full of nasty allegations and then leak it to various gossip websites knowing they would run it.

In the email, Arenas claims Govan wrote, "When I left you it was because I couldn't take the STDs."

Gilbert is adamant in his lawsuit the accusation is FALSE -- and "Govan knew it to be false when it was made."
