It's the question everyone wanted to ask ... and Matt Lauer finally did -- does Caitlyn Jenner golf from the women's tee ... or the men's?

It's an interesting question considering Bruce Jenner (when Caitlyn was Bruce Jenner) was a beast on the links ... and had a reputation for RIPPING tee shots.

But during their golf course interview on the "Today" show Wednesday -- Caitlyn states the obvious ... she's a lady, and therefore plays from the women's tee.

Matt playfully objected, saying it was unfair ... so Cait offered to play from "the tips" (the furthest tee) ... essentially bragging that she'd beat Matt's ass from anywhere on the course.

UFC legend Chuck Liddell says watching a Floyd Mayweather fight is a SNOOOOOZEFEST ... telling TMZ Sports he can't stand bouts where guys aren't trying to destroy each other.

Chuck was at the Arclight Theater in L.A. when he told us he respects Floyd -- "he makes a lot of real good guys looks stupid" -- but says his fighting style basically puts him to sleep."

"I'm not a big fan of guys that go out and just score enough points to win a round, Chuck says ... "I wanna watch a guy go out and try to take someone out."

The incident all went down at Republic nightclub this weekend, according to WWLTV in New Orleans ... which is reporting the New Orleans Police Department is already on the case.

According to the report, Jodan allegedly had some words with the female accuser and then slapped her butt. Her boyfriend reportedly confronted Jordan in the bathroom and a "minor scuffle" ensued.

The couple filed a police report ... which also says Jordan sprayed them with champagne inside the club.

As we previously reported, Kansas State suspended its band leader over a formation that many believe shows the rival Kansas Jayhawk performing oral on a phallus ... despite claims from the band that the wiener was really the Starship Enterprise.

Well, Captain Kirk is pissed -- because he thinks the image in question is CLEARLY his old whip ... and he's mad at the leaders of the BIG 12 conference for allowing KSU to punish the band.

Shatner tweeted, "I think it's time for the @Big12Conference leaders to step down and get their eyes checked. What a travesty!"

When asked if he really saw the ship when watching the performance, Shatner added, "Yes! Did you see the plan for the formation? Its exactly this."

Wanna know what Larry Merchant WON'T be doing on Saturday night?

Watching Floyd Mayweather fight Andre Berto ... 'cause the legendary boxing commentator says that any Mayweather fight that doesn't involve GGG is a total waste of time.

Merchant was out in L.A. recently when we, of course, had to ask for his expert opinion on the huge fight (with the not so huge buzz) in Vegas this weekend.

That's when Merchant WENT IN on Floyd ... saying he won't watch because Berto is not a "serious opponent," saying that Floyd is afraid to fight the guy everyone wants to see him battle ... GGG.

BTW, it's not like Gennady Golovkin is afraid to fight Floyd -- in fact, he recently appeared on "TMZ Hollywood Sports" and called out the champ ... saying he'd beat Floyd's ass AND put on a show!

TMZ Sports has obtained the 911 call made by the fiancee of Cleveland Browns offensive line coach Andy Moeller ... in which she claims he strangled and beat her ... and it wasn't the first time it happened.

During the call, the woman is clearly distraught and out of breath -- and in the process of fleeing Andy's house, where she had been staying while visiting from Maryland.

She tells the operator, "[Andy] just tried to strangle and beat me. I'm leaving the premises and I gotta get out of here quickly."

During the call, the woman says the two were engaged -- "Not anymore though."

As for what triggered the incident, the woman claims she was talking to her son on the phone when Moeller told her to "shut up" ... and then got violent.

"I kept telling him to stop and not to hurt me."

As we previously reported, cops responded to the scene -- but didn't see any evidence of an injury. Hours later, the woman told officials she no longer wanted to press charges against Moeller.

Kansas State University has come down hard on the director of the marching band ... suspending the guy for using a formation that looked like the rival Kansas Jayhawk was performing oral sex.

After video of the formation from Saturday's KSU vs. South Dakota football game went viral -- the director claimed the formation was supposed to be a battle sequence featuring the Starship Enterprise attacking the KU Jayhawk -- KSU's biggest rival.

Sure.

Still, as our friends from BSO pointed out ... the school has decided to punish the band -- suspending the director for one game and fining itself $5,000 which will be paid to the Big 12.

Sucks for them.

It's not often Gilbert Arenas and his ex-girlfriend Laura Govan agree on anything these days -- but they're BOTH fired up after Gilbert's ex-personal assistant was found guilty of stealing MILLIONS from the NBA star.

A little background ... John A. White was convicted last week of jacking $2.1 mil from Arenas between 2006 and 2012 ... and faces up to 20 years in federal prison.

So, when we saw Laura -- who knew White well -- we had to ask how she felt about the guy now. She summed it perfectly ... "Karma's a bitch."

He's calling it "The Return" -- Victor Cruz's comeback after missing most of last season to a knee injury ... and this weekend, his family threw the NY Giants receiver a massive mansion pool party to send him off!

We're told Vic's mom was the driving force behind the shindig -- and Victor was so touched, he gave a speech assuring people he was going to be better than ever this season!

If you recall, Cruz went down in Week 6 last year ... tearing the patellar tendon in his right knee. It was brutal.

BTW, Vic also got a custom "The Return" cake, and "The Return" balloons ... and guests played a trivia game about Vic's career.

Unfortunately for Vic, he's still dealing with an injury to his calf ... so his "return" might be postponed until Week 2 or 3.

The cops who responded to an alleged assault involving Cleveland Browns offensive line coach Andy Moeller say they observed NO INJURIES on the female accuser ... this according to the police report.

TMZ Sports obtained the docs ... which shows the Berea Police Department got a call from a woman on Saturday night claiming she was assaulted by Moeller.

When cops arrived to the home there were "no initial injuries observed." The woman asked cops to take her to a nearby hotel ... and they obliged.

According to reports, the accuser is a female guest of Moeller's who was visiting from Maryland.

Cops say hours later, the accuser contacted them again and insisted she sustained an injury that was not initially visible -- and said she wanted to pursue charges.

But when cops went back to the hotel to follow up, the woman changed her mind and decided she didn't want to move forward with a case.
