UCLA Football Star Arrested Allegedly Jacks Uber Driver

UCLA football star Ishmael Adams -- considered one of the best cornerbacks in the country -- was arrested this weekend after allegedly robbing an Uber driver ... right in front of a police station!!

A spokesperson for UCLA confirmed the 21-year-old was busted at 3:30 AM on Sunday morning for "allegedly using force to take a cell phone from an Uber driver."

The incident took place right in front of UCPD headquarters, this according to the Daily Bruin.

Officials tell us Adams was booked and is being held on $100,000 bail.

Cops say the Uber driver sustained minor injuries.

UCLA has a game on Saturday -- unclear if Adams will be on the field ... but we're guessing it's highly unlikely.

A deputy opened fire on a man outside the WWE's training center in Orlando -- seriously injuring the guy ... who has a history of bizarre incidents at the WWE.

An Orange County Sheriff's deputy confronted Armando Montalvo at the WWE Performance Center on Monday afternoon. The situation reportedly turned violent, and that's when the deputy fired.

According to docs, obtained by TMZ, the wrestling org. got a restraining order against Montalvo earlier this month after a string of violent run-ins at the facility. Earlier this summer, the WWE says Montalvo spread his feces and urine on the building. He even posted video of himself mixing the human waste and reduced fat milk in a bucket.

On multiple occasions ... he allegedly showed up in a wrestling outfit, banged on windows, and threatened to kick everyone's ass because they wouldn't hire him. One of the times he was swinging a large chain, and police had to subdue him at gunpoint.

Just 5 days ago, Montalvo posted a video of himself outside the building saying he was going to go ask for a job. He said, "What's the worst they can say?"

Montalvo had to have surgery after Monday's shooting.

Robert Griffin III Teammates Applaud Benching 'Now We Can Start Winning'

Several members of the Washington Redskins tell TMZ Sports ... they're PUMPED the team is benching RG3 ... with one player saying, "Now we can start winning games."

We spoke with a handful of Redskins players -- all of whom spoke on the condition of anonymity -- and they were all on the same page ... they've been wanting the move for a while.

One player told us, "We're relieved. This is good for the team."

Another player was more blunt ... saying, "We have a better chance of winning with [Kirk Cousins] than Robert Griffin. Sometimes teams need a change and we obviously did."

Even the defense is excited -- with one starter saying, "The team is excited with the change. We are all looking forward to Kirk leading us this season."

As for Griffin, one player tells us it's not personal, it's just business -- "Robert is a professional. He will be ready when his number is called."

NFL's Sheldon Richardson Pleads Not Guilty In Alleged Bentley Chase

Sheldon Richardson's digging in his cleats ... pleading NOT GUILTY to resisting arrest stemming from an incident where he allegedly led cops on a high speed chase in his Bentley.

Cops say the NY Jets defensive lineman was clocked at 143 MPH and blew through a red light while racing another car in St. Louis on July 14th ... with a 12-year-old child in the backseat of his ride ... with a gun in the car.

Richardson -- who's currently suspended from the Jets for a failed drug test -- was ultimately charged with resisting arrest, failure to have license plate lights, excessive speeding, running a red light and following too closely. He pled not guilty to everything.

If convicted, Richardson could face time in county jail ... plus fines. He's due back in court October 5th.

After an epically bad first attempt, the sketch artist in the Deflategate court battle has taken another crack at Tom Brady ... and it definitely resembles someone from Boston ... just not the QB.

We can all agree ... the new pic is an upgrade -- we're just not sure the guy in the pic would ever be able to score Gisele ... especially because he's missing a chunk out of his right arm.

We spoke with the artist, Jane Rosenberg, who admits the work isn't great ... but says she "had very little time" and was sketching from a distance. She told us the set up was a "court artist's nightmare."

Rosenberg says she practiced drawing Brady after the first sketch -- but she only had 5 minutes to bang out the pic.

Hellofa move from New York Giants WR Victor Cruz this weekend ... when he stopped his pal outside of a NYC nightclub and gave him an impromptu DUI test to make sure he wasn't going to drive drunk.

Cruz and his pals were leaving Club Opus around 3:45 AM on Sunday -- when Victor tells his friend to "walk 3 steps" to prove he was sober.

Unclear if Cruz felt his friend passed the test -- but he definitely let the rest of the group know they should keep an eye out for their buddy.

The group eventually left -- and it didn't appear as if the friend was going to drive ... so props to everyone involved.

BTW -- Victor's NY Giants took on the NY Jets hours later at 1 PM ... but Victor is injured and didn't play -- so don't freak out too much over the fact he was out partying.

Michael Sam Hitting Bars ... Not QBs

Just two weeks after Michael Sam walked away from football to "refocus" -- he's resurfaced at several bars ... including one of the hottest clubs in West Hollywood ... TMZ Sports has learned.

Sam hit up the world famous Abbey on Friday night -- where he was seen socializing and hanging out like any other guy at the bar. He even took pics with fans.

The very next night, he was back out on the town -- we spotted him leaving Tortilla Republic ... a hip Mexican joint famous for its jalapeno margaritas.

Last week, Sam was also at the bars -- only in Dallas -- hanging out at a place called The Round-Up ... where it was more of the same ... hanging out with fans and socializing.

Now, we're told he hasn't been getting hammered or doing anything wild at the bars -- it's just interesting to see him taking in the nightlife after recently tweeting that he wanted to "refocus" so he can get back to football.

As we previously reported, Sam quit his CFL team on August 14th and said he became concerned with his mental health.

Hours before he tied the knot, NBA superstar Russell Westbrook hit up 1 OAK nightclub on the Sunset Strip with some of his famous friends ... and TMZ Sports has the footage.

Westrbrook -- sporting a pretty sweet suit (with a pocket square) -- had a posse with him that included Kevin Durant.

But don't worry, despite the fact Westbrook's fiancee was nowhere to be seen, sources in the club say the guys were just having a great time by themselves -- "No funny stuff."

He left the club around 2 AM -- and hours later, got married on Saturday at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

The Kardashians may have bought themselves another round of fireworks ... in court.

Twelve Marina del Rey homeowners -- including several celebs -- have banned together and will file a small claims court lawsuit against Khloe and Kris for terrorizing an untold number of residents, who thought their city was under attack. Turns out it was a massive fireworks show at the stroke of midnight Wednesday to celebrate James Harden's birthday just outside the breakwater.

Each resident will demand $7,500 ... the max allowed in California small claims. As for their damages, one homeowner says her kid freaked out. Another says she has MS and her condition has worsened since the incident. They all say they suffered emotional distress.

The people suing say money is not the object. They want to come face-to-face with Khloe, Kris and the others and confront them for conduct they say was rude and supremely selfish. The reason they chose small claims ... lawyers aren't allowed, so the famous family will have to appear.

NBA's Nick Young Launches 'Official Inquiry' To Join Australian Olympic Team

Nick Young wasn't joking around about wanting to compete for Australia's Olympic basketball team -- 'cause the NBA star's camp has formally contacted Aussie officials to get the ball rolling ... TMZ Sports has learned.

Young -- who's famously engaged to Australian superstar Iggy Azalea -- has recently been floating out the idea to compete with Australia, but everyone thought he was just goofing around.

But we spoke with a top official for Basketball Australia who tells us, "Nick's representatives have been in contact with an 'official inquiry.'"

The official told us Nick would have to become an Australian citizen to be eligible for the team -- and the process was thoroughly explained to Young's camp.

For the record, it's not an easy process -- according to the official, Young would have to start by living in Australia for "an extended period of time."

And after that, Basketball Australia tells us there's no guarantee Young will make the squad -- "He would be considered for selection on MERIT like everybody else."

Young is already drumming up support from famous Australian hoops stars including Golden State Warriors player Andrew Bogut -- who suggested Iggy could also rap the National Anthem.

And get this -- Young says he already has the perfect nickname ... Swaggy Dundee.

WWE Superstar Dean Ambrose Fan Attempts Sneak Attack After Smackdown

Dean Ambrose, one of the giants in the WWE, was almost attacked during a taping of Smackdown ... attacked by a guy some say was holding a sharp object which at least one fan says was a knife.

It happened right after the show in Providence. You see the would-be attacker come right for Ambrose, but a quick-thinking security uses a wrestling move of his own, body slamming him to the ground.

It's unclear what happened to the guy or what if anything he was clutching.

Dean was unharmed.
