Mike Vick is a Pittsburgh Steeler ... inking a 1-year deal with the team moments ago ... TMZ Sports has learned.

As we previously reported, Vick flew to Pittsburgh this morning for a workout and a physical and the team liked what they saw -- so they signed him to a deal.

Vick had received offers from multiple teams -- but we're told he felt the Steelers were the best fit.

This will be Vick's 13th season in the league.

If the Lakers are flirting with the idea of signing Metta World Peace, it's definitely a surprise to him.

Earlier this week, NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Lakers have been talking with Metta's reps about a possible comeback ... though no official deal was on the table.

But when we asked Metta about the report in Hollywood last night, he told us he hadn't heard anything about that.

That being said, Metta said he's "absolutely" down to rejoin the Lake Show if Jeanie Buss wants him back -- insisting he's still ready to compete in the NBA because "basketball is easy."

That's when Wade gave out some FREE FINANCIAL ADVICE -- when you're out to dinner with rich people, don't split the bill ... play the credit card game!!!

1) Everyone puts their credit card into a hat
2) The server pulls one out
3) That person pays the ENTIRE bill

12:45 PM PT -- Schilling just issued the following apology: "I understand and accept my suspension. 100% my fault. Bad choices have bad consequences and this was a bad decision in every way on my part."

11:40 AM PT -- ESPN has officially yanked Curt from his assignment covering the Little League World Series in the wake of his Twitter post.

The network issued a statement saying, "Curt’s tweet was completely unacceptable, and in no way represents our company’s perspective."

"We made that point very strongly to Curt and have removed him from his current Little League assignment pending further consideration."

Curt Schilling believes radical Muslims are as serious of a threat to the world as the Nazis -- and says the numbers prove it.

The NBA has slapped the L.A. Clippers with a $250,000 fine for underhandedly trying to recruit DeAndre Jordan back to the team ... but the league claims the shady activity went down BEFORE the famous house lockdown.

According to the NBA, the Clippers violated league rules during a presentation to Jordan on July 2nd -- in which the team tried to entice DJ into resigning by dangling a potential 3rd party endorsement guarantee in addition to his NBA contract.

It's unclear exactly which company the endorsement would have been with -- but the fact it was included in the presentation at all is a big no-no under league rules.

In the end, the NBA ruled that the move had NO BEARING on Jordan's ultimate decision to resign with the Clips ... which probably had more to do with Blake Griffin, Doc Rivers and others racing to his Houston home, locking the doors, and giving him the hard sell.

"Sugar" Shane Mosley won the first round against Don King -- a judge refused to let King shut down Mosley's comeback, but in the process also crapped all over the fight.

The ruling came down in federal court in Miami where King failed to get the injunction he sought ... believing Mosley's opponent, Ricardo Mayorga, is still under contract with him. The judge said allowing the fight would not damage Mayorga's career in the future ... because his career is almost over.

The judge said of the 41-year-old boxer ... "The undisputed evidence is that Mayorga is not ranked, that he is not at the peak of his physical capabilities and that whether he will participate in any future bouts is purely speculative."

King can still try to prove he has a valid contract with Mayorga, but it won't affect Saturday night's fight at the L.A. Forum ... and, by the way, sounds like there are plenty of seats available.

Caitlyn Jenner eschewed the reality cameras and any sort of glitz or glamour to practice her swing Monday ... at a plain old public golf course.

Jenner showed up at the Westlake Golf Course around noon and stayed for an hour. We're told she mostly kept to herself and worked on her short game and practiced off the tee at the driving range.

We're told Caitlyn -- who was dressed very casually -- was pulling clubs from a golf bag with "Bruce Jenner" emblazoned on it.

Caitlyn, not surprisingly, was cranking the ball farther than any of the other players ... men and women.

When Caitlyn decides to get serious again, she'll have to re-register her handicap with the USGA as a woman. Bruce played at a very high skill level and Caitlyn will probably improve her handicap because of her gender.

USC football coach Steve Sarkisian says he will get "treatment" -- after a drunken incident at a USC football event .... but he insists he's not an alcoholic.

Sarkisian just addressed the media and again apologized for his drunken behavior Saturday night -- where he cussed and trashed PAC 12 schools to a packed crowd.

Sarkisian says he mixed booze with medication that night -- which caused him to act differently. He would not name the medication he was on.

As for the treatment he will be receiving, Sarkisian was not clear -- but said, "I don't know that I need rehab."

He also says he will not drink alcohol for the rest of the football season.

Sark added, "The moral of the story is if you mix medication with alcohol, you say things or do things you regret."

And get this ... the USC players punished Sarkisian by making him do a "hard lessons" physical workout session, generally reserved for when players screw up.

Drake is getting a second bite of the apple that is Serena Williams -- but now that they're back on and popping, Serena's guard is up for one reason ... best summed up in one word: THOTs.

Sources close to Serena tell us she's been into Drizzy ever since they first hooked up in 2011, but that ended badly because he had his eyes on a few other chicks at the same time. Let's face it, Drake's game with strippers and Instagram models is legendary.

We're told Serena's willing to give him another chance because they have a "good vibe" -- which was on full display in the pics TMZ posted of their dinner in Cincinnati. Still, friends are warning her to be careful she doesn't get hurt again.

Our Drake sources say it's different this time -- he treats her with more respect than his other dates because Serena's a superstar in her own right. Translation: He doesn't have to worry about her using him for fame.

We're told she digs him showing up at her matches, and holds her family section tix for him. They're trying to take it slowly, but it's obvious from pics and videos ... they're crushing hard. Again.

Things are moving pretty quickly between Michael Vick and the Pittsburgh Steelers ... with sources close to Vick telling TMZ Sports the QB hopes both sides can reach a deal by "the end of the day."

Our Vick sources tell us ... the QB had received "multiple offers" from NFL teams, including the Steelers -- but he really liked what Pittsburgh is bringing to the table.

Vick flew out to the Steel City this morning to meet with the team.

Jon Stewart -- whose old job was safely positioned behind a desk, never once attacked by a musclebound thug -- was powerslammed by John Cena last night ... hard.

The former "Daily Show" host appeared on WWE's "Monday Night Raw" where he was confronted by Cena ... who was still pissed at Jon for hitting him with a steel chair at SummerSlam this weekend.

They argued. Cena got mad. And then picked up Stewart ... twirled him around like a rag doll ... and then punished him with his famous finishing move, the Attitude Adjustment.

Fake or definitely fake ... getting thrown to the mat like that has GOT to hurt.
