Oscar has been locked up for 8 months for killing his girlfriend back in 2013 -- and a parole board recently moved to release him in 2 months to house arrest ... so he could stay in a nearby mansion.

That is, until a judge stepped in this week and blocked it after a public outcry.

"You gotta be in jail for longer than 8 months if you kill somebody. It's gotta be years and years and years of you to be in jail and think about what you did."

Some more good news for embattled NBA star Ty Lawson ... who just got some dap from the judge presiding over his DUI case in Colorado.

Long story short ... the Houston Rockets star entered rehab last month following a DUI arrest in Los Angeles .... which came 6 months after a DUI arrest in Denver.

There was a hearing in his Colorado case today -- and in the judge's notes, he wrote that Lawson has been making "excellent progress" in the case.

Lawson's challenge will be to keep his nose clean in the coming weeks and months. There's no room for error ... considering a judge has ordered him to install an alcohol monitoring system in his home to make sure he stays sober.

Kate Upton had a strong buzz over Wrigley Field -- she was riding shotgun in a World War II era fighter plane that buzzed the Cubs-Tigers game.

Four P-51 Mustangs flew over Wrigley in honor of the 1945 throwback game, and Kate was in the cockpit of one of them ... posting some badass vids (h/t BSO) from the event.

Take note -- the pilots did NOT force Kate to wear one of those ugly, confining jumpsuits during the flight. Nor did they care that her BF Justin Verlander pitches for the opposition. Smart pilots.

Lucky for Dez Bryant, the man who found HIS diamond after it fell out during a Dallas Cowboys practice yesterday isn't you.

The guy with the golden heart is Miguel Preciado ... who's been volunteering at the Cowboys practice facility in Oxnard, CA while looking for a permanent job.

Preciado tells us ... he NEVER (not even for a second) considered keeping the diamond and selling it ... even though hawking it could've brought in THOUSANDS of dollars.

"I'm just a volunteer who did the right thing that I would have wanted done for me," Miguel tells us.

When Miguel gave the diamond to #88 -- Bryant insinuated he'd be hooking up Miguel with some sort of a reward, but Miguel says the move was never about money -- he just wanted to do what's right.

The war for the White House has hit the links ... with Donald Trump claiming he's such a WINNER -- he even dominates at golf.

Trump told Time Magazine he's not just good -- but he's won "many golf championships" over the years ... crushing some pretty decorated players in the process.

"You know I’ve had great success," Trump said ... "I don’t know if you guys play golf. But to win a club championship is hard, literally hard. And you have to beat scratch players ... you got a lot of good players."

12:30 PM PT -- Griner's legal team says its pleased with the ruling because "a 28 day marriage does not entitle Glory Johnson to Brittney’s money for purposes of alimony, Mercedes car payments or attorney’s fees.”

WNBA superstar Brittney Griner will NOT have to shell out $20,000-per-month to her estranged wife Glory Johnson ... so says a judge who just REJECTED Glory's request in court.

As we previously reported, Johnson says Griner needs to pony up TONS of cash for "spousal maintenance" -- to keep up the lifestyle to which Glory became accustomed during their 28 day marriage.

Glory had said she needed $20k per-month to pay for things like food and hired help. In addition, Johnson wanted Griner to pay the monthly bill on her swanky Mercedes Benz.

But in court, the judge SHOT DOWN Johnson's request -- all of it -- including an additional request that Griner pay $10k to cover Glory's legal bills.

Darnell Dockett's days of the five dollar foot long are over ... 'cause the San Francisco 49ers star says he's so disgusted by the Jared Fogle scandal he's never touching Subway again.

As TMZ previously reported ... Fogle -- Subway's go-to pitch man for the last 15 years -- has been charged with traveling to engage in illicit sexual conduct with minors and has struck a plea deal with prosecutors.

The controversy is obviously too much for Dockett's appetite ... 'cause he just announced he's changing his fast food alliance forever.

K.C. Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is NO MORON -- so says Tony Gonzalez who says Kelce is doing the SMART THING by studying his old games films.

Shane tells TMZ Sports, "Don has some fraudulent stuff going on" -- and thinks the signatures on King's alleged contract with Mayorga don't match.

He also thinks there's a jurisdiction problem ... as in Don's not even in the right court!
