Darren Sharper is adamant he's NOT A RAPIST ... insisting the women accusing him of sexual assault are lying ... law enforcement sources tell TMZ Sports.

We broke the story ... the former New Orleans Saints superstar was arrested in L.A. last week for allegedly raping two women in L.A. hotels -- one in October 2013, one in January 2014.

Now, our sources say ... the former NFL star claims he only knows the identity of one of his accusers and insists the encounter was purely consensual.

We're told Sharper says he met the woman at a nightclub and they went back to his hotel room to "hook up" ... but he didn't do anything wrong.

Eagles linebacker Mychal Kendricks says he's "FLATTERED" that Rihanna has publicly stated she wants to wants to ride him like a rodeo bull ... but there's one problem -- she won't call him back.

Disgraced NBA player Javaris Crittenton was part of a MASSIVE drug ring -- that was hoping to move 400 KILOS of cocaine and 10 POUNDS of weed ... this according to legal docs obtained by TMZ Sports.

We broke the story ... the former Washington Wizards player was arrested in Atlanta last week during a sting operation that netted 20 suspects ... some with stereotypical drug cartel nicknames like "Crutch," "Chop" and "Carlito."

FYI -- 400 kilos is roughly 881 pounds. That's A LOT of blow.

Officials say the drug ring has been operating since at least 2012.

Hollywood directors are gushing over Peyton Manning -- at least according to Jeremy Piven, who tells TMZ Sports the QB is just as dominate on camera as he is on the field.

Piven was hanging out at The Little Door in L.A. when he revealed ... industry insiders consider Peyton the BEST jock to work with when it comes to shooting commercials and other comedic bits.

"He's a very funny man," Piven says ... "When pro athletes do commercials, directors say 'Is he a Peyton Manning?'"

Manning's been praised for his work in DirecTV spots, Papa John's ads and even a Buick commercial.

Arian Foster is SUING the woman pregnant with his child for defamation -- claiming she's been LYING about him in public in a diabolical scheme to shake him down for a fortune ... TMZ Sports has learned.

The Houston Texans running back filed the suit in Texas ... saying Brittany Norwood's claims that Arian and his brother tried to strong-arm her into aborting the child are nothing more than a "calculated scheme" to extort the NFL star.

In the suit, Arian says he has PROOF to back up his claims ... including text messages AND a legal recording of a conversation he had with Brittany in which she ADMITS her allegations are false.

During the recorded conversation, which was obtained by TMZ Sports, a woman Foster claims to be Norwood says, "I never once said that you told me to get an abortion" and "I was never in fear of my life around you."

Foster says in his lawsuit, "Norwood has engaged in a campaign to impugn the character and reputation of [Arian] with the intent to extort monies from him."

Foster is asking the judge for unspecified damages -- and he wants Brittany to pay his legal costs -- for dragging his reputation through the mud.

Kellen Winslow is now a comedy "target" ... and not just because he allegedly masturbated at one.

The NY Jets tight end was the butt of a Charles Barkley joke on last night's "Inside the NBA" -- and it all started when Sir Charles was admiring a shot by Golden State star Klay Thompson.

"That boy can really stroke it right there ... take him to Target."

That's when Shaq jumped in and piled on the Winslow-ribbing ... it was HILARIOUS.

Both Kemp and Lynch have been using the term "Beast Mode" for years -- referring to the super-human level they go to in big games.

But Lynch owns the trademark to the phrase -- not Kemp -- and when the Dodgers recently went to Marshawn and asked for permission to use "Beast Mode" on Kemp-related products, Lynch gave 'em the ol' thumbs down.
